Happy Cinco de Mayo, and happy May-bee Baby Friday! Our community project for today: wear a honey fragrance, or a fragrance with a honey note. Thanks to happy888cat for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I was going to out-honey everyone today with Serge Lutens Miel de Bois, but I'm not quite up to it this morning. I've got a bit on a blotter, and even that is not making me very happy. I predict I will go commando today.
Reminder: 5/12 will be Lessons Learned Friday...wear a fragrance that taught you something you didn't know about yourself, about fragrance, anything! Suggested by Floragal.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: you can buy the honey bear bottles at The Cary Company.
I’m wearing Miel de Bois for the both of us, then. It’s the honeyest thing imaginable. I really love it.
Oh good then! I love it too, but it does not mix well with early morning antibiotics on an empty stomach.
Jealous! You smell fabulous!
It sounds like I need to pay attention to Miel de Bois at tge next swapmeet!
I almost wore it.
I really like that scent- very cuddly!
Can you comment on accusations of urine notes in that one? I haven’t tried it, and am a bit afraid to.
I’ve heard people who’ve tried the older version and the newer bell-jar version say it’s been reformed and de-peed- which for them was a bad thing. I personally smelled a very tame honey in a new bell jar (and no pee).
Oh, that makes me sad.
It was the 1st time I tried it and was surprised after reading about how polarizing it was. I suppose you can “personalize” it like Peety ????
Hello honey bees.
I can hear your happy buzzing!
I’m in Anatole Lebreton’s Bois Lumiere. Lots of honey, immortelle, beeswax in this one.
Oh, that sounds lovely!
It’s a bit of a challenge but it’s a pretty one anyway
Beige EDP, my wedding perfume
I didn’t get a chance to answer the questions from yesterday, I am not sure what version of heure exquise I tried at Annick Goutal, probably the EDP I am guessing. It was love at first sniff. But I didn’t buy it.
Yesterday I went to FM, superstitious was a complete no for me. I did love L’hiver. Wandered into Diptyque, was a complete fail. Didn’t sniff anything I liked.
I didn’t find anything at Elisa’s P gem perfume store that I wanted to purchase on the spot. I sat on my hands when I saw an old Shalimar bottle. I also noticed a bottle of Insolence which I have never smelled before, I gave that one a test and I got 2 compliments on the subway and then again on the escalator.
Sadly, my staycation is over. I am parenting solo as my better half is away. Made my own tea this morning. I got a bit weepy when my partner left this morning; he is leaving and I will miss him and coupled with the fact that my vacation is over and my FIL is gone as well. Here I am , all alone. But I have my little Buddhas so I will be ok.
Beige….I tried it for the first time yesterday….exquisite…I could definitely see that as a wedding scent.
To me Heure Exquise edt is sharper and greener…the edp is rounder, sweeter and softer….I like both but if I had to choose it would be the latter..
I think you need to go back and get that bottle of Insolence, given the number of compliments you got!
sorry your staycation is over…but spending quality time alone with your little ones is priceless…..enjoy them as they grow up so fast……
Oh and I forgot to say that I loved L’Hiver too! When I told the dark haired SA with the French accent who played along with me as I practiced my rusty French on her that it was my birthday she gave me a sample of L’Hiver and my girlfriend a sample of that AND En Passant! Those samples are quite large and the presentation is lovely….Superstitious was potent! We only smelled it on a card as we had no more skin left to try it on!
Lucky you! Those samples are wonderful in their little coffin boxes.
wow..you are lucky!
are they not want to give out samples normally?
In my experience I find that SAs are incredibly stingy nowadays…..as opposed to 35 years ago when they would practically throw the samples at you in dept stores.
I am going to chime in and agree with the analysis of Heure Exquise. Also, the edp has more pronounced rose accords. They are different in how they were too with the edt haveing a bit more of that bitter vegetal Goutal aldehyde…. so you may want to make sure you know before you buy. For sure they are both gorgeous – HE is one of my holy grail fragrances and my first galbanum love.
Thanks for the clarification, Ann! My sample, which I’ve had forever, must be the edt then because it is so bitter and sour on me that I’ve never been able to understand the HE love. Must order the edp!
Just shoot me an email and a sample is yours! Besides I need some eo advice….
Email sent! 🙂
After reading your description I am going to hypothesize that I tried the EDP!
It was very lovely..
Rain is coming down hard today ..that would be a lovely scent for a day like today
AnnS, can I trade you something for a sample?
yes – sorry to be late. It’s always annoying when work interferes with fragrance.
anneroosie @ hotmail. com
The baby buddhas! Every time you mention them, it just makes me smile. Remember, we’re all with you in scent spirit????
You will be OK! But, it’s tough, I know.
Ditto- love hearing about the baby buddhas????Hang in there! Someone once said to me “it’s the toughest job you’ll ever love.”????
Thank you! I know I can do it~
Preparing my haiku for tomorrow ahead of time
Hugs to you!
Hang in there, mama. It’s tough mentally being alone at home for extended periods of time w/ small children when you have no backup. Treat yourself well and spray some extra perfume tonight. 🙂
Beige must be bringing back some lovely wedding memories for you today 🙂
I don’t know where they pick up those old Shalimar bottles. Glad you found a new love in Heure Exquise. Hope your day isn’t too stressful with the little ones, especially with this downpour, it’s hard to go out. I’m soaked!
I went out and had to come home, change, and empty puddles in the stroller
I haven’t tried Beige EdP, but I enjoy EdT. And I absolutely love Heure Exquise EdP (until I read about it here today, I didn’t realize EdP was different from EdT other than in concentration).
I hope that “alone” time will pass quickly.
The delicious honey baked pastries aroma of 4160 Tuesday’s Over the Chocolate Shop for me today. It’s such a shame it never quite made it into full production, so I don’t wear it too often because I’ll never get another bottle.
I have not heard of that one! Why didn’t it make it into production?
If I remember correctly (and it’s a few years ago now), one of the ingredients Sarah used became too expensive to make it commercially viable. So it went into the naughty box section of the 4160 Tuesdays online shop and it’s never been seen since!
Ah — that’s too bad but it makes sense.
Happy Friday everyone! Wearing just one single spray of Serge Lutens Miel de Bois. One of the few SL that it is not easy for me to wear. Sometimes, I get lots of woods and honey which I appreciate. Other times I just get cat urine. It lasts forever and has a great sillage. At least, today I am liking what I am smelling and I am very thankful for it.
