Friday scent of the day 5/5

Posted by Robin on 5 May 2017 350 Comments

Happy Cinco de Mayo, and happy May-bee Baby Friday! Our community project for today: wear a honey fragrance, or a fragrance with a honey note. Thanks to happy888cat for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I was going to out-honey everyone today with Serge Lutens Miel de Bois, but I'm not quite up to it this morning. I've got a bit on a blotter, and even that is not making me very happy. I predict I will go commando today.

Reminder: 5/12 will be Lessons Learned Friday...wear a fragrance that taught you something you didn't know about yourself, about fragrance, anything! Suggested by Floragal.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Note: you can buy the honey bear bottles at The Cary Company.

I’m wearing Miel de Bois for the both of us, then. It’s the honeyest thing imaginable. I really love it.

Oh good then! I love it too, but it does not mix well with early morning antibiotics on an empty stomach.

Can you comment on accusations of urine notes in that one? I haven’t tried it, and am a bit afraid to.

I’ve heard people who’ve tried the older version and the newer bell-jar version say it’s been reformed and de-peed- which for them was a bad thing. I personally smelled a very tame honey in a new bell jar (and no pee).

    Hello honey bees.
I can hear your happy buzzing!

I’m in Anatole Lebreton’s Bois Lumiere. Lots of honey, immortelle, beeswax in this one.

    Beige EDP, my wedding perfume

I didn’t get a chance to answer the questions from yesterday, I am not sure what version of heure exquise I tried at Annick Goutal, probably the EDP I am guessing. It was love at first sniff. But I didn’t buy it.

Yesterday I went to FM, superstitious was a complete no for me. I did love L’hiver. Wandered into Diptyque, was a complete fail. Didn’t sniff anything I liked.

I didn’t find anything at Elisa’s P gem perfume store that I wanted to purchase on the spot. I sat on my hands when I saw an old Shalimar bottle. I also noticed a bottle of Insolence which I have never smelled before, I gave that one a test and I got 2 compliments on the subway and then again on the escalator.

Sadly, my staycation is over. I am parenting solo as my better half is away. Made my own tea this morning. I got a bit weepy when my partner left this morning; he is leaving and I will miss him and coupled with the fact that my vacation is over and my FIL is gone as well. Here I am , all alone. But I have my little Buddhas so I will be ok.

Beige….I tried it for the first time yesterday….exquisite…I could definitely see that as a wedding scent.

To me Heure Exquise edt is sharper and greener…the edp is rounder, sweeter and softer….I like both but if I had to choose it would be the latter..

I think you need to go back and get that bottle of Insolence, given the number of compliments you got!

sorry your staycation is over…but spending quality time alone with your little ones is priceless…..enjoy them as they grow up so fast……

Oh and I forgot to say that I loved L’Hiver too! When I told the dark haired SA with the French accent who played along with me as I practiced my rusty French on her that it was my birthday she gave me a sample of L’Hiver and my girlfriend a sample of that AND En Passant! Those samples are quite large and the presentation is lovely….Superstitious was potent! We only smelled it on a card as we had no more skin left to try it on!

In my experience I find that SAs are incredibly stingy nowadays…..as opposed to 35 years ago when they would practically throw the samples at you in dept stores.

I am going to chime in and agree with the analysis of Heure Exquise. Also, the edp has more pronounced rose accords. They are different in how they were too with the edt haveing a bit more of that bitter vegetal Goutal aldehyde…. so you may want to make sure you know before you buy. For sure they are both gorgeous – HE is one of my holy grail fragrances and my first galbanum love.

Thanks for the clarification, Ann! My sample, which I’ve had forever, must be the edt then because it is so bitter and sour on me that I’ve never been able to understand the HE love. Must order the edp!

The delicious honey baked pastries aroma of 4160 Tuesday’s Over the Chocolate Shop for me today. It’s such a shame it never quite made it into full production, so I don’t wear it too often because I’ll never get another bottle.

If I remember correctly (and it’s a few years ago now), one of the ingredients Sarah used became too expensive to make it commercially viable. So it went into the naughty box section of the 4160 Tuesdays online shop and it’s never been seen since!

Happy Friday everyone! Wearing just one single spray of Serge Lutens Miel de Bois. One of the few SL that it is not easy for me to wear. Sometimes, I get lots of woods and honey which I appreciate. Other times I just get cat urine. It lasts forever and has a great sillage. At least, today I am liking what I am smelling and I am very thankful for it.

