Happy Playlist Friday! Our community project for today: name a favorite song, and wear a perfume that fits the song. (Yes, I loved this project so much, we're doing it again. If you want to see the first one, it's here.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm going for chill, Comme des Garçons Ouarzazate for Pat Metheny Last Train Home.
Reminder: 11/17 will be Dealer's Choice: propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme. (Another repeat — we did this in 2015.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

“Hope is our four letter word”
Wishing someone a very happy birthday today (you know who you are ) and hoping the year is auspicious and stress free!
Happy Friday , y’all!
Love that song! It’s so great to sing out loud while driving.
I love that song!
Fantastic up tempo song for finally Friday!
Yes, great song! I was blasting it today at work.
Currently at the playground and had to give some teenager the “look” for smoking a doobie this early on the morning.
I don’t want anyone or anything drowning out my Guerlain Vetiver.
Song: Heart still Beating by Ottmar Liebert
Maybe he was matching his scent to a Doobie Brothers song. Lol. Sorry, couldn’t resist:)
Right!!! That was his scent of the day and song pairing…
I used to listen to OL all the time…
When I had a car I use to put him on and just drive and drive…
Brave of you to be out in this cold! I was walking to work in 5th ave near the park and it is painfully cold and windy.I’m not emotionally prepared for this weather, lol.
My feelings exactly!
Baby Buddha said “ow-side ow-side” over and over again until I cracked and we made the journey into the cold..
Did not leave without a thermo of hot tea
What Baby Buddha wants, Baby Buddha gets, lol. How could you resist adorable insistence?
Rochas Audace – Mozart Sull’Aria
(Powdery flowers – the scent in the countess’s boudoir, pine note and other green notes – the place where Susanna’s tryst with the count is supposed to take place (“under the pines in the little grove”)).
Fortunately or unfortunately for you, I’m far more obsessed with music than perfume. Haven’t spritzed yet, am in the far drydown of last night’s Eau Premiere, which brought this one to mind~
For fans of DK Gold~
Ok, haven’t tried the scent, but this seems apropos for VC&A Feerie~
Lol at the Feerie and Hard to Handle pairing!
My song: Prince’s Starfish and Coffee. Sadly I don’t have any coffee perfumes; instead going with Prada Candy for the “butterscotch clouds”.
I’ll take a side order of ham ! ????
Or maybe I’ll just be the ????!
Aw, that’s one of my favorite Prince songs! And Candy is just delicious.
Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam….
Man I used to love that song.
“Watched from the wings as the scenes were replaying,
We saw ourselves now as we never had seen.
Portrayal of the trauma and degeneration,
The sorrows we suffered and never were free.”
Profumum Roma “Fumidus”. The smell of the ashes of long-dead dreams.
Those lyrics! What are they from? And the smell of the ashes … so evocative, so (scen)timental.
Joy Division Decades
You can cathc it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMAB3r6EjcM
Or even catch it, if you’re not up to cathcing today…
This is exactly how I was feeling this morning. Great lyrics.
A strange thing: some songs are great, but only sad songs are true. ;^)
We are in a similar music/scent place today.
You smell great, Robin!
SOTD Aroma M Geisha Noire- my perfect version of Shalimar. Darker, smokier, with a hint of leather in there. Song pairing: Velvet Underground Venus in Furs.
Oh, great perfume and great song!
Thanks! I love them both. Geisha Noire is probably in my top 5 favorites in my collection. Great cold weather scent.8
I have to try this perfume, adding it to my list
PSA Clydes is still open and at 50% off.
It’s worth trying if you want a winter Shalimar. I have the oil rollerball which I liked more than the edp.
Blurgh, I spent too much $$ there already. But I like and am using everything I got so $ well spent! Thanks for the enabling ????
I gotta get me some of that! You recommended it to me a while back given my love of Shalimar and I still haven’t gotten my hands on a sample. But I’m bound to love it given your description.