Yay to NOT getting cat urine today 🙂
I have NEVER gotten pee from Miel de Bois! I feel very fortunate, although I do sometimes (rarely) wonder if other people think I wet myself….
Me neither — it’s straight-up luscious, loveable honey on me, and zero pee, but I do get nervous about what others might smell!
Last night post shower a tiny spray of APLS …mmm…..
This morning I decided to test my mini of Coeur de Parfum (Jacomo) that was part of my birthday extravaganza package……this smells like a classic beauty although it came out in the 1980s…wondering if it has real oakmoss and Mysore sandalwood in it…also, found this great review-
https://memoryofscent.com/2014/04/27/smells-of-geneva-jacomo-coeur-de-parfum-and-the-smell-of-the-escalade/
At work applied Cimabue (DSH) to both arms…because it has honey/beeswax…so delicious but sits close to the skin…I am extremely impressed with the DSH offerings I have tried either on skin or sniffed from the vials thus far.
Happy Friday , y’all!
peace love light
xxoo
And feel better, Robin!!!
Thank you! Working on it. It’s slow 🙂
I have a mini of Corey de Parfum from when it was still being called Parfum Rare. It’s so amazing, like a resurrected classic from the past: hard to believe it was launched in 1987.
Most definitely a hidden gem…and yes, I had originally thought it would have been from an earlier era.
May I ask you what APLS is?
MFK Absolu Pour Le Soir
I see! It was absolutely horrible on my skin – no wonder I blocked it out 🙂
Sorry you not feeling well, Robin. I do not have Miel de Bois, but it was the first SL I tried, and, as a big fan of honey scent, I was deeply impressed. Too bad it was discontinued later and became both hard to find and often very expensive.
My SOTD is Phaedon Tabac Rouge (although I also considered Botrytis (honeybomb!), Ambre Narguile and Chergui). It’s a lovely blend of honey, tobacco and spices. More honey than tobacco!
And I also used some Lush Honey lip scrub today (honey + mint). 🙂
Oh, it is not too late!
http://us.sergelutens.com/miel-de-bois.html
Might be too expensive though — sure is for me.
I keep forgetting that it’s available in the exclusive range! But anyway – it’s too expensive for me, too.
I would not pay $300 for it. Actually would not pay that much for any perfume, but definitely not this one — I love it but I don’t think I’d ever wear it that often.
Wafting vero profumo’s Naja behind me in fragrant clouds. I was gifted a small sprayer by a perfume friend, and am waiting impatiently until it is released. Leather, honey, apple, and tobacco.
Do you love it? I am anxiously awaiting this release.
Oh my! That’s sounds like it may give me beloved and inaccessible Onda VdE a run for her money! Any impressions you want to share?
There is a definitive powdery note to it – much more Osmanthus ( like Daim Blond) than hard edged leather.
Very well blended, you get a hum of tobacco rather than the blast many brands ( looking at you Tom Ford) put in their fragrances.
Melon is a listed note I do not pick up at all.
Disclaimer – I am a real fan of this house as all of their scents work wonderfully on my skin.
I highly recommend it
From the notes it sounds similar to SSS Equestrian.
I was thinking the same thing.
L’Eau d’Hiver ici, which I actually prefer au printemps. It’s hitting the spot on this cloudy, 50ish morning. Hoping you can turn the corner over the weekend, Robin.
Very pretty – it’s in that cool feminine powdery territory with Iris Poudre and L’AP Orchidee Blanche…. lovely!
I am bound to find the corner eventually! This could be WAY worse.
The first of the Hedonists for me today, honey for sure and maybe a bit of booze too. This Serge Lutens Miel de Bois sounded like one to find on a sniff and try until the cat urine part 🙂
I really liked the original Hedonist and it was on my FB list for a while. Doesn’t hurt that the bottle is to die for, either!
Bottle is beautiful and I do not really go for sparkles or glitz usually. I would love to try the rose and the cassis but sample are pricey and the one time I got a few too small to get a good read on. I do not think it will be in a swap anytime soon ha,ha,ha
Well, your post made me head over to Luckyscent to price check and I was delighted to note all three are available in travel size. I LOVE 10ml or less sizes! So, that may be an option to consider, no? Not that I would try to enable! Not me! Never????
Lalalalalalalalalalala
The Hedonist Rose is wonderful. There is an opening white wine note that I could quite happily drink.
I love that one. And the blingy bottle. Love Hedonist Iris, too.
I was a bit disappointed in Hedonist Cassis though… the dominant note for me was grapefruit, not cassis.
Finally got a real night’s sleep! Even if that means passing out with my phone in my hand as I was responding to the lovely commenters who wished me well last night.
I feel very rested but I think I ended up on the side of my face where I had my extractions. Some light pain over yesterday but everything looks the same.
Wearing a generous spray of Absolue pour le Soir today. Love it.
I’m planning to hit up the new local Le Labo boutique that opened up in Houston. Does that mean we’re getting a city exclusive??? I’ll buy y’all samples if that’s the case.
Also, long comment is long but I got my box of Angel chocolates yesterday. They are wow, but for some reason I was unrealistically surprised by how small they were. I would buu them again if I didn’t have to pay for shipping. The middle note one with cotton candy should be a mandatory tasting. (I’m still not sure I know what patchouli tastes like though.)
You smell great!
Second this!
🙂
I wore mine last night for you and Holly.
It’s amazing stuff!
Glad you got some sleep!
Thank you!
Le Labo?! #jealous
The very lovely girl who helped me said that estee Lauded is planning to eventually have a storefront in all major cities in the US.
Glad you slept well, and so glad someone got that box of chocolates, and you deserve them to make up for your teeth.
I bet I would have had the same reaction to the tiny! At least they are wow.
They were such a lovely treat but I was definitely taken aback.
Where is this new boutique? I’m in Houston too.
Montrose, of course! On Westheimer, next to the old American Apparel. Elizabeth helped me and she is so sweet. Sadly samples aren’t free (Estee would roll in her grave!) but I had to support them with a 15ml bottle purchase. It is very fun to watch them full the bottle.
Wow I didn’t know we had a Le Labo boutique! I need to go check it out! I’ve been kind of wanting a 15ml of Patchouli 24, so maybe that’ll be my excuse.
It would be kinda cool if we got a city exclusive.
Also glad you’re feeling a bit better!
