Xinu ~ new niche brand

Posted by Robin on 8 December 2016 13 Comments

Xinú Aguamadera and OroNardo

Xinú (nose in Otomi) is a new Mexican botanical niche line debuting with three fragrances: Aguamadera, Copála and OroNardo. The bottles are designed for easy repurposing (see below).

Aguamadera (above left) ~ 'fresh and refined', with agave, cedar, lime and guiac.

Copála (not shown) ~ 'mystical and intriguing', with pink pepper, copal, mesquite and Mexican vanilla.

OroNardo (above right) ~ 'luminous and elegant', with mock orange, queen of the night flower, marigold, Mexican tuberose and oleander.

Xinú bottle reuse

Xinú Aguamadera, Copála and OroNardo are currently available only at the brand's boutique in Mexico City, in 50 or 85 ml.

Update: all three fragrances were developed by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux.

Cool bottles… so I guess they are splash? Or the sprayer unscrews? I like it and it’s the first Mexican perfume I’ve heard of.

I do not really know if they’re splash but would think so (?)

There is also Coqui Coqui, which is based in the Yucatan, but pretty sure that brand was started by a couple of expats from New York.

And adding — pretty sure but not positive that Rodrigo Flores-Roux (the only Mexican perfumer I’ve heard of) did at least one or maybe all of these.

Should be the winner of Bottle of the Year! Do you do that category Robin in your end of year lists?

The bottles are beautiful and the OroNardo in particular sounds lovely to me. Mock Orange is one of my favorite things to smell here in SoCal.

The bottles are great, and they’re only launching three new fragrances. I’m ready to give them some kind of award right now.
