2022 ~ finished
1/7: Wear a fragrance to match Very Peri, Pantone's color of the year for 2022. ("Displaying a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit, inquisitive and intriguing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives. Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light. We are living in transformative times. PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri is a symbol of the global zeitgeist of the moment and the transition we are going through. As we emerge from an intense period of isolation, our notions and standards are changing, and our physical and digital lives have merged in new ways. Digital design helps us to stretch the limits of reality, opening the door to a dynamic virtual world where we can explore and create new color possibilities. With trends in gaming, the expanding popularity of the metaverse and rising artistic community in the digital space PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri illustrates the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa.") 1/28: It's Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette's birthday. Do whatever you like with the theme (wear a fragrance inspired by Colette or one of her characters? scent a character? scent Leslie Caron in the movie Gigi? Or wear Guerlain Jicky, which Colette is said to have worn.)
2/4: To welcome the Year of Tiger, wear a fragrance that projects or inspires power, bravery, self-confidence and ambition.
2/11: Duet Friday: wear two perfumes, one on each wrist or arm. You can choose two that seem made for each other, that bring out something special in each other, or that compete for the spotlight? (Suggested by Kanuka, who listed as inspiration Lakme’s flower duet, Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood singing Jackson, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett crooning softly in your ear, Billy Idol and Miley Cyrus belting out Rebel Yell.)
2/18: Testing, testing, 1 2 3. Wear a perfume (or more than one) that you have never worn before, and tell us about it. (This is almost certainly a repeat.)
2/25: For George Harrison's birthday, tell us a favorite George Harrison or Beatles song and wear the fragrance that matches the song. (Adapted from a suggestion by Old Herbaceous. We did a similar project for John Lennon in 2020.)
3/4: March is Women's History Month. In 2018 we marked the occasion by wearing a fragrance by perfumer Germaine Cellier or Josephine Catapano; this time around, wear a perfume by your favorite female perfumer.
3/11: It's the two year anniversary of the day the WHO declared the Covid-19 pandemic. Wear whatever fragrance you think fits.
3/18: Green Friday: wear a green perfume (St. Patrick's Day is on Thursday so maybe wear 2 in a row? This is a repeat from 2014)

4/1: April Fools Day! We're going for pure fun today: wear your most-fun-ever perfume. (This is a repeat from 2016)
4/8: It's Jacques Brel’s birthday. If you like, tell us about a favorite Jacques Brel song and wear the fragrance to match. If you don't like, wear whatever you want.
4/15: It's Tax Day in the US. Pick your poison: wear the fragrance (presumably from a sample) you'd buy if you had an unexpected windfall, or wear a cheap thrill.
4/22: Wear a fragrance with a narcissus note, if you have one.
4/29: Picture Challenge, edition 7: Hilma af Klint, The Ten Largest. For background, see Wikipedia, ‘Hilma Who?’ No More at The New York Times, Hilma af Klint: The enigmatic vision of a mystic at BBC, or Hilma af Klint’s ‘miraculous’ art: ‘In dialogue with spirits, she found her own voice’ at The Guardian. On Youtube, see this 7 minute introduction from the Guggenheim, or a one minute introduction to The Ten Largest from Art Gallery of NSW. The Moderna Museet Malmö has an entire playlist on Hilma af Klint (with English subtitles), including a 2 minute introduction to The Ten Largest.

Old age, No. 9 and 10.
5/6: Wear a fragrance by Cartier, if you have one.
5/13: Happy World Cocktail Day! Our community project for today: tell us about your favorite cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), provide a recipe if you like, and wear a perfume that would complement your choice or that picks up one of the notes in your cocktail. It doesn't have to be a boozy fragrance! (This is a repeat from 2018, and we also did a booze cruise in 2017).
5/20: For World Bee Day, wear a fragrance with a honey note or wear a fragrance inspired by wildflowers, or celebrate World Bee Day in some other way. (We did a honey project in 2017.)
5/27: It's Memorial Day weekend in the US. On Monday, we'll observe Memorial Day, but for today, we're celebrating the holiday's other meaning, as the unofficial beginning of summer. 6/24: Midsummer 2022. The solstice is on the 21st, but traditional Midsummer (in some countries, anyway) will be celebrated on the 24th. Wear what you'd wear to dance around a Maypole or light a bonfire on the beach, or whatever you think fits.
7/1: Rabbit rabbit rabbit! It's July, and Canada Day. Also, International Reggae Day, National Gingersnap Day and International Joke Day. Birthdays: George Sand, Estée Lauder, Debbie Harry, Princess Diana. Pick an occasion (it doesn't have to be listed here!) and a fragrance to match, and tell us about it.
7/8: For Kevin Bacon's birthday, we're doing a variation on six degrees of separation. In place of film, you can use perfumer and/or brand, and we're starting with Chanel No. 5. Can you get to the fragrance you want to wear without going more than six steps from Chanel No. 5? (example: Chanel No. 5 -> Chanel Paris Paris (by Olivier Polge) -> Burberry Brit Rhythm (by Olivier Polge, Dominique Ropion & Anne Flipo -> L'Artisan Ananas Fizz (by Anne Flipo) -> L'Artisan Timbuktu (by Bertrand Duchaufour) -> Aedes Copal Azur; that would be 5 degrees of separation.)

8/12: Wear a fragrance with a magnolia note, if you have one
8/19: It's Coco Chanel’s birthday. We've done two Chanel projects in the past (see 2014 and 2019). If you're up for a third, wear something by Chanel, with double points for wearing No. 19. If you're not up for a third, vote with your fragrance: wear a brand that you think deserves more attention. Suggested by Dawn.
8/26: It's difficult, part 1: wear a fragrance that you'd recommend as a good introduction to a note that some people find difficult.
9/2: It's the start of Labor Day weekend. As we did in 2021, take a break from community projects and wear what you want.

9/16: Wear something by Etat Libre d'Orange. Suggested by Oakland Fresca and seconded by MadtownGirl, AnnE and Kris.

10/14: Indie / Nouveau Niche Friday....wear a fragrance from an indie / niche brand. Extra points if it was launched after the last time we did this project in 2019. (We've done several of these in the past, too.) Adapted from a suggestion by hajusuuri.
10/21: For Ursula LeGuin's birthday choose a work of speculative fiction or a character from such a work, and wear the fragrance that you think fits. Your chosen work can be written, audio or visual. 10/28: Wear a fragrance with geranium leaf, if you have one.
11/4: It's National Candy Day. Wear a fragrance inspired by candy, or wear Prada Candy or any other fragrance named for a candy of any kind, or forget the gourmands but wear a fragrance with at least one note that recalls a flavor in one of your favorite candies.
11/11: Wear something simple and comforting. Suggested by Cobrarose.
11/18: Wear a fragrance with a peppercorn note...pink (aka schinus molle or baies rose), black or white.
11/25: Pick your Black Friday poison: wear the last fragrance you bought, wear a cheap thrill, or wear a fragrance you love but refuse to buy in a full size because it's too expensive. (We've done this project several times.)

12/30: Best of 2022...wear your favorite new release of the year, or your favorite purchase of the year, or the fragrance you wore the most in 2022, or interpret this project however you like.