I got that exact bottle today! She said I was the first sale of Patchouli in the store so far. It smells so heavenly, and I haven’t even sprayed it on.
Nice choice! I had my husband smell that one on me a while back, thinking he’d like it because he looooves grilling and smoking meat, eating bacon etc. He made a face and when I said, “but I thought you liked the smell of hickory smoke”, he said “I do, but they shouldn’t have ruined it by adding perfume to it”.
Sigh.
Oh that’s a shame, but money saved. Have you tried Black by CdG? That’s even more barbeque-y.
Houston is getting a city exclusive! I’m pretty sure he (the Le Labo sales associate by me) said they’re bringing back Aldehyde 44 which used to be the Dallas city exclusive, but then when they closed the Barney’s there they discontinued it. Also, there is going to be a city exclusive for Amsterdam as well. Cannabis 420?
The rep I talked to was asked about what scents encapsulated Houston and she said magnolia. She definitely expressed disinterest in getting Dallas’s old exclusive (there’s a weird beef between Dallas and Houston). I think Dallas will get its own store eventually.
Hurray for a good night’s sleep! And thanks for the review on the Angel chocolates… I have been keeping watch on those since Robin featured them here on NST. Would you consider them worth the price?
I enjoyed it definitely. Sadly the shipping was pretty high, but if you can spend it I say go for it. That cranberry cotton candy one though… I love to talk about food and that’s one I’ll talk about forever.
My sympathies Robin, I am feeling dodgy this morning too, most likely what the French describe as a “crise de foie” after a too-rich quiche last night. Wearing a small spritz of Wazamba on one wrist and a spritz of Chergui on the other.
I have a crise de foie from too much pizza last night!
You smell great X2!
Sorry to welcome you to the club!
Feel better
Ah! I will try to remember ““crise de foie” (but probably forget.) I suffer from this often, generally when I decide eating handfuls of chocolate-covered almonds is a good idea at midnight…
You smell delicious!
I hope you feel better! I had a similarly dodgy am, from being woken up last night from bad reflux which I can’t blame on a rich quiche. In fact I ate very light and took an acid reducer before bed. Blurgh.
What will you wear for watching the French elections?
Love the honey bear photo today which brings back happy memories of road trips as a kid. Those ceramic cow creamers are another favorite of mine.
I am commando right now as well. “Something” is “out for delivery” to me, but don’t know if it will make it to me before I leave.
Severe weather has delayed my trip but I changed my ferry reservation to 4pm today and hoping the delay will give enough time for the weather to calm a bit. Who wants to be on a ferry for two and a half hours with active tornado warning, high wind advisories, and rough surf? No thank you! I want to keep my breakfast in my belly????Hope everyone is able to avoid the flooding and unfriendly weather!
Happy honey Friday and hope this leads to a sweet weekend for all!
Package anticipation is one of my least anticipate states. Crossing my fingers for you.
Hope the weather improves. Stay safe!
I hope your weather improves for your trip! I’ve been hearing those loud phone weather alerts all day here.
I definitely prefer to keep my breakfast in my belly, too! Hope the weather improved in time for your ferry trip!
Since it is freezing and cold and dreary here today, I’m sadly not wearing what I had originally planned in MAC Naked Honey as a celebration of bounteous spring, but rather my SOTD and likely until tomorrow morning is Amouage Memoir Woman. If there is a honey note in there, that would be great. Maybe I can say there might be a smidge of the more animalistic honey? But I really need that warm, cozy, smokey leather today!!!
You smell great.
HAPPY FRIDAY Y’ALL!!!
Wearing Centrepiece, my favorite honey scent. I’m actually not real big on honey scents (some of them overwhelm me), but this is a good smellie and a winner!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!! 🙂
That’s another one I forgot!
No honey for me today. I’m nursing a perfume hangover from yesterday. I was at Kohl’s and stopped to look at the perfumes. I sprayed some on the strips, and about three on my already fragrant arms. Then I saw the clearance bin. For some reason I decided to spray a ton of YSL Manifesto, that’s when it tried to kill me. I ended up in bed with a massive headache, and nausea, promising I would NEVER wear perfume again. I’m feeling mostly better now. Wearing a tiny spritz of Ed Hardy Love and Luck. A real light orange scent.
Oh, glad you able to avoid Death by Perfume! Hope you recover quickly????
That sounds like a Agatha Christie mystery book, tbh!
I hope you feel better. Drink lots of liquids and take a multivitamin.
I did the same with something by Marc Jacobs… testing at Nordstrom Rack and being silly and not paying attention… .ooof. I am now officially terrified of any perfume bearing the Marc Jacobs label.
Nope. Not Marc Jacobs. It was Michael Kors!
Same difference 😉
oh man!
One of Mandy’s Aftelier scents did that to me..and I kept thinking..this is suppose to be a natural fragrance!? Why do I have a headache !?
Feel better soon. Take a long walk and breath some fresh air.
Wow. They should have warning signs posted. I hope you recover quickly! I gave myself a hefty hand soray in a duty free before a flight ince and sorely regretted it as did my husband.
“Then I saw the clearance bin.”???? Oh dear. Hope you’re feeling fully better now!
I think that’s why I sprayed so much! I wanted to convince myself it was great for the price!
Oh no!! I hope the Killer Scrubber did not permanently put you off of perfume!
Ha! No, of course not. I’m just going to be more mindful of testing on blotters before skin!
It’s very muggy again here today, and I’m in Tom Ford Fleur de Chine. No honey in it, supposedly, but it gives the impression that there could be. I think the only scent I have that actually has any kind of a honey note is Or du Serail, and it’s way too heavy for the day’s weather. SO GLAD it’s Friday!
An impression is all it takes! Sometimes honey is too much — I probably should have done this one earlier in the year.
I’m in 4160 Tuesdays Dirty Honey.
There are quite a few in that line I would like to explore. Dirty Honey sounds delish!!
Ha ha, I first read that as “Dirty Harry.” Now that might be some perfume!
I adore that scent. I actually thought about wearing it today, but Naja called…..
You smell wonderful
No actual perfume today. The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey shower cream followed by lotion of the same. I loved it when I smelled it in the store but I must say it doesn’t last long. Oh well.
Sounds yummy, though!
and now you can apply something else 🙂
I’m wearing Guerlain L’Instant today. Honey and vanilla. I’ve had this bottle for over 6 years now, and I don’t find myself reaching for it all that much.