My guess is you’ll probably like it, but given your true devotiin to Shalimar, I don’t think it could replace it.
Ugh I love that song and VU. I don’t think I’ve tried that Geisha perfume. I really enjoy Geisha Rouge in cold weather though.
Is Rouge the one with the cloves? One of them was too clove-y for me.
Here comes the bull in the china shop……
Triple strength coffee
Extra long workout
Wearing thermal underwear for the first time in 8 months
I may have shed a tear ????
Time keeps on tickin’ tickin’ tickin’
Into the future
I know your name is Rita
Cause your perfume (Angel Mugler) smelling sweeter
Yeah I’ll pay your cab fare home
You can even use my best cologne (vintage Shalimar EDC, what I’m wearing)
Just don’t be here in the morning when I wake UP !
Story of my life!
I want to fly like an eagle to the sea…..
Bear, I finally joined you in a workout today (the workplace is closed due to the holiday)…the other CM8s have been on my case for too much sugar consumption and not enough exercise so I got on my eliptical machine after almost a year..also, did some light weights…I know I am going to be feeling it tomorrow!
This is the time of year that everyone who can do so safely, ease dietary restrictions and enjoy life.
There is always time for restraints in 2018 !
And eat chocolate covered marzipan for me, I still can’t find ’em !
I will eat an extra bar of chocolate covered marzipan for you on Thanksgiving
CM8, I finally found the Aldi huge bars of chocolate covered marzipan and the apricot filled lebkuchen. They are yummy. Will try to exercise and exercise self control.
Wendysue- resistance is futile
Have you tried the chocolate covered lebkuchen that are filled with raspberry? those are amazing too!
One of my favorite Faces/ Stewart songs. Might have just snapped me out of my bleh mood. Thanks!
You’re welcome lillyjo!
Rock ON.! !!
My favorite too, have to play it LOUD
On the Ziggy cover
To be played at maximum volume.
These go to 11…..
Lucky that you were able to find the long underwear for today! It would have been an rather unpleasant day without it…
Yes, today was a grim reality check after above normal temperatures.
Hot toddys all ’round !!!!
“An rather”??? Oh for heaven’s sake! Sorry about the icky grammar. I will happily take one of those hot toddys!
Song for today:
Everybody Knows by Leonard Cohen, who left us a year ago.
The scent to match – Chanel No. 5 EDT – the one everybody knows.
Ah! Fab pairing
One of my favorite songs ever. And love the Rufus Wainwright version.
I was thinking about Cohen yesterday and ended up watching Antony (Antony and the Johnsons/ Anohni) singing If it Be Your Will from a tribute concert. Not sure of the perfume pairing….you nailed it though.
I love his version (and him as well).
I was walking behind a woman wearing No 5 (current edp I think) the other day and I enjoyed trailing in her sillage.
Great song, love it and LC.
By Kilian Sweet Redemption for Schubert’s Winterreise! Thanks for the suggestion of matching this incomparable piece of music with a perfume. SR shares the wistfulness of Winterreise, the Leiermann song in particular.
You made my day!
Thanks for the tip, I had not listened to it in a long time, and it is so, so beautiful.
My offering for the Friday theme is the pairing of vintage Caron Tabac Blond EDT with “Blue Moon” as covered by the Cowboy Junkies. Both the Caron and the cover are dark yet somehow simultaneously bright, and both are avant garde in the best possible way. Happy Friday!
I love that version of Blue Moon!
Beautiful song! Would so love to have the vocal talent of Margo Timmins.
So great to see other Cowboy Junkies fans!
I’m wearing Armani Prive’ Encens Satin and matching it with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
PF was my absolute favorite back in the day. Love David Gilmour’s solo stuff since as well.
I loved it back in the day and still love it.
Feeling super Goth today, so the scent is Chypre Mousse (how tomb-like) and the song is Temple of Love:
“And the devil in black dress watches over
My guardian angel walks away
Life is short and love is always over in the morning
Black wind come carry me far away”
Oh wow, great pairing!
