Selected quotes
To me, it has been very clear that consumers are less fragrance-friendly because they're confused by too many offerings, too many launches, too many flankers, too many summer editions. It would be great if all of us in the industry took a hiatus and reconvened in a year with a clear head and fresh ideas. I'm not kidding - a year without one single launch could prove very, very healthy! Call me crazy, but I'm certain I could find legions to support the idea. — from "Interviews: Rodrigo Flores-Roux" at the Fragrance Foundation (link no longer active, sorry).
Lily-of-the-valley, or muguet, is not known in Mexico, and even if I had been told at school that the words "solifore muguet" described Diorissimo, it became apparent that thanks to the presence of jasmine, illusion and magic could happen in this wonderful craft called perfume making: You think you smell muguet, but what you are really reacting to is, yet again, Monsieur Jasmin and his art of seduction, playing a dusky bass under the sparkling sherzo of lilies. In my personal Pantheon of perfect perfumes, Diorissimo holds court as indisputable king. — From Jasmine: The Flower of Flowers, Perfumer & Flavorist, Vol 34, October 2009.