Robin, I hope your health continues to improve and you are able to enjoy your fragrances again 🙂
I tried that one for the first time yesterday, it was very nice and the vanilla stood out front and center on me
That’s one of my mom’s favorites. You smell great!
Thank you! I am getting there.
I’m a day late but hoping you might remember do you prefer Guerlain L’Instant edt or edp?
I was going to wear Dilletante, but It just didn’t suit my mood, so instead I’m in Pichola to match my pink and black top.
Pichola is lovely!
You smell great!
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone.
Wasnt able to do the theme today- don’t really have a scent with honey. Wearing White Jasmine &Mint by Jo Malone.
Yay for Cinco de Mayo. My music students sang “El Quelite” yesterday. Great fun.
“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”
Decided to just go with Amoureuse today instead of scrambling about in my sample pile. Mom may or may not (the medical staff has changed their minds, no kidding, three 3! times already since yesterday afternoon) be moving to the rehab center today, so I probably will not make the hour’s drive to see her until she’s settled in at rehab. She doesn’t like white florals, so I don’t want to inflict Amoureuse on her anyway.
lol! Carly Simon knew what to call it – anticipation! 😀
All the best to your Mom.
That’s my SOTD, too!
all the best to your Mom
Amoureuse is gorgeous. I never really think about it with a honey note because it’s a big green for me, but darn you are right! Good luck with moving your mom.
I have had Amoureuse for a long time and one of the few fragrances I have a back-up for. However, I have neglected it lately. This morning (after a late night and little sleep) I again forgot about the Friday fragrance. My selection of perfume today is credited to Sebastian Jara, as I watched his review of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid vs. Tiziana Terenzi’s Maremma. So I am in Maremma (which I’m fairly certain is devoid of honey).
When I sprayed it today I was shocked and overwhelmed by how strong the honey note is! I swear I did not ever notice that before, and it’s one of my favorite perfumes. These exercises can really promote insight!
Thanks for the wonderful Pooh Bear quote, and wishing the best for your mom.
Hope the docs will dismiss your mom soon so she can get on with the rehab. Hope that (and the surgery of course) will afford her some relief. Coping with RA is not easy…
All the best to you and your mom! Love your Pooh quote. 🙂
I love this one, Carol! It’s totally intoxicating. I’m glad to see it getting some attention today.
Great Winnie-the-Pooh quote, mals! I hope that your mom’s transition to the rehab facility is a quick and smooth one, after the fits and starts you have mentioned. Good luck.
It was a perfect quote – thank you.
I hope it’s resolved with your mother, and you’ll be able to go and see her wearing something she approves.
Trying to pretend it’s Spring in Meteorites. I pity all of the women in their beautiful hats and Spring outfits at the Oaks today and Derby tomorrow. 🙁 55F and pouring rain is miserable!
Happy Cinco de Mayo all!
They’ll just have to suffer by adding a fur coat to the mix – real or fake! It’s been a long time since we’ve had such a dreary early May. Cheers!!!!
Having attended in previous dreary years, I can attest that they actually won’t cover up! Neither do the cute young things here in Lex. out at the Keeneland meet in April when it can be freezing!
Ooh! Meteorites! I love the smell of the shimmery balls but have heard the fragrance doesn’t resemble the makeup much. What’s your take? And is there a Guerlain release you don’t own? 😉 (that’s just my jealousy talking 😀 )
Yes, it does smell like makeup! But in a very good way. It’s got that violet powdery quality of classic makeup, but in a warm vanilla-ish base. (I don’t own it–wish I did–but tore threw a 2 ml sample of a friend gave me.)
I’ve never smelled “shimmery balls” (and me and my naughty mind are laughing so hard I can’t type 😀 ) so I can’t tell you how much the perfume smells like the makeup.
lol! There are a few I don’t own although I’ve probably had decants at one time or another of just about everything that’s available (not available = Djedi).
And thus a new metrosexual grooming product is conceived! 😀
HA! You just set me off again! :-)))
Remember that hair dye they sold in drugstores in the last decade “for the hair down there”?
my naughty mind is right there with yours and Mr. CM8 is looking at me as though I lost my marbles as I am laughing so hard!
I love Meteorites! One of the few violet scents that agrees with me. Would love to have a bottle.
Ain’t it great!?! 🙂
…and a lemming is born!
Meteorites is so pretty! Just the right balance of violets and powdery heliotrope.
I’m sorry the antibiotics are bothering you so much, I hope you don’t have to take them much longer.
I’m wearing Rhubarbe Ecarlate, no honey for me today.
You smell very pretty!
Thank you Ajda! 1 week down, 3 to go 🙂
May 5… Cinco de Mayo AND the day that Chanel No. 5 was launched…
I completely and unreservedly planned to wear Chergui today. The cold grey morning just confirmed it. With that distinct satisfaction that comes with 1) remembering the community project, 2) having something that fits, and 3) wanting to wear said something that actually fits…. I applied my perfume.. Huh? What is this? This is NOT Chergui!!!! Ah well. I forgot I switched out my winters for springs for some perfumes… an lo and behold I am now afloat in A la nuit… the bottles looks the same to a perfumista in a rush…
Maybe its just rationalizing, but I am actually getting a honey note in A la nuit….
I am dying laughing at your post! The satisfaction, the shock! 😀
And for the next community project, you’ll have to add “4) Being able to find the something that fits….” 🙂
“White honey” is listed in the notes, so you’re not imagining it! Chergui tomorrow, weather permitting? Or tonight? 😉
Ah, you smell fantastic though!
After some serious research into whether I actually had anything with a honey note in it, I’ve ended up choosing La Myrrhe. I can’t quite detect the honey but apparently it’s there. It’s gorgeous though. To really enter into the spirit of this week’s theme I put on some L’Occitane Honey body butter that I bought this winter. It’s nice, but La Myrrhe smells better.
I bet it does!
I love, love La Myrrhe and don’t wear it often enough. Have not really noticed much honey in it.
La Myrrhe smells better than any number of things. Such a great scent
Another fan here!
FYI: I put on 6 sprays! (I’m not working today)
I’m in a few dabs of No 5 today but am participating with a dab of Botrytis on one hand and SL Sarrasins on the other. Sarrasins smells like jasmine steeped in dark honey tp me. I’m also quite liking Botrytis once it settles. It becomes a ittle less sweet. Happy Friday all!