Last night post shower a tiny spray of APLS …mmm…..

This morning I decided to test my mini of Coeur de Parfum (Jacomo) that was part of my birthday extravaganza package……this smells like a classic beauty although it came out in the 1980s…wondering if it has real oakmoss and Mysore sandalwood in it…also, found this great review-

    https://memoryofscent.com/2014/04/27/smells-of-geneva-jacomo-coeur-de-parfum-and-the-smell-of-the-escalade/

At work applied Cimabue (DSH) to both arms…because it has honey/beeswax…so delicious but sits close to the skin…I am extremely impressed with the DSH offerings I have tried either on skin or sniffed from the vials thus far.

    Happy Friday , y’all!

    peace love light

Sorry you not feeling well, Robin. I do not have Miel de Bois, but it was the first SL I tried, and, as a big fan of honey scent, I was deeply impressed. Too bad it was discontinued later and became both hard to find and often very expensive.
My SOTD is Phaedon Tabac Rouge (although I also considered Botrytis (honeybomb!), Ambre Narguile and Chergui). It’s a lovely blend of honey, tobacco and spices. More honey than tobacco!

There is a definitive powdery note to it – much more Osmanthus ( like Daim Blond) than hard edged leather.

Very well blended, you get a hum of tobacco rather than the blast many brands ( looking at you Tom Ford) put in their fragrances.

Melon is a listed note I do not pick up at all.

Disclaimer – I am a real fan of this house as all of their scents work wonderfully on my skin.
        I highly recommend it

Bottle is beautiful and I do not really go for sparkles or glitz usually. I would love to try the rose and the cassis but sample are pricey and the one time I got a few too small to get a good read on. I do not think it will be in a swap anytime soon ha,ha,ha

Finally got a real night’s sleep! Even if that means passing out with my phone in my hand as I was responding to the lovely commenters who wished me well last night.

I feel very rested but I think I ended up on the side of my face where I had my extractions. Some light pain over yesterday but everything looks the same.

Wearing a generous spray of Absolue pour le Soir today. Love it.

I’m planning to hit up the new local Le Labo boutique that opened up in Houston. Does that mean we’re getting a city exclusive??? I’ll buy y’all samples if that’s the case.

Also, long comment is long but I got my box of Angel chocolates yesterday. They are wow, but for some reason I was unrealistically surprised by how small they were. I would buu them again if I didn’t have to pay for shipping. The middle note one with cotton candy should be a mandatory tasting. (I’m still not sure I know what patchouli tastes like though.)

Montrose, of course! On Westheimer, next to the old American Apparel. Elizabeth helped me and she is so sweet. Sadly samples aren’t free (Estee would roll in her grave!) but I had to support them with a 15ml bottle purchase. It is very fun to watch them full the bottle.

Wow I didn’t know we had a Le Labo boutique! I need to go check it out! I’ve been kind of wanting a 15ml of Patchouli 24, so maybe that’ll be my excuse.

It would be kinda cool if we got a city exclusive.

Also glad you’re feeling a bit better!

Nice choice! I had my husband smell that one on me a while back, thinking he’d like it because he looooves grilling and smoking meat, eating bacon etc. He made a face and when I said, “but I thought you liked the smell of hickory smoke”, he said “I do, but they shouldn’t have ruined it by adding perfume to it”.
          Sigh.

Houston is getting a city exclusive! I’m pretty sure he (the Le Labo sales associate by me) said they’re bringing back Aldehyde 44 which used to be the Dallas city exclusive, but then when they closed the Barney’s there they discontinued it. Also, there is going to be a city exclusive for Amsterdam as well. Cannabis 420?

The rep I talked to was asked about what scents encapsulated Houston and she said magnolia. She definitely expressed disinterest in getting Dallas’s old exclusive (there’s a weird beef between Dallas and Houston). I think Dallas will get its own store eventually.

My sympathies Robin, I am feeling dodgy this morning too, most likely what the French describe as a “crise de foie” after a too-rich quiche last night. Wearing a small spritz of Wazamba on one wrist and a spritz of Chergui on the other.

Love the honey bear photo today which brings back happy memories of road trips as a kid. Those ceramic cow creamers are another favorite of mine.