Oh, man. Awesome pairing. The Sisters! I’m on the subway doig a little goth dance in my mind.
OK, now I have to put Chypre Mousse on the “Try This!” list. Sisters of Mercy are awesome.
L’eau de rien for a whiter shade of pale, both have deceptively minimalistic titles/ names – but are exuberantly hippyishly complexe.
You smell so wonderful
Its a scent that feels (not smells) to me like walking in a forest and see rays of sunshine through the trees right after the rain.
The musical equivalent is hearing Jeff Buckley and Liz Fraser sing together, so beautiful!
“All flowers in time bend towards the sun”
I’ll have to listen to that song when I get home. 2 amazing voices-I’m a Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil fan.
Oh my gosh I love that song! So glad to see someone else enjoying it too. Both have such gorgeous voices.
Dedicating this song to my sotd Current Fendi. Aka Water de Fendi, and to all poorly reformulated beloved perfume everywhere. Diana Ross and the Supremes Reflections. I could have also gone with The Bee Gees Tragedy. Lol
Love the post-Miss Ross, Up the Ladder to the Roof.
Didn’t know this one, had to look it up. Pretty cool!
My work here is done.
This made me laugh out loud in an empty office.
Yay for laughing!
the way life used to be.
Thanks, the lyrics really do apply well.
Ha! Good one.
Did you watch China Beach..I think that was the theme song
It was the theme song. Loved that show!
Ha! i was thinking the same thing as ltsg! I used to love that show too…
Oh man, Tragedy was the first LP record I bought myself. Wonder if I still have it somewhere (I’m sure it would be in unlistenable condition though)?
Oops, I meant the album Spirits Having Flown.
Mu husband bought one of those Bee Gees box sets from PBS a couple of years ago.
I still have all my old albums. They are still playable, as long as you don’t mind the crackling sound, and a few skips here and there.
Me too. We’re hip again now, dontcha know?
I am a darn -near -50 year old accountant who collects stamps. I think maybe cool is too high a bar for me to aim for.
I have most of mine. Can’t find The Monkees, my first album. Need to look for my Carole King Tapestry… Hope I didn’t give it away in one of my moves.
Love The Monkees!
Tapestry is such a perfect album, isn’t it?
Love the Monkees! My maternal grandmother bought me my first album…a Monkees record. If she only knew what she was starting…
When Tapestry came out,I was in high school and my friends and I were obsessed with it. Such a great album.
Hang on to your albums, they are gold! Nothing beats listening to them, skips and all. Not quite the same sound as as a download.
Unfortunately my Mom got rid of my albums without my knowledge. I found out from my sister! I still shed a few tears once in awhile. I should have taken them when I moved out then moved out of the province.
Love Diana Ross and the Supremes!!
I haven’t chosen my song or SOTD yet but I wanted to make an enabler PSA: Sephora is now offering a refillable purse spray of No. 5 L’eau (and the 20% VIB sale starts today)
I’ve been on the fence about L’eau, you’re pushing me over! My plan though was to only buy Christmas presents with the sale.
You’re a better person than me, lol
I have been vacillating between L’Eau and Eau Premiere. I don’t think I need both and can’t decide which I like better!
I think L’Eau smells a lot more like the original, just quieter. Eau Premiere was a big MEH for me
Something in EP gives me an immediate headache.
My pairing is Queen Bohemian Rhapsody and Kenzo Jungle l’Elephant because they are both crammed full of stuff! The weather is sunny, windy and cold here, perfect for a big perfume.
Great combo! I wore Jungle a couple of days ago…you smell spicy and great!
Perfect match, ringthing! Go big or go home, right?
Yes! I smell a different facet every time I wear JlE.
I love this pairing!
As Wayne and Garth from “Wayne’s World” would have said “Excellent!”
Oh that scene in WW is so funny! We watched So I Married an Axe Murderer recently, I’d forgotten how funny Mike Myers is. I could see watching Wayne and Garth again one of these cold winter nights.