I’m wearing Botrytis on top of last night’s No 5 extrait. I just sniffed my arm and got a little No 5 peeking through, so we might be having similar olfactory experiences. 😉
Funny how different peoples’ “sweet” tolerances are. I’ve discovered I can wear and even love all kinds of perfumes that are sweet – unless it’s a white floral. Sweet white florals I just cannot do.
Ha! Twin, twins ???? I wore the edp+edc last night so refreshed the edp today.
I suppose it depends on the kind of sweet. I can actually do sweet white florals-Sarrasins gets pretty sweet. And dry sweet is more tolerable than syrupy to me usually, though Sarrasins gets a little syrupy.
And thanks for the Botrytis! I actually like it but I dabbed it. It’s not too syrupy and has some other balancing notes like that fermented smell.
I wore Sarrasins last sunday. And I got the honey too. Sometimes I put it on and think ‘grape juice’.
Grape juice and honey both can get that syrupy, slightly acidic vibe.
I’ll have to retry and see if I can conjure grape juice next time. Certainly the color helps.
Generally speaking, I don’t enjoy honey as a perfume note (that’s the polite way of saying I haaaaaaaaaate it. Too often, it smells like something peed on me.)
However, there are exceptions. SOTD is Edward Bess La Femme Boheme, which has lots of honey (not clean either), and jasmine (another of my side-eye notes)… nevertheless, this one really works for me. Nice. Though I am glad it has cooled off here a bit today, I don’t think I could handle this scent in the heat.
Happy Friday, all!
Oh, I’ve been meaning to try that one!
I can send you some… ping me at emc dawt 7 1 1 7 in the land of gmayle.
Agreed on honey. Me no likey either.
I like honey in theory, but I think honey by itself smells like crap on my skin. Honey mixed with tobacco or amber works. Miel de Bois was such a scrubber, I ended up washing the towel I used to dry my hands!!
How great to find a perfume with 2 scary notes that you actually like! I’ve been curious about the Edward Bess line as well. I used to wear a lot of his makeup and it was so thoughtfully made that it gave me some confidence his fragrances might be as well.
His makeup is amazing, isnt’t? I love his foundations and blushes
I’m looking forward to trying his stuff. What’s your favorite of the line?
I like Genre the best (leather, incense, bit o’ ashtray). Bought FB’s of that and La Femme Boheme. Didn’t like Spanish Veil, but that’s just me, not a big fan of vanilla/tonka.
(will have some confessing to do to Donatella this quarter….)
Thanks for sharing your impressions!
I liked Genre the best as well. Was surprised how lukewarm Spanish veil left me, but (thanks to the ever generous Pixel for a sample) will continue testing it.
I’m wearing Prairie Nymph from Smell Bent today. It’s a honey and beeswax bomb. I’m kind of glad honey week is ending. I need a good aldehyde or incense fix.
Prairie Nymph is great! I’d have joined you today, but either the perfume imps or the cats seem to have made off with that bottle, too…
Aldehydes and/or incense can make all right with the world again.
Zoologist Hummingbird. Lots of flowers with a drizzle of honey. It very pretty – not as different as some of the other Zoologist scents.
Robin, are you using any probiotics- even just some kambucha ? I hope you figure out how to deal with the side effects of treatment.
Sometimes, it seems as bad as the disease!
Quick Sniffapalooza mini review. Anat Fritz presented some of her fragrances. She is German and has had her line at niche retailers in the US for 10 years. I liked Tzora, which is citrusy bright with a warm earthy floral dry down. It is one of those scents that you spray and then later wonder who smells so good!
Wait…there is honey in Hummingbird? …I have the sample in my sea of samples in my desk at work…Off I go to spray the top of my hand…thank you for that suggestion, Wendysue!
it is very very sweet!
2nd the kombucha. I used to force myself to down loads of yogurt (which I’m not a fan of) when taking ABs, but kombucha is where it’s at. Anytime I feel like my GI tract is off (I suffered from IBS for many years) I drink kombucha and it fixes me right up.
I didn’t realize Anat Fritz was a person’s name. I learn something new every day here! 🙂
Yes, lots of probiotics, plus kefir & I have an assortment of pickled veg & whatnot. (I drink kombucha once in awhile but mostly prefer kefir.) The meds make me queasy because I take them on an empty stomach or with a very small bite of food, but the probiotics are definitely helping in all the ways they normally do — no gi problems so far.
I didn’t realize Anat Fritz is a real person!
I’m wearing the beautiful musky lemon blossom of SL fleurs de citronierre (probably spelled completely wrong-why did I waste my school days studying German when I could have been learning French?). Like so many SLs it has a lovely honey note, but I’ll switch to a serious honey perfume tonight (ALPLS).
That SL is one I’ve always wanted to try. (And I’m glad I took French in college – in my head I can pronounce perfume names even if I can’t say them aloud the way I want to! 😉 )
The SL whatever-its-spelling sounds gorgeous.
Aside: How is it that APLS can smell so fantastic on you and Holly and stinker_kit, and so abominable on me? (Pouts.) I’m with Deva on Cologne PLS, though; that one works nicely.
What about APLS doesn’t work on your skin? To be honest, I was astonished to find it works so well on me as it’s a helluva bolder than my normal fare!
It’s pure barnyard on me, sadly.
I can absolutely understand how it could skew that way. When I first tried Romanza, I wasn’t sure if I was smelling the newly-mulched garden or my perfume. It was both, but I ended up teetering more towards fascination than repulsion.
I keep trying to wear APLS. With one tiny spray, I end up smelling like a sweaty mans gym shorts. Honestly.
Try one tiny spray…the first time I sprayed I did eight….and boy it smelled like….well, I won’t say-LOL! and Holly told me to go with one spray and that works.
Eight sprays of APLS? (she says in a faint voice…)
I know it’s been discontinued, but if I ever run across it again, maybe I’ll try the teeny-tiniest spritz… For you, Holly, and the Rock the Reek Project, of course. 😀
Rock the Reek Project……love it!!! Wonder if that could be a community project???
I like FdC, and almost never see it mentioned! I should see if there is any left of my decant.
Happy Friday all! Feliz el Cinco de Mayo!
1) When the (former) Mexican Duchy told the French to bug off. It’s important because that is when a sense of national identity was coming into being- not just another Spanish duchy, but a re-awakening and re-imagining of what that nation could be.
2) Rain, thunder and lightening late last night! Thor was VERY busy! back to very cool temps and rain this morning.