I am commando right now as well. “Something” is “out for delivery” to me, but don’t know if it will make it to me before I leave.

Severe weather has delayed my trip but I changed my ferry reservation to 4pm today and hoping the delay will give enough time for the weather to calm a bit. Who wants to be on a ferry for two and a half hours with active tornado warning, high wind advisories, and rough surf? No thank you! I want to keep my breakfast in my belly????Hope everyone is able to avoid the flooding and unfriendly weather!

Happy honey Friday and hope this leads to a sweet weekend for all!

Since it is freezing and cold and dreary here today, I’m sadly not wearing what I had originally planned in MAC Naked Honey as a celebration of bounteous spring, but rather my SOTD and likely until tomorrow morning is Amouage Memoir Woman. If there is a honey note in there, that would be great. Maybe I can say there might be a smidge of the more animalistic honey? But I really need that warm, cozy, smokey leather today!!!

No honey for me today. I’m nursing a perfume hangover from yesterday. I was at Kohl’s and stopped to look at the perfumes. I sprayed some on the strips, and about three on my already fragrant arms. Then I saw the clearance bin. For some reason I decided to spray a ton of YSL Manifesto, that’s when it tried to kill me. I ended up in bed with a massive headache, and nausea, promising I would NEVER wear perfume again. I’m feeling mostly better now. Wearing a tiny spritz of Ed Hardy Love and Luck. A real light orange scent.

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

Decided to just go with Amoureuse today instead of scrambling about in my sample pile. Mom may or may not (the medical staff has changed their minds, no kidding, three 3! times already since yesterday afternoon) be moving to the rehab center today, so I probably will not make the hour’s drive to see her until she’s settled in at rehab. She doesn’t like white florals, so I don’t want to inflict Amoureuse on her anyway.

I have had Amoureuse for a long time and one of the few fragrances I have a back-up for. However, I have neglected it lately. This morning (after a late night and little sleep) I again forgot about the Friday fragrance. My selection of perfume today is credited to Sebastian Jara, as I watched his review of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid vs. Tiziana Terenzi’s Maremma. So I am in Maremma (which I’m fairly certain is devoid of honey).

May 5… Cinco de Mayo AND the day that Chanel No. 5 was launched…

I completely and unreservedly planned to wear Chergui today. The cold grey morning just confirmed it. With that distinct satisfaction that comes with 1) remembering the community project, 2) having something that fits, and 3) wanting to wear said something that actually fits…. I applied my perfume.. Huh? What is this? This is NOT Chergui!!!! Ah well. I forgot I switched out my winters for springs for some perfumes… an lo and behold I am now afloat in A la nuit… the bottles looks the same to a perfumista in a rush…

Maybe its just rationalizing, but I am actually getting a honey note in A la nuit….

After some serious research into whether I actually had anything with a honey note in it, I’ve ended up choosing La Myrrhe. I can’t quite detect the honey but apparently it’s there. It’s gorgeous though. To really enter into the spirit of this week’s theme I put on some L’Occitane Honey body butter that I bought this winter. It’s nice, but La Myrrhe smells better.

I’m in a few dabs of No 5 today but am participating with a dab of Botrytis on one hand and SL Sarrasins on the other. Sarrasins smells like jasmine steeped in dark honey tp me. I’m also quite liking Botrytis once it settles. It becomes a ittle less sweet. Happy Friday all!

I’m wearing Botrytis on top of last night’s No 5 extrait. I just sniffed my arm and got a little No 5 peeking through, so we might be having similar olfactory experiences. 😉

Funny how different peoples’ “sweet” tolerances are. I’ve discovered I can wear and even love all kinds of perfumes that are sweet – unless it’s a white floral. Sweet white florals I just cannot do.

Ha! Twin, twins ???? I wore the edp+edc last night so refreshed the edp today.
I suppose it depends on the kind of sweet. I can actually do sweet white florals-Sarrasins gets pretty sweet. And dry sweet is more tolerable than syrupy to me usually, though Sarrasins gets a little syrupy.
And thanks for the Botrytis! I actually like it but I dabbed it. It’s not too syrupy and has some other balancing notes like that fermented smell.

I wore Sarrasins last sunday. And I got the honey too. Sometimes I put it on and think ‘grape juice’.

Grape juice and honey both can get that syrupy, slightly acidic vibe.