I pair Sade – Smooth Operator with Aedes Cierge de Lune.
I love that song.
Love for sale……
Bear hug ????
Excellent!!! A voice of silk for a silky perfume
I think I made a good pairing
This will get you up and moving – an oldie but goodie from The Call, Let the Day Begin. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=to2KasivROc
Wearing Lush 25:43 which is also great at raising my spirits! Have a great day, NST!
Great song and great pairing!
You smell great, and I’m off to listen to your song…
I’ve never heard that song. It’s fantastic!
Oh, I haven’t heard The Call in ages!! Thanks for the flashback.
Song – When the Truth Is… by Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam (that entire album is a new classic)
Fragrance – La Fille de Berlin (it’s never anything else when it’s cold in Boston, which for me is below 40.)
Interesting song, and had not heard it — thanks!
I’m in No. 19 today and pairing it with Foreigner’s Cold as Ice!
Sooooo I found a little shop here in ABQ that has a TON of perfume. All kinds, including a good amount that I’ve never smelled. To say I’m excited is an understatement. I intend to spend my lunch hour there today ha!
Wow! is it a niche perfume shop? or is it discounted and discontinued? Both are actually good
It’s actually like an old pharmacy. They have a soda/ice cream shop on one side and the other they sell tons of shaving products, scented soaps, perfumes, hair accessories etc. A really neat place. I ran in just to get a look at it yesterday and they had a lot of stuff that you don’t necessarily find at Sephora (plus some of the usual dept store stuff). Bond No. 9, Annick Goutal, a lot of Guerlain, just a really great selection overall.
Wow, that sounds like a wonderful place.
and Marvis toothpaste
Just think about how much money you will save not having to buy samples anymore!!
Well, now they don’t have EVERYTHING, CM8! But yes, they should have enough to keep me busy for a while.
Omg! Looks amazing!
I used to work near a mall that had 15 perfume shops, and going to them was my lunch hour and a half (LOLOLOL, only 60 minutes, my bad ! ????)
Great for the waistline, not so great for the wallet!
Ruh roh… Let us know what you find!
And I like your song pairing ????
Perfect song/scent match BTW
That store sounds like both an awesome and terrible discovery. Your poor wallet!
Great choices! And nice find. Enjoy!
Woo hoo on No.19. And what a nice perfume boutique find!
Haven’t gotten so far as to pair a song to a perfume. I’m being lazy this morning and in vintage Bal EDT. I’m looking at TPC sale and debating on if I should get a sample of the Hedonist flankers.
Not exactly thrilled to see snow on the ground in Cleveland.
Snow!!! It is darned cold here today but now I’m enjoying the fact that I don’t have snow yet. You have my sympathies.
Ok so I am a major Prince fan – Gotta be easy for me today: (between puppy chasing/training/hilarity and being busy getting ready for the DC winter A la weedwacking there’s NO time to ponder……..
So Purple Rain and Purple Love Y’all –
‘Act your age not your shoe size, and maybe we can do the twirl”;
‘I was busy doing something close to nothin’, but different than the day before”
“I’m testing ‘+’ for the FUNK’;
“Dorothy was a waitress”
His newer works post PR are really amazing – check it out
“I love ya baby, but not like I love my Guitar”
Shut up already!
HaHa!!! Very clever Bear!
My pairing is:
Aretha Franklin, “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman”
Great song, great scent, great pairing!
Yessss!! Love that one! Great pick!!
I just thought of this matchup yesterday while I was listening to Björk, and it felt right, so I’m going with it today. The song is “Pagan Poetry”, and the perfume is SL Fille en Aiguilles.
Scent and song are among my favourites, great match
Lovely, think I’ll wear Fille tomorrow now.
Waiting on some Miller et Bertaux samples which should arrive today.