3) No honey fragrances in for me today- but I am in Molinard’s Jasmine + my neroli/jasmine body oil.
4) OOTD: Pollera-style top + blue cotton slacks, with black sandals with heels. slicked back hair, red matte lipstick (Julianne Red).
What’s a pollera? : http://panamafolkdress.com/the-pollera-of-panama
Not Mexican(from my mother’s country), but a nod towards Central American cultural in general.
That dress is a work of art!!! (I like the blue one featured at the bottom of the article on the right 🙂 )
They are works of art- and quite expensive (the dresses and tops are made by hand.)
yes, they look handmade…what craftsmanship…. and I imagine they must take a long time to make….absolutely stunning…
Ah, I’ve seen the pollera (and accompanying jewelry) discussed on a travelogue show not long ago. Gorgeous!
They are really beautiful! I wear a less elaborate version and usually wear the top more!
Finally I learned something today! (Because otherwise, got nada). Had never even heard of a pollera.
It’s obscure BUT I do love sharing the knowledge! 🙂
Get better, Robin.
Prepared to work til late at night under an icy cold Fall rain in Back to Black. Black skirt, black boots, black sweater and a gray-pink overcoat. Feeling good today!
Back to Black is beautiful.
You look and smell cosy!
I’m very literal today in Demeter Honey, but I’ll be mining the comments today for new things to try! Honey and beeswax are favorite notes of mine. The Demeter is pretty and cute, but I’d love to find a perfume that captures that tender, intimate scent of an actual jar of honey (especially dark honey, especially warm…)
Demeter Honey is VERY good. Not as complex as Miel de Bois, of course, but at a tiny fraction of the price it’s well worth owning. I haven’t tried their Beeswax yet: I really should.
And might be nice to have minis of honey & beeswax for layering.
Today for the theme I wore Sweet Anthem Edith, which is a cheat I guess because it’s got beeswax, not honey, but it’s a very honeyed beeswax on me, at least. Every time I wear this perfume I’m surprised by how much I love it, and then I wonder why I don’t wear it more often. I’ll have to put it in a more prominent place on my shelf.
Ah, thanks for mentioning that one, I’d completely forgotten about it!
It is a record low here for May 5th today. Highs are in the mid 50s and it’s usually around 80 here this time of year. I am in Chergui and it sure fits the weather today. Happy Friday, NSTers!
Ah yes… well Chergui would have worked for me in our cooler weather as well!! You smell very nice.
Chergui twins!
Cold grey autumn day here in South Oz and Chergui is working perfectly with my coffee this morning.
As a non-participator I’m currently wearing ‘Laudano Nero’ by Tiziana Terenzi.
That one sounds nice!
It’s so good – and a compliment-getter, too!
I am using up a Beige EDT sample today but, like Pixel, honey in perfume is not my favorite…which is to say i kind of abhor it. 😉
yeah, I don’t really like it much either. I tried the MFK Absolue pour le Soir last year and I didn’t enjoy it. Almost made me nauseous. I appreciate it is a well done perfume, but I couldn’t do the honey thing. you are smelling wonderful in Beige.
hey twin! There is a lot of Beige on todays NST SOTD
Elie Saab le Parfum intense today. Along with a headache, but I don’t think they are related since I have been having sleep issues of late.
You smell great! I wore the original ESLP yesterday. Hope your headache and sleep issues both go away!
My skin/nose doesn’t take honey note well, so I normally avoid it. One perfume that I can tolerate is Aftelier Honey Blossom. I have a sample of this, I think, limited edition, so I dared to put it on my wrist for the project. In addition to the note I fear, it has my favorites – linden and mimosa – which helps. I was surprised not to find it mentioned yet: I remember it was getting raving reviews back when released. But maybe somebody wore it earlier during the week? I was busy and couldn’t follow.
Have a sweet weekend everybody!
You are the first one to wear it.
Amazing. I was sure it would be popular with those who likes the note.
Oooh, I have to see if I have this!
I have just a drop left so I can’t even offer it for you to try. But with its price ($180 for 8 ml parfum or 30 ml EdP) maybe it’s for the best if you do not try it? 😉
I checked this morning and I have a sample! Will try it soon!!
SOTD is Chanel Beige, with notes of hawthorn, freesia, frangipani and honey accords. This is one perfume I am really surprised I enjoy, I’m more of a chypre or floriental gal. But it works on my skin and is really long lasting too…
hi twin..we smell so good
We do! happy Friday scent-twin!
I wasn’t feeling honeyish this morning so I applied a little Pulp. I am liking it a lot on the cool, drizzly morning.
Yum!
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Happy Revenge of the Sixth! (For all you Sith out there.)
My May-bee Baby scent for today is L’Occitane Immortelle de Corse, courtesy of the lovely Hajusuuri. Delicious.
Have a wonderful weekend, all you fragrant people!
OMG…do you smell good….hahusuuri sent me that one too and I drained it so fast!!! cause I love immortelle!
I think this one may lead me to search for another immortelle scent or two…
Ha! I must like it a lot somehow because although I don’t recall going “Immortelle -I must try it, ” I have quite a collection of perfumes with immortelle!
AG Sables
AG Nuit Etoilee EDT and EDP
Atelier Blanche Immortelle
Diptyque Volutes
Papillon Anubis
PdE Tabac Tabou
Parfums MDCI Chypre Palatin
and a bunch of decants, including ELDO Tilda Swinton Like This, among others.
???? I will use this list to explore…
Wish they would bring that one back.
Me too, now that I’ve ‘found’ it. [Sigh]
Yay, twins! I was lucky to get my bottle in Brussels, of all places!
Slumberhouse Kiste for honey day. Honey, tobacco, peach, booze. Gorgeous stuff. This may be the first time that using the dabber wand on my tiny sample isn’t a total waste.
I like this so much I’m tempted to get a larger decant but this 1 ml may last for years.
Oh, that sounds really nice!
Wearing NVC Pichola for the first time. I quite like it. A lovely white floral.
You smell amazing!
2nd that!
tiny drops of my shangri la sample, I think it’s honey-ed if not actual honey…
Ooh, yes – I think it’s honeyed too!
Me three. And you smell great.
I could not wear Miel de Bois and ended up selling my bottle. Read somewhere that you have to try and get used to it, and I could not do it. This was pretty much the only scrubber so far for me.
SOTD Peety (not-personalized – just feel I have to clear the air here). Honeyed tobacco
heh
Haha…I wonder if people really personalize it?