Generally speaking, I don’t enjoy honey as a perfume note (that’s the polite way of saying I haaaaaaaaaate it. Too often, it smells like something peed on me.)

However, there are exceptions. SOTD is Edward Bess La Femme Boheme, which has lots of honey (not clean either), and jasmine (another of my side-eye notes)… nevertheless, this one really works for me. Nice. Though I am glad it has cooled off here a bit today, I don’t think I could handle this scent in the heat.

    Happy Friday, all!

How great to find a perfume with 2 scary notes that you actually like! I’ve been curious about the Edward Bess line as well. I used to wear a lot of his makeup and it was so thoughtfully made that it gave me some confidence his fragrances might be as well.

Robin, are you using any probiotics- even just some kambucha ? I hope you figure out how to deal with the side effects of treatment.
Sometimes, it seems as bad as the disease!

Quick Sniffapalooza mini review. Anat Fritz presented some of her fragrances. She is German and has had her line at niche retailers in the US for 10 years. I liked Tzora, which is citrusy bright with a warm earthy floral dry down. It is one of those scents that you spray and then later wonder who smells so good!

2nd the kombucha. I used to force myself to down loads of yogurt (which I’m not a fan of) when taking ABs, but kombucha is where it’s at. Anytime I feel like my GI tract is off (I suffered from IBS for many years) I drink kombucha and it fixes me right up.

Yes, lots of probiotics, plus kefir & I have an assortment of pickled veg & whatnot. (I drink kombucha once in awhile but mostly prefer kefir.) The meds make me queasy because I take them on an empty stomach or with a very small bite of food, but the probiotics are definitely helping in all the ways they normally do — no gi problems so far.

I can absolutely understand how it could skew that way. When I first tried Romanza, I wasn’t sure if I was smelling the newly-mulched garden or my perfume. It was both, but I ended up teetering more towards fascination than repulsion.

Happy Friday all! Feliz el Cinco de Mayo!

    1) When the (former) Mexican Duchy told the French to bug off. It’s important because that is when a sense of national identity was coming into being- not just another Spanish duchy, but a re-awakening and re-imagining of what that nation could be.

    2) Rain, thunder and lightening late last night! Thor was VERY busy! back to very cool temps and rain this morning.

    3) No honey fragrances in for me today- but I am in Molinard’s Jasmine + my neroli/jasmine body oil.

    4) OOTD: Pollera-style top + blue cotton slacks, with black sandals with heels. slicked back hair, red matte lipstick (Julianne Red).

    What’s a pollera? : http://panamafolkdress.com/the-pollera-of-panama

I’m very literal today in Demeter Honey, but I’ll be mining the comments today for new things to try! Honey and beeswax are favorite notes of mine. The Demeter is pretty and cute, but I’d love to find a perfume that captures that tender, intimate scent of an actual jar of honey (especially dark honey, especially warm…)

Today for the theme I wore Sweet Anthem Edith, which is a cheat I guess because it’s got beeswax, not honey, but it’s a very honeyed beeswax on me, at least. Every time I wear this perfume I’m surprised by how much I love it, and then I wonder why I don’t wear it more often. I’ll have to put it in a more prominent place on my shelf.

My skin/nose doesn’t take honey note well, so I normally avoid it. One perfume that I can tolerate is Aftelier Honey Blossom. I have a sample of this, I think, limited edition, so I dared to put it on my wrist for the project. In addition to the note I fear, it has my favorites – linden and mimosa – which helps. I was surprised not to find it mentioned yet: I remember it was getting raving reviews back when released. But maybe somebody wore it earlier during the week? I was busy and couldn’t follow.
    Have a sweet weekend everybody!

Slumberhouse Kiste for honey day. Honey, tobacco, peach, booze. Gorgeous stuff. This may be the first time that using the dabber wand on my tiny sample isn’t a total waste.
I like this so much I’m tempted to get a larger decant but this 1 ml may last for years.

SOTD Peety (not-personalized – just feel I have to clear the air here). Honeyed tobacco

I’m surprised anybody is actually trying it and buying a bottle: for me that brand doesn’t exist since I read about their first perfume – even though they do not suggest the same “perdonalization” for other perfumes in the line.

I hope you feel better soon, Robin!

