Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018

Listed below are Friday community scent of the day projects for 2018. (You can find past years here: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, or skip to 2019).

2018 ~ finished

1/5: Color My World...wear a perfume with a color in its name. If you don't have one, tell us what color you think matches your perfume. Suggested by Pyramus.

1/12: Rinse, repeat...pick a favorite community project from the past, and do it again. (If you need a reminder, here are the lists for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).

1/19: Vanilla Friday...wear a fragrance with vanilla.

1/26: Wear one of your "top 10 of winter" fragrances (unless it's summer where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of summer" scents)

2/2: Groundhog Day...assemble some winter- and spring-appropriate samples in a bowl, and pick one at random, then tell us if spring will be early or late this year.

2/9: Broadened Horizons Friday...wear a fragrance you initially thought was too [insert adjective] for you to wear. Suggested by Geordie.

2/16: Lunar New Year...wear an auspicious fragrance to ring in the Year of the (Earth) Dog.

2/23: Library Friday...honor National Library Month with any sort of fragrance association you can think of.

3/2: Uncle Serge Day: wear something by Serge Lutens (a repeat from 2014)

3/9: Is it real, or is it Memorex?... wear a fragrance that photorealistically duplicates the smell of something else. Suggested by Jalapeno.

3/16: Amber Friday: wear a fragrance with an amber note.

3/23: To celebrate the equinox this week, wear a fragrance that evokes one of Pantone's colors from the Spring 2018 report for New York.

3/30: To honor Women's History Month, wear a fragrance by Germaine Cellier or Josephine Catapano, if you have one. If you don't, wear a fragrance by any female perfumer.

4/6: Wear one of your "top 10 of spring" fragrances (unless it's fall where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of fall" scents)

4/13: Monopoly Friday: You Inherit $100. Wear the fragrance (presumably from a sample or decant, but it could be from a bottle if you're planning to replace or stockpile) that you'll buy with your windfall. It has to be something you can actually buy for $100 or less! (If you never played the board game Monopoly, this is based on one of the "Community Chest" cards.)

4/20: Can’t stop, won’t stop: wear a perfume from the most saturated category in your collection. Suggested by Coin-op.

4/27: Next Generation Friday: wear something from a younger perfumer.

5/4: May The Fourth Be With You: it's Star Wars Day. Do what you like with the theme!

5/11: Musk Friday: you know what to do!

5/18: Museum Day: wear a fragrance to match your favorite painting (or other object, anything you like!) in a museum, and if you can, post a link to an image.

6/1: In honor of World Milk Day (and the start of Dairy Month), wear something milky or creamy.

6/8: Wear one of your "top 10 of summer" fragrances (unless it's winter where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of winter" scents)

6/15: Wish List Friday: wear a fragrance that's in the top 5 of your full bottle wish list. Suggested by Katrina.

6/22: Picture challenge, edition 3. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is David Hockney's Beverly Hills Housewife, from 1966. You can read more about the painting here and here.

6/29: Opposite Day! Wear the opposite of what would be expected. Suggested by Pyramus, who provided a bunch of examples: La Nuit on a bright sunshiny day, Matin Calin in the afternoon, Voile d’Ete in the depth of winter or Winter Delice in the middle of July, Aromatics In White when you’re dressed all in black.

7/6: Frida Kahlo's birthday: do what you like with the theme! (Kevin wrote about a perfume she actually wore in A Celebrity’s Scent: Frida Kahlo & Dana Emir.)

7/13: Aquatic Friday: wear an aquatic or something meant to evoke the sea.

7/20: Cocktail Party: tell us about your favorite cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), provide a recipe if you like, and wear a perfume that would complement your choice. It doesn't have to be a boozy fragrance!

8/3: August is Peach Month! You know what to do.

8/10: Wear a fragrance by Atelier Cologne, Acqua di Parma or Amouage, if you have one.