As I understand they are soft (and because I love the song), I’m matching them ahead of time – always thinking ahead – with Allison Moorer’s Soft Place to Fall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTMJe6R2vVw
If you haven’t heard this one, please watch at least a minute. Such a beautiful song.
(Not sure the country twang goes with the hip French brand, but who cares?)
I don’t know the perfume but I enjoyed your song choice and the entire video clip!
Thanks for watching! I don’t think she gets enough credit!
Wow, that is a great song. Really enjoyed it. Hope you love your samples!
My song/perfume combo is:
Ella Fitzgerald “C’est Magnifique” and Dior J’adore. Whenever I hear this song, and she sings “but then once more, she whispers Je t’a dore”, images of this perfume and its bottle appear in my head. I don’t wear it a lot, and I didn’t like it the first few times I tried it. It is definitely growing on me though.
So glad to see Ella here today
Perfection! I went through an Ella phase last winter on Spotify. Glorious.
I’ve paired Iris Silver Mist with Famous Blue Raincoat by Leonard Cohen. It was a perfect choice when I left the house this morning and it was rainy and somber, but now the sun has appeared and I feel a little too dour. Oh well, at least I smell good!
Love the song and great combination!
You smell amazing! It was my fragrance choice yesterday.
Song of the day: Françoise Hardy – Mon amie la rose (just watch how unbelievably beautiful she was in 1965: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ICFtXx546A)
Scent of the day: Le Labo Rose 31
She is, isn’t she?
She still is beautiful now – amazing face
I was walking through town yesterday and stopped at the counter and for lack of any better options sprayed Diorissimo . This was my mother’s perfume ( and Dior Dior) in the 60s so I have paired it with (NZ singer) Anika Moa’s ‘Mother’. The words of this song always strike me as a miracle. I grew up in a house where although love was a given, and understood, it was impossible to say ‘I love you’ aloud. I’ve always marvelled at people who can just say it naturally instead of living through moments of tortured silence.
That’s a tough one. I grew up in a house where we said it a lot. I always marveled at how my dad could say it to my sister and I, but when he was growing up they never said it at all. My uncle, his brother, whom I’m quite close to still can’t reciprocate when I say it to him. I’ll say “love you” when we get off the phone and he always pauses as if he wants to say it in return, but then always replys, “thank you.”
Loved this – so beautiful.
Yes, also hard to say in the family where I grew up. I wonder why – maybe that generation of parents who grew up with strict and serious parents trying to get their families through the depression?
Anyway, we say it lots in our family of 3 boys, DH and me.
Lovely song, if a little bittersweet to me. Thanks for posting the link.
Out with mom for some doctor’s appointments she has. Freezing and windy, so not fun at all to be outside.
Wearing Queen by Queen Latifah and pairing it with Abba Dancing Queen.
Queen should provide emotional warmth. Great idea- you smell really good.
I was not thinking about pairing the perfume at all. I needed a good sweet boost this morning and Queen was handy. It was funny when I turned the car radio on and Dancing Queen was playing. Not the best pairing, just the name association
I remember those doctor appointments days……….
You smell great perfumelover67!
Try to go out for a nice meal, if possible.
Thank you Bear!
Heading for lunch in 1 hour before our next stop!
Nice you have a day off today. Stay warm! My winter coat is at the cleaners-didn’t think I’d need it this soon.
It is brutally cold outside! Too soon for it. Warming up with some hot soup now. Stay warm Elisa!
Love Dancing Queen! Hope you are able to keep warm today.
I am a forever Abba fan. Love most if not all of their songs!
Hey, that sounds like a great combo to me!
Very saavy choices!
I believe I owe you an enabler’s pin as you mentioned ELDO’s Jasmine and Cigarette earlier this week. I have a bottle on the way to greet me when we arrive in Orlando in about 10 days.
Oh! Thanks for my enabler pin! I really like Jasmine et Cigarette. I will replace my fb without hesitation once it is finished. It works beautifully in cold weather and the tobacco note is stronger. Enjoy your bottle!
