Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017

Listed below are the Friday community scent of the day projects for 2017. (You can find past years here: 2014, 2015, 2016, or skip to 2018).

2017 ~ finished

1/6: Take it down a notch Friday: wear a perfume that has a bad reputation because people wore way too much of it back in the day. Go ahead and wear it lightly, or go loud and proud, you'll get points either way. Suggested by Bear.

1/13: Wear a perfume by Anne Flipo, if you have one.

1/20: Wear one of your "top 10 of winter" fragrances (unless it's summer where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of summer" scents)

1/27: Sci-Fi Friday: wear a fragrance that transports you to some alternative futuristic scenario, or that matches a favorite Sci-Fi novel or movie. Suggested by Solanace, who mentioned Strange Invisible Perfumes Fire and Cream as a cologne a cyborg might enjoy wearing.

2/3: Lemming Friday: you acquired a sample because you kept hearing about it (here or elsewhere), now you think you might just have to buy the bottle. A variation on a theme suggested by SheriG.

2/10: Wear a fragrance with lavender, if you have one.

2/17: Reverse Hemisphere Friday: If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, wear something bright and tropical and happy. If you're in the Southern Hemisphere, wear something spicy and warm and comforting.

2/24: Wear a fragrance by Comme des Garçons, if you have one.

3/3: Let Your Freak Frag Fly Friday: wear your oddest fragrance. Suggested by Monkeytoe.

3/10: Booze Cruise: wear a perfume with a booze note. Suggested by Koenigsberg.

3/17: Wear a perfume by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, if you have one.

3/24: Wear one of your "top 10 of spring" fragrances (unless it's fall where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of fall" scents)

3/31: Swap Love or Blind Love: wear a fragrance you acquired via a swap, or wear a fragrance you bought unsniffed. Double bonus points for wearing one of each, triple bonus points for a Blind Swap Love. If you don't swap or buy unsniffed, just wear a fragrance you love. (adapted from a suggestion by Pixel)

4/7: Wear a fragrance with jasmine, if you have one.

4/14: Playlist Friday: name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song.

4/21: Enchanted April: wear your favorite Italian fragrance

4/28: Gucci or Givenchy? Pick one and make your case, or wear one of each.

5/5: May-bee Baby Friday: wear a honey fragrance or one that contains a honey note. Suggested by happy888cat.

5/12: Lessons Learned Friday: wear a fragrance that taught you something you didn't know about yourself, about fragrance, anything! Suggested by Floragal.

Pantone Greenery

5/19 Huesday on Friday, episode 2: wear a fragrance inspired by Pantone's Color of the Year for 2017, Greenery. You do not have to wear a green fragrance — be as creative as you like with the theme! "Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate." (Huesday was originally suggested by TheGoddessRena and Olenska, you can see episode 1 here.)

5/26: Under the radar: wear a fragrance with minimal (or no) sillage, or something you consider a "skin scent". (Suggested by Hajusuuri)

6/2: Antoine Friday: wear a fragrance by perfumer Antoine Lie or Antoine Maisondieu

6/9: Fruity Friday! (A repeat from 2014.) Wear something fruity. Doesn't have to be a fruity floral, just something with plenty of fruit.

6/16: Oddball Friday: wear a fragrance that smells like nothing else you own, or interpret oddball in some other oddball way. Suggested by Austenfan.

6/23: Wear one of your "top 10 of summer" fragrances (unless it's winter where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of winter" scents)

6/30: Bottle Porn Friday: wear a fragrance that you bought because you were drawn to the aesthetics of the bottle, or just wear a fragrance from a bottle you think is perfect. Suggested by chocolatemarzipan8.

7/7: Sports Friday: wear a sports scent! If you just can't go there, wear the sort of fragrance you think one might actually wear while doing something sporty.

7/14: Bastille Day! See if you might possibly have anything French in your collection? Extra points for extra-French-ness, or for silly perfume Frenchification.

7/21: Ernest Hemingway's birthday. Do what you will with the theme, and tell us why you chose your fragrance.

7/28: Nathalie Friday...wear a perfume by Nathalie Lorson or Nathalie Feisthauer, if you have one.

8/4: Compare & Contrast Friday...wear two perfumes with the same note. Suggested by thegoddessrena.

8/11: Wear a fragrance with vetiver, if you have one.

8/18: Fugly Friday: the opposite of bottle porn Friday...wear a perfume you own (or just like) despite the ugly bottle. Suggested by Nebbe.

8/25: Back to school: wear a fragrance that fits the theme, for whatever reason.

9/1: Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! We're all about rabbits today. Wear a fragrance that will bring you good luck for September, or wear a fragrance that reminds you of rabbits, or wear whatever you picked this morning while saying "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" aloud. Or, refuse to participate in childish, superstitious practices — we'd like to know your scent of the day anyway.

9/8: World niche: wear a fragrance from a niche brand that isn't French, Italian or British.

9/15: Picture challenge, edition 2 (you can see edition 1 here). Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Portraits of the *** Family, called The Family Gathering, summer 1867 - early winter 1868 by Frédéric Bazille, shown recently in the exhibit Frédéric Bazille and the Birth of Impressionism. You can read more about the painting here, and you can see a larger image here.

9/22: Wear one of your "top 10 of fall" fragrances (unless it's spring where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of spring" scents)

9/29: Skank Friday! Wear something skanky. If you need help, try here or here. Suggested by Dawn and Ihadanidea.

10/6: Wear a fragrance with lily, if you have one.

10/13: Wear a fragrance by Aurélien Guichard or Jean Guichard.

10/20: Reeking Havoc Friday: in honor of Holly (who is frequently reeking havoc), wear as many perfume samples at once as you can stand. Suggested by FearsMice.

10/27: Guessing Game Friday: describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we'll see if we can guess what it is.

11/3: Fougère Friday: wear a fougère, if you have one

11/10: Playlist Friday: name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song. (Yes, I loved this project so much we're doing it again.)

11/17: Dealer's Choice: propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme. (Another repeat — we did this in 2015.)

11/24: Hide My Credit Card Friday: in honor of Black Friday / Buy Nothing Day, wear a fragrance (presumably from a sample) that you're itching to buy but don't own yet. Suggested by Lovestosmellgood.

12/1: Wear something by Annie Buzantian, Honorine Blanc or Daphné Bugey

12/8: Patchouli Friday...what it says!

12/15: Wild Kingdom Friday...wear a perfume with an animal in its name. If you don't have one, match your perfume to an animal and tell us about it. Suggested by Elisa.

12/22: 'Tis The Season Friday...wear the perfect fragrance to celebrate, share joy and look forward to a new year. Suggested by happy888cat.

12/29: Best of 2017...wear one of your favorite fragrance releases of 2017.