I’m surprised anybody is actually trying it and buying a bottle: for me that brand doesn’t exist since I read about their first perfume – even though they do not suggest the same “perdonalization” for other perfumes in the line.
I hope you feel better soon, Robin!
I dithered around today thinking the chilly damp gloom would dissipate and I could do some gardening. I have swarming ground bees in the area that needs attention who are more tranquil after rain. There’s varying info about whether or not they will sting when highly aggravated, and the majority says no but I don’t want to be digging around AND wearing perfume.
Since the gloom hasn’t lifted and I’m feeling particularly cranky, I am staying indoors and testing Heure Exquise edt vs edp, the latter courtesy of CM8 (thanks!) who braved the usual daunting challenge of obtaining a sample from an SA. Will proceed to reak havoc with Prada Candy and Pluriel Feminin a little later.
Rummaging around in my feeble brain, contenders for today’s theme if I was not on track with surfing The Sample Sea would have included Hanbury, Mitzah (thanks, Wendysue!) Prairie Nymph, APLS, Demeter’s Honey and their Beeswax and probably a bunch of other things that are just not surfacing. I’ve only come around to liking sweeter notes and gourmands in the last year after decades of preferring mainly green and floral fragrances, so I’m enjoying discovering what else is out there with a honey note.
You smell great and I hope both versions of HE lift your spirits!!!
(and how I obtained that sample is the SA at SFA, NYC felt bad when I told her it was my bday but she did not have an HE sample so she intentionally looked the other way while I pulled a “hajusuuri” and whipped out my own empty vial and decanted)…..
keep calm and reek on, my friend 🙂
You know, that should be the tag line of NST. I love it!
😀
🙂
It’s been a busy week for me, but I’ve loved wearing comforting honey or beeswax perfumes for most of the week. Today I’m in Back to Black, which is all about honey. Yesterday was spent in Journey Woman and a late evening dab of Farnesiana extrait just because. Wednesday I wore one of my favorite Sweet Anthem perfumes, Joan. It has a beautiful long-lasting beeswax note. Sadly, it hasn’t been offered for sale ever since the company ownership changed hands.
So glad it’s Friday! Have a good day all!
I did not know Sweet Anthem had changed hands! When was that?
About a year and a half ago, I think. It’s now based in Portland instead of Seattle. I haven’t bought anything since, but there has been some good press on the new collection. Sample order soon maybe…
SOTD = L’Occitane Immortelle de Corse
Resinous honey-sweet musky yellow floral. Kevin described it best:
https://nstperfume.com/2011/11/02/loccitane-immortelle-de-corse-fragrance-review/
YUM YUM YUM YUM….. and that is all I have to say 🙂
Yum back at you!
Twins! (Wouldn’t have been possible if you hadn’t so kindly sent me some.????) You smell great! …I most likely wouldn’t have tried it otherwise, but I really like it, so thanks again!
You’re welcome – happy to share!
Needed to stand my ground today, so skipped the honey and went for Aromatics Elixir.
World, you’ve been warned…
I’m several states away so I’m good.
😀
5th of May is Liberation Day in The Netherlands. So I decided to LIBERATE my house from a lot of junk. 🙂
I gathered boxes and sacks full of old papers, letters, old bills (why do I keep those, when they are already paid??!?), magazines, books, books more books and also ‘stuff’ (pens, note books, old cds, photos, work stuff and the list goes on).
I managed to bring a lot of it to recycle station at the corner of my block.
I am not done yet (I still have hundreds of music cd’s to go through), but I am satisfied with the results so far.
Just had beers with friends at the local cafe/bar, wearing Encre Noir.
Husband is cooking pasta right now and I am lying on the couch. A bit tired haha.
After diner I will look for a scent with honey!
Oh and yay for friday night. 😀 Enjoy your weekend NST!!!
Congrats on the liberation! And sounds like you’re having a great weekend already 🙂
Thank you Kpaint, and yes it sure is a great beginning of the weekend!
Found a scent with honey:
I just put on a small dab of Cuir au Miel, by Sultan Pasha Attars
I am not that good in picking apart notes, especially with SPA, (they can be pretty rich)!
But I get blossoms in the opening, it soon gets sweeter when the honey appears.
And now: all sorts of woody (oud) and animalic/musky smells. Very smooth and warm.
Hmmm cuddly. I like it a lot!
I am going to check fragrantica…and try to learn. There is so much going on haha!
I had a hair liberation appointment at my hairdresser today 😉
🙂 hahaha
I hope the liberation had good results!
So yes, there is a lot going on in Cuir Au miel.
I found the details on Kafkaeque’s blog:
“Top: Linden Blossom, Orange Blossom.
Middle: Taif Rose, Cananga, Aged Hindi oud, Honey.
Base: Aged Cambodi Oud, Mysore Sandalwood, Osmanthus, Beeswax absolute, 20-year-old Patchouli, Hyraceum, Castoreum, Musk gazelle, Civet, Siamese Benzoin, Labdanum, Tobacco, and finally Leather.”
Wow. That sounds like quite a note line-up. I couldn’t imagine it being anything but rich.
You go girl! I went through sonething similar a little over 2 years. My siblings and I and a nephew went through my dad’s stuff over the holidays, donated most of his clothes to a church thrift shop and since I was home anyway (cancelled vacation), i purged papers (statements, receipts, etc), over 400 books and then it got too much to go through music CDs and movie DVDs.
Actually participating today in Ginestet Botrytis. Perfect for a blustery spring day. I bought this for last fall’s splitmeet and drenched myself in it with every decant (the sprayer’s AWFUL.) Thus, I massively overdosed on it and haven’t really worn it since, but today it smells really really good.
Husband is building my secretary desk as I write this. Hoping to get all the moving business wrapped up by Sunday. *fingers crossed*
Happy Friday, all, and good to hear you’re on the mend, Robin.
Hello there! You asked about Kingston Ferry ( I think ) so I am wearing my sample. It doesn’t smell of a marina or boats to me, that is there is none of that pitch tar or diesel undertone. But I’m not sure if it is meant to. To me it is a slightly spiced green ( imagine a vegetarian stir fry without the burnt oil or soy sauce). Or imagine leaves on trees that you really only smell when you crush them in your hand, and they are a bit peppery, a bit ‘ stem’ like, not really bitter but just leafy. I almost get a licorice or anise smell. It becomes less green and more peppery on the skin as it settles. Maybe a hint of a water vibe…mist or rain. More a walk through wet bush/ forest than anything.