You are welcome! And thank you.. I will have to share it with my budding perfumista niece when we are there. She and her Dad are arriving at the same time; she did mention that she likes her perfume ‘kinda dirty’.
She will like it for sure!
That’s my life now too, with my mom. We both enjoy the lunches out though
It is not easy, and there is no much that we can physically do together anymore, but as you say we try at least to enjoy those lunch breaks
I choose Kiste from Slumberhouse (my newest obsession) for Beyoncés Hold up. Lemonade is my favorite record ever.
I thought about scenting Glen Campbells Galveston – one of the greatest songs ever made, but I couldn’t find the right scent.
I was drinking coffee from my Bowie mug this morning and got this joyful Veruca Salt song in my head called “With David Bowie.” Paired with it is Mon Precieux Nectar. Happy Friday!
you smell great!
Off topic: I’m likely the last to know this, but even the scent of nag champa has been changed. I haven’t burned any in a few years, and the sticks in the new box are sweeter, for one thing. This is a huge disappointment.
But I don’t detect any change in Corso Como, hurray hurray. I haven’t had any of it in years, either, but my little bottle from the split meet is making me so happy! So what should my TOTD be? I’m lousy with this, but maybe something from Cavaliera Rusticana?
How about the Intermezzo? If only because it’s so beautiful, and surely we could all do with a little of that.
Would have to be true because sandalwood.
Walked out this morning
Don’t believe what I saw
A hundred billion bottles
Washed up on the shore
(sounds like a year’s worth of new perfume releases? LOL)
OK, so I’m cheating, any scent would go with these lyrics But my Message In A Bottle is: Chanel Bel Respiro, green don’t-mess-with-me leather for an aggravating Friday. TGIF, y’all!
Huh. I never think of BR as bad-a%$. I also don’t smell any leather?! Boo. On me it’s a rather genteel water-color-of-a-green-floral. Is yours edp or edt?
Ha — yes, that should be the anthem of the perfume industry!
I’m wearing Ineke Idyllwild from the Splitmeet and paired it with
What A Wonderful World.
How do you like it?
SOTD: Arabian Oud Kalemat
Both dark, sweet, and smokey. Just the way I like it✌????
Excellent description of both!
SOTD is Serge, Sa Majeste la Rose, bright and happy.
Song pairing is To The Morning, first cut from Dan Fogelberg’s first album, also happy. Determined. Accepting.
And it’s going to be a day
There is really no way to say no to the morning
And it’s going to be a day
There is really nothing left to say but come on morning
Dan Fogelberg! Thanks for the memory!
Most welcome! ????
He was so underrated. And he is greatly missed; I’m a DanFan from waaaay back.
How’s the arm?
Better, thanks for asking! I went to the ortho this week, and the fragments are still holding together, so no surgery. I’ll see him again the week after Thanksgiving and will hopefully have the same report. ????
Wow, Dan Folgerberg. Takes me waaay back, thank you!
Not sure what a Folgerberg is; stupid autocorrect, jeez. Fogelberg.
Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg, Twin Sons of Different Mothers. Listened to them all the time. Thanks for that memory.
When I wear En Passant in lilac season, it smells like spring/summer. When I wear it in cold weather, it smells like regret. Wearing it today and pairing it with one of the truest, saddest songs ever–I Can’t Make You Love Me. I like the original Bonnie Raitt version best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUcSmU2qIWw
Such a sad tune..she is great though!
Wow, that brings back some long buried memories.
Me too. Ouch.
Ouch x 2
She has a lot of the saddest songs….
I’m pairing CSP’s Amour Cacao with Babymetal’s “Gimme Chocolate!!” Seemed appropriate.
Nice to hear a mention of Babymetal!
Happy Friday Everyone! My all time favorite song is Sweet November. It was originally done in the 80’s by a group called The Deele, which included Babyface. It was remade in the 90’s by a group called Troop. Honestly, both versions are amazing, so I can’t choose which I like better.
