1/25: Wear one of your favorite fragrances of this winter (unless it's summer where you are, in which case wear one of your favorite scents of this summer)
2/1: February is Cherry Month...to celebrate, wear a fragrance with a cherry or cherry blossom note.
2/8: Fire and Ice...wear something that keeps you warm in winter (Fire) OR wear something that reminds you of snow and chilly winter air (Ice). Suggested by Glannys.
2/15: Wear a natural perfume, if you have one. Suggested by chocolatemarzipan8.
2/22: For Margarita Day, wear a fragrance with lime or salt or both.
3/1: Wear a fragrance by Floris, Fragonard or Frapin, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter F.
3/8: Happy International Women's Day! Wear a fragrance that honors the holiday.
3/15: Wear a fragrance by Olivier Cresp or Olivier Gillotin, if you have one.
3/22: Celebrate the arrival of spring by wearing your favorite spring fragrance. (If it's fall where you are, you know what to do.)
3/29: Wear an orange blossom or neroli fragrance, if you have one.
4/5: Wear a fragrance by Gallivant, Grès, Ginestet, Grossmith or Grandiflora, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter G.
4/12: Platonic Ideal Friday! Wear your platonic ideal of X (and X can be anything: yourself, a note, a fragrance family, a style or characteristic — be as creative as you like). (You can find an easy definition of platonic ideal here.) Suggested by Jalapeno and Koyel.
4/19: Twice as Nice Friday: wear a fragrance that you've purchased more than once (a scent that you used up and bought again, or a scent for which you've already got a backup bottle). If you don't have such a fragrance, wear the scent you'd be most likely to rebuy. Suggested by thegoddessrena.
4/26: Picture challenge, edition 4, part 1. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Georgia O'Keeffe's My Shanty. You can read more about the painting here and here. There is a short bit on her time at Lake George here. (This is part 1 because we are going to do another O'Keeffe later in the year.)
5/3: For May Day (which is really on Wednesday) wear lily of the valley.
5/10: Wear a fragrance by Heeley, Hiram Green, Histoires de Parfums or Honoré des Prés, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter H.
5/17: By request, a repeat of our cheap thrills special: wear something that costs $50 or below, double bonus points if it costs $25 or below. No points for wearing something expensive that you bought cheaply via a sample or decant or somesuch! We're trying to find real bargains here.
5/24: It's Bob Dylan's birthday! Match a fragrance to a Bob Dylan song, OR, tell us who YOUR favorite musical artist is and match a fragrance to one of his/her/their songs.
5/31: For World No Tobacco Day, compensate by wearing something smoky (it doesn't have to smell like tobacco in particular).
6/7: Wear a fragrance by Ineke, Imaginary Authors, il Profumo or i Profumi di Firenze, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter I.
6/14: Picture challenge, edition 4, part 2 (you can find part 1 here). Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Georgia O'Keeffe's Blue and Green Music. You can find snippets about this painting here and here.
6/21: Mark the solstice by wearing your favorite fragrance of summer (or winter) 2019.
6/28: Time Travel Friday...wear a perfume that takes you back in time, or reminds you of something / somewhere in your past. It does not have to be a perfume you wore in the past! Suggested by chocolatemarzipan8.
7/5: Dealer's Choice, edition 3: propose a theme for a Friday community project, and wear a fragrance that fits your theme. (We did this in 2015 and 2017.)
7/12: It's Henry David Thoreau's birthday, aka Simplicity Day. Do absolutely whatever you like with the theme.
7/19: Wear a fragrance by Jo Loves, Jack Perfumes, Jardins D’Écrivains, Jul et Mad or Juliette Has A Gun, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter J.
7/26: Gone In Sixty Seconds...wear the shortest-lived fragrance you own. Bonus points for reapplying all day long. Suggested by pyramus.
8/2: Guessing Game Friday, edition 3: describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we'll see if we can guess what it is. Suggested by Glannys.
8/9: For National Book Lovers Day, wear a fragrance inspired by an author or a book or a character in a book.
8/16: Wear a fragrance by Kerosene, Keiko Mecheri or Kai, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter K.
8/23: Nouveau Niche...wear a fragrance from a new (2017 or after) indie or niche brand.
8/30: For National Slinky Day, wear your most frivolous fragrance. Extra points if it's frivolous AND an enduring classic.
9/6: Best in Class: you decide the category, then wear the best.
9/13: For Friday the 13th, protect yourself from bad juju with a Fierce Force Field Fragrance. Adapted from a suggestion by chocolatemarzipan.
9/20: Wear a fragrance by Laboratorio Olfattivo, Lubin, La Via del Profumo, Les Parfums de Rosine or Liquides Imaginaires, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter L.
9/27: Flavortown: wear a scent that you associate with one of the five basic tastes (sweet, sour, salty, umami or bitter). Triple bonus points for starting on Monday and doing all 5. Suggested by Regina.
10/4: It's World Animal Day! Do what you like with the theme.
10/11: To celebrate National Apple Month, wear a perfume with an apple note.
10/18: Wear a fragrance by Maria Candida Gentile, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, Memo Paris or Miller et Bertaux if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter M.
10/25: For International Artist's Day, match a fragrance with an artist or work of art, and tell us about it!
11/1: Wear a fragrance with dried fruits, if you have one.
11/8: Art House / Stunt Perfume Friday...wear a fragrance that you find weird and wonderful but that might not be appreciated by anyone but another perfumista. Bonus points if you've ever received a spontaneous negative response or odd question and still wear it! Suggested by HemlockSillage.
11/15: Wear a fragrance by Chanel, if you have one. (This is a repeat from 2014.)
11/22: Wear a fragrance by Nasomatto, Neela Vermeire Créations, Naomi Goodsir, Nest or Nobile 1942, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter N.
11/29: Pick your Black Friday poison: wear the last fragrance you bought, wear a cheap thrill, or wear a fragrance you love but refuse to buy in a full size because it's too expensive.
12/6: Scents of the Season, part 1: wear something that smells like evergreens, or has an evergreen note. Suggested by thegoddessrena.
12/13: Scents of the Season, part 2: wear something that smells like baked goods, or has a baked goods accord, or just reminds you of holiday baking. Suggested by thegoddessrena.
12/20: De-stress Friday (a repeat from 2014)...as we approach the holidays, wear something that keeps you tranquil and relaxed.
12/27: Best of 2019...wear one of your favorite fragrance releases of 2019.