I dithered around today thinking the chilly damp gloom would dissipate and I could do some gardening. I have swarming ground bees in the area that needs attention who are more tranquil after rain. There’s varying info about whether or not they will sting when highly aggravated, and the majority says no but I don’t want to be digging around AND wearing perfume.

Since the gloom hasn’t lifted and I’m feeling particularly cranky, I am staying indoors and testing Heure Exquise edt vs edp, the latter courtesy of CM8 (thanks!) who braved the usual daunting challenge of obtaining a sample from an SA. Will proceed to reak havoc with Prada Candy and Pluriel Feminin a little later.

Rummaging around in my feeble brain, contenders for today’s theme if I was not on track with surfing The Sample Sea would have included Hanbury, Mitzah (thanks, Wendysue!) Prairie Nymph, APLS, Demeter’s Honey and their Beeswax and probably a bunch of other things that are just not surfacing. I’ve only come around to liking sweeter notes and gourmands in the last year after decades of preferring mainly green and floral fragrances, so I’m enjoying discovering what else is out there with a honey note.

(and how I obtained that sample is the SA at SFA, NYC felt bad when I told her it was my bday but she did not have an HE sample so she intentionally looked the other way while I pulled a “hajusuuri” and whipped out my own empty vial and decanted)…..

It’s been a busy week for me, but I’ve loved wearing comforting honey or beeswax perfumes for most of the week. Today I’m in Back to Black, which is all about honey. Yesterday was spent in Journey Woman and a late evening dab of Farnesiana extrait just because. Wednesday I wore one of my favorite Sweet Anthem perfumes, Joan. It has a beautiful long-lasting beeswax note. Sadly, it hasn’t been offered for sale ever since the company ownership changed hands.

So glad it’s Friday! Have a good day all!

5th of May is Liberation Day in The Netherlands. So I decided to LIBERATE my house from a lot of junk. 🙂

I gathered boxes and sacks full of old papers, letters, old bills (why do I keep those, when they are already paid??!?), magazines, books, books more books and also ‘stuff’ (pens, note books, old cds, photos, work stuff and the list goes on).

I managed to bring a lot of it to recycle station at the corner of my block.
I am not done yet (I still have hundreds of music cd’s to go through), but I am satisfied with the results so far.

Just had beers with friends at the local cafe/bar, wearing Encre Noir.

Husband is cooking pasta right now and I am lying on the couch. A bit tired haha.
After diner I will look for a scent with honey!

Oh and yay for friday night. 😀 Enjoy your weekend NST!!!

Thank you Kpaint, and yes it sure is a great beginning of the weekend!

        Found a scent with honey:

I just put on a small dab of Cuir au Miel, by Sultan Pasha Attars

I am not that good in picking apart notes, especially with SPA, (they can be pretty rich)!
But I get blossoms in the opening, it soon gets sweeter when the honey appears.
And now: all sorts of woody (oud) and animalic/musky smells. Very smooth and warm.
Hmmm cuddly. I like it a lot!

I am going to check fragrantica…and try to learn. There is so much going on haha!

I found the details on Kafkaeque’s blog:

      “Top: Linden Blossom, Orange Blossom.
Middle: Taif Rose, Cananga, Aged Hindi oud, Honey.
Base: Aged Cambodi Oud, Mysore Sandalwood, Osmanthus, Beeswax absolute, 20-year-old Patchouli, Hyraceum, Castoreum, Musk gazelle, Civet, Siamese Benzoin, Labdanum, Tobacco, and finally Leather.”

My siblings and I and a nephew went through my dad’s stuff over the holidays, donated most of his clothes to a church thrift shop and since I was home anyway (cancelled vacation), i purged papers (statements, receipts, etc), over 400 books and then it got too much to go through music CDs and movie DVDs.

Actually participating today in Ginestet Botrytis. Perfect for a blustery spring day. I bought this for last fall’s splitmeet and drenched myself in it with every decant (the sprayer’s AWFUL.) Thus, I massively overdosed on it and haven’t really worn it since, but today it smells really really good.

Husband is building my secretary desk as I write this. Hoping to get all the moving business wrapped up by Sunday. *fingers crossed*

Happy Friday, all, and good to hear you’re on the mend, Robin.