My SOTD only goes with the song because I feel its a Fall/ Winter scent. And since we’re in the month of November, its fitting. I am wearing Basil & Neroli by Jo Malone.????
Spread my wings and fly away
To a place that I long for……
Thanks for the memory!
Lol! Yeah….great group and very underrated!
Happy Friday! Wearing Tauer Sotto la Luna Tuberose. My song is Paper Moon sung by Ella Fitzgerald:
It was fr-fr-freezing this morning so I went with Felanilla and I am pairing it with Jungle Love by the Steve Miller band. Didn’t sleep well so this is the best I could come up with through the brain fog. Happy Friday all!
I think your brain fog was an advantage today! Both of those choices are clear genius????
Thanks Deva! I nevwr really woke up today. Hopw you
Jungle Love! Great song..
I am wearing Kismet by Lublin. I always associate it with sunshine. So the song to go with it – I am walking on Sunshine
That song still makes me smile!
I’m popping in to participate and look forward to reading all the picks after work!
I’m wearing Slumberhouse Kiste to go with Jesus and Mary Chain Just Like Honey. My connection is the obvious (honey) plus they are both a bit loud, a bit raunchy and booze soaked but sweet and pretty at the same time.
Great song! I was going to pair that one with Chergui.
Well you’re dirty and sweet, clad in black
don’t look back,
and I love you,
You’re dirty and sweet oh yeah..
Get it on by T Rex, pairing it with L’Air de Rien by Miller Harris.
Very nice pairing.
I’m wearing Back to Black – and the song of course is Amy Winehouse’ s Back to Black, which is the only pairing
I could come up with:). Happy weekend!
Hey, it works!
SOTD = Andy Tauer’s Lonesome Rider.
The song to match:
“On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha
You can listen to the engine moaning out its one-note song”
“Turn The Page”. Reader’s choice if you go with the original by Bob Seger, or if the Metallica cover is more your style.
Nice, Jalapeno !
I met Mr. Seger when he was touring for Night Moves, either 1977 or 1978. Nice guy.
Cool celeb to meet!
Bob Seger played at my high school sock hop around 1968–I’m originally from Michigan and so is he. I was supposed to see him last night here in Portland but he is postponing his tour due to back surgery. I love his music, and Turn the Page is great.
Oof, did not know that Bob Seger had had back surgery recently. Hope he heals well and quickly from that.
Bob Seger, all the way!
This morning I wore 10 Corso Como for the first time. It didn’t last long, but it smelled great.
I used to have that lotion, it was fantastic.
Playing (streaming) an oldie but goodie album – George Winston’s December. Listening to the song Thanksgiving and wearing some 1970’s Cinnabar. Happy fall, happy cold day, Happy Thanksgiving!
I have the CD…piano!
Wearing L’Artisan Mechant Loup, hearing Sting singing “we’ll be together tonight” and feeling very naughty. Happy Friday, indeed!!!
SOTD = When We Cuddle and I Can Smell My Perfume on Your Clothes by Andy Tauer
Community Project fail. I was going to link to the sound clip of Elmo’s laugh until I realized the laugh was from Tickle Me Elmo and not Cuddle Me Elmo. Maybe I will spray this on my plush fox tail and cuddle with it on this cold night – brrrrr.
When a senior manager (not directly in my management chain but related) tells you that he communicated something to the team yesterday, you would think that the entire team of 16 who sit together in the same work location and who had an all day meeting together yesterday would have been told the news. One would be wrong to assume that, no matter how sound one’s logic was in developing that assumption. hajusuuri ended up breaking not bad but not pleasant news to said manager’s team this afternoon and there was no way to take it back. I know it won’t come back to bite me but it was not my place to deliver the news and I ended up doing so in my quest to prepare to execute on the news.
Egads, what a horrid day at work!
Song… “Golden Brown” by the Stranglers worn with Pacifica Spanish Amber on this crisp fall day…