Love Botrytis. That’s what I had planned for today but the chill morning made me crave something spicier so I ended up in Chergui instead.
I was reading too late last night to comment, so I wanted to add today that I am super-impressed at all the organizing you did!
Thanks!
Without even thinking about it wore some honeyed perfumes this week. Journey woman, tobacco Rose which is beeswax but has a not too sweet honeyed vibe to it, and whichever Anatole Lebreton is full of honey. Bois de something. Too lazy to go look! My other note of the week appears to have been osmanthus, which is in Journey and also Rahele and Kimonanthe, both of which saw action this week. Oh and the new Dusita, Douceur de Siam. I wasn’t a big fan of her first three, but this one is awesome and slightly less speedy than the others.
Oh and no odmanthus in the Dusita. I just remembered that I used up my sample this week and really really liked it.
I really like Douceur de Siam as well. It’s less expensive because it’s an EDP as opposed to an extrait. I did find that the EDP lasted about half the time as her extraits do on my skin.
Ah duh of course. It lasted a long time on me, but it is less intense than the others for sure. Maybe this is part of why I like it better? I like Issara but it doesn’t seem special enough for the price.
SOTD and honey #5 is Maria Candida Gentile “Hanbury”.
Top: lime, bitter orange and orange;
Mid: mimosa, honey and calycanthus (whatever that might be);
Base: musk and benzoin.
Sadly, I don’t like this one so much. When I eventually get my selection pack of MCG minis, it won’t include Hanbury. I can however console myself with the 50ml of Fracas I got after dithering between that and Bandit. :^)
Definitely get Sideris in your sample back. It’s gorgeous and wonderful in the summer. It’s one of my top perfumes.
For sure! :^)
Co-sign Sideris!
I actually really liked Hanbury but:
1) it made me sneeze a lot
2) the musk in the far drydown suddenly registered as clean laundry to me one day.
So I swapped it away ☹️
A number of MCG perfumes make me sneeze, even ones I like a lot. What’s that about I wonder?
I think Hanbury is the only one that I owned that did that. It made someone else in close proximity to me sneeze. I wonder if it’s some sort of naturals she uses? Her stuff smells to me like she uses a goodly amount of naturals.
Fracas is good consolation!
Congrats on the Fracas! I’m going to put some on to salute you! 😉
Morning, good morning. A busy weekend lies ahead, with assignments to mark. They must be returned on Monday….why, oh why, do I set interesting but intricate-to-mark assignments? I’m helping myself focus by bravely wearing Back to Black on one arm and Chergui on the other. I smell like the assignments: not necessarily good, but interesting and intricate. The two scents aren’t combining, but they are weaving around one another like two scarves twisted together and worn as one for the sake of their contrasting colours. This experiment falls into the category of, “I probably will never do this again as long as I live, but I’m pleased to have tried it once.”
You’ve joined the reeking havoc club. Congratulations!
I decided to double up on the honey today. I’m wearing Tea for Two, with the last little bits of my Demeter Honey sample on my hands and the undersides of my forearms. I smell pretty yummy, if I do say so myself. 🙂
I have Tea for Two! Didn’t realize there was honey in it.
I love those honey bottles! I have one for home and at work for my tea. There’s so much to love about honey: the smell, the taste, the color, the word.. it’s just a wonderful thing and I really need to add more honey scents to my collection. Chergui is the only scent I have with honey, I think, and I’m not even wearing it today.
SOTD: VC+A’s Moonlight Patchouli (mr. nose just asked me to “please scrub that one off!” .. (insert eye roll))
Been a very hard work week, getting ready to go take a nap and not sure I’ll be getting up until tomorrow…
PS. trying a wonderful new edition to Endangered Species Chocolate called Dark Choc with Cinnamon, Cayenne & Cherries — highly recommend!
Oh that chocolate!!! sounds yummy!! I love chocolate with spices and the spicier the better!
Aww yeaa spicy chocolate is the best.
When I make hot chocolate I always put in a pinch of cayenne or chili and a pinch of cinnamon. 🙂
yum
Thanks for the heads-up on the chocolate… I will have to keep an eye out for that.
I went with Estée Lauder Sensuous, because I’m late getting my allergy shot this week and need something quiet. There is allegedly honey in the base, although Sensuous is so well-blended I’d be hard-pressed to pick out any particular note. I think I can smell it, but I may just be suggestible. I have some Smell Bent Prairie Nymph that I’ll add later, to more fully embrace the theme. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Tomorrow I’ll be going directly from a six-year-old’s birthday party to a memorial service. I am currently battling the song “Circle of Life,” which is threatening to become an earworm.
Earworms can become so annoying!
And it always happens to songs I dont like (of course…).
Blithely sprayed Van Cleef & Arpels’ California Reverie, thinking, “I nailed the honey challenge” while inhaling my arm and then remembered “Oh yeah, it’s beeswax, not honey” in California Reverie. Failed the assignment, but the beauty.
*but enjoying the beauty.
you get points in my book
Points for trying 😉
You passed 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Oh, we are not so picky as that!
Whew! 😉
My decant of L’Eau d’Hiver is but a fading memory, and I don’t think anything in my current wardrobe has a honey note. So, rather than resort to “cheating” with beeswax notes, I am playing along by wearing a bit of Orange Blossom and Honey hand lotion from The Naked Bee. The tube is at least a couple of years old, and the lotion smells more waxy/plasticky than it did when it was fresh.
Was it wonderful when it was new? Because that sounds nice.
Yes! It was reminiscent of Séville à l’Aube (of which I have never owned more than a sample).
Robin, I hope that the Miel de Bois has calmed down somewhat, and that you are feeling better!
SOTD = Gucci by Gucci EdP 2007, in the brown bottle, from the sample stash. I get a GIGANTIC wallop of something sweet after I apply this. It’s very close to the edge of my tolerance for sweet. Fortunately, the drydown is much calmer and drier.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I threw out the blotter! Then my kitchen smelled of it for half the day.
And I am better. In the mornings I am queasy, in the afternoons I am tired — that’s about how it goes right now.
No honey for me today. eau d’orange verte shower gel and then byredo belle de tanger.
Is the shower gel the Hermes? I really like the cologne; I should probably get the gel or soap…
Yes, it is the Hermes!
Wearing Chanel Beige as my work appropriate SOYD
hi twin!