Hello there! You asked about Kingston Ferry ( I think ) so I am wearing my sample. It doesn’t smell of a marina or boats to me, that is there is none of that pitch tar or diesel undertone. But I’m not sure if it is meant to. To me it is a slightly spiced green ( imagine a vegetarian stir fry without the burnt oil or soy sauce). Or imagine leaves on trees that you really only smell when you crush them in your hand, and they are a bit peppery, a bit ‘ stem’ like, not really bitter but just leafy. I almost get a licorice or anise smell. It becomes less green and more peppery on the skin as it settles. Maybe a hint of a water vibe…mist or rain. More a walk through wet bush/ forest than anything.

Without even thinking about it wore some honeyed perfumes this week. Journey woman, tobacco Rose which is beeswax but has a not too sweet honeyed vibe to it, and whichever Anatole Lebreton is full of honey. Bois de something. Too lazy to go look! My other note of the week appears to have been osmanthus, which is in Journey and also Rahele and Kimonanthe, both of which saw action this week. Oh and the new Dusita, Douceur de Siam. I wasn’t a big fan of her first three, but this one is awesome and slightly less speedy than the others.

I really like Douceur de Siam as well. It’s less expensive because it’s an EDP as opposed to an extrait. I did find that the EDP lasted about half the time as her extraits do on my skin.

Ah duh of course. It lasted a long time on me, but it is less intense than the others for sure. Maybe this is part of why I like it better? I like Issara but it doesn’t seem special enough for the price.

SOTD and honey #5 is Maria Candida Gentile “Hanbury”.

    Top: lime, bitter orange and orange;
    Mid: mimosa, honey and calycanthus (whatever that might be);
    Base: musk and benzoin.

Sadly, I don’t like this one so much. When I eventually get my selection pack of MCG minis, it won’t include Hanbury. I can however console myself with the 50ml of Fracas I got after dithering between that and Bandit. :^)

Morning, good morning. A busy weekend lies ahead, with assignments to mark. They must be returned on Monday….why, oh why, do I set interesting but intricate-to-mark assignments? I’m helping myself focus by bravely wearing Back to Black on one arm and Chergui on the other. I smell like the assignments: not necessarily good, but interesting and intricate. The two scents aren’t combining, but they are weaving around one another like two scarves twisted together and worn as one for the sake of their contrasting colours. This experiment falls into the category of, “I probably will never do this again as long as I live, but I’m pleased to have tried it once.”

I love those honey bottles! I have one for home and at work for my tea. There’s so much to love about honey: the smell, the taste, the color, the word.. it’s just a wonderful thing and I really need to add more honey scents to my collection. Chergui is the only scent I have with honey, I think, and I’m not even wearing it today.

SOTD: VC+A’s Moonlight Patchouli (mr. nose just asked me to “please scrub that one off!” .. (insert eye roll))

Been a very hard work week, getting ready to go take a nap and not sure I’ll be getting up until tomorrow…

I went with Estée Lauder Sensuous, because I’m late getting my allergy shot this week and need something quiet. There is allegedly honey in the base, although Sensuous is so well-blended I’d be hard-pressed to pick out any particular note. I think I can smell it, but I may just be suggestible. I have some Smell Bent Prairie Nymph that I’ll add later, to more fully embrace the theme. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Tomorrow I’ll be going directly from a six-year-old’s birthday party to a memorial service. I am currently battling the song “Circle of Life,” which is threatening to become an earworm.

My decant of L’Eau d’Hiver is but a fading memory, and I don’t think anything in my current wardrobe has a honey note. So, rather than resort to “cheating” with beeswax notes, I am playing along by wearing a bit of Orange Blossom and Honey hand lotion from The Naked Bee. The tube is at least a couple of years old, and the lotion smells more waxy/plasticky than it did when it was fresh.

Was it wonderful when it was new? Because that sounds nice.

Yes! It was reminiscent of Séville à l’Aube (of which I have never owned more than a sample).

Robin, I hope that the Miel de Bois has calmed down somewhat, and that you are feeling better!

SOTD = Gucci by Gucci EdP 2007, in the brown bottle, from the sample stash. I get a GIGANTIC wallop of something sweet after I apply this. It’s very close to the edge of my tolerance for sweet. Fortunately, the drydown is much calmer and drier.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I threw out the blotter! Then my kitchen smelled of it for half the day.

And I am better. In the mornings I am queasy, in the afternoons I am tired — that’s about how it goes right now.

Is the shower gel the Hermes? I really like the cologne; I should probably get the gel or soap…
