Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge & Santal Blush ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 23 August 2011 23 Comments

Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge & Santal Blush

Tom Ford has launched two new fragrances in the Private Blend collection, Jasmin Rouge and Santal Blush:

Jasmin Rouge ~ "Voluptuous. Sensuous. Audacious. Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge is a saturated, spiced floral. An unexpected blend of precious sambac jasmine sepals absolute, an ingredient never used before in perfumery with dusky clary sage and rich spices, it unveils a new facet of jasmine's erotic decadence. Jasmin Rouge is as audacious as lacquered red lips. Its deep red bottle evokes lush and hedonistic glamour."

Santal Blush ~ "Mesmerizing. Exotic. Mysterious. Tom Ford Santal Blush is a spicy wood oriental. A textured fusion of creamy sandalwood and exotic Eastern spices is enhanced with intoxicating florals and sumptuous woods to create soft, naked glamour with a mysterious spirit of modern earthiness. Its nude juice and blush-colored packaging are as sensual as a beautifully contoured face."

Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge and Santal Blush are available in 50 ($195) or 250 ($475) ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at Nordstrom.

Jasmin Rouge sounds divine, and the bottle has me swooning. Time to decide which of my kidneys will have to be sold to afford a bottle.

Tom Ford’s fragrances have been generally disappointing for me but those bottles always make me start hunting on *bay for empties, in case they might be a little cheaper.

oooh, excellent idea! The only TF that has ever done anything for me was Tobacco Vanille; the rest leave me unmoved, though I can tell they’re nicely done. Kind of cold somehow.

Luckily, I’ve liked his regular signature line better than his Private Blend…but even then, I don’t own a single Tom Ford. Will certainly try these though!

I was lucky to work next to the Tom Ford counter for a a while…they offer pretty generous samples when available. These scents are so hearty it really takes only a drop. The price of these does deter me, as my nose is pretty fickle. I did end up with all three of the Chloe Eau de Fleurs collection though. Ha!

Both of these are definitely intriguing!

Oh dear. These both sound wonderful. And I’m on a tight budget. Still…there’s TPC, TPP, samples and decants to play with!

Huge deterrent for me too. I do like the Oud Wood, but not that much.

Santal Blush is calling my name – hey, the name alone is calling my name. I own White Suede (a relative snip on Ebay, I hasten to add) so I have previous for succumbing to a purchase of this line(!), and woody orientals are one of my favourite fragrance families.

J’ADORE!!!!!!!!!! Tom Ford Does No Wrong! :-) With these and Violet Blonde my Tom Ford Cup is Runneth-ing (LOL) Over! :-D I LOVE Champaca Absolute, Tobacco Vanille, Amber Absolute, Velvet Gardenia, Japon Noir… all of his fragrances are SOOOOO up My Alley i can’t even begin to fathom how i would ever afford all of them… but, saving my pennies to try! BTW… That Santal Blush Bottle is so Deliciously Exquisite I might have to go find another job or 4 (LOL) to feed my TF Fragrance Addiction…. LORDY ALMIGHTY!

Both sound very interesting and worth sniffing. That price really is a deterrent; I’d rather buy up a bunch of exquisite Lutens scents for 60% of these prices. But I guess it’s all relative at this point.

Also curious about that Violet Blonde that’s coming out in the regular line.

Joe: you need to sneak on over to your Nordstrom and do some sniffing for us! A mini review would be very helpful.

Based on those descriptions Tom Ford *needs* to produce ad visuals. Imagine the models and art direction…!

That would be fantastic, though sadly he only seems to do ads for certain fragrances in the line.

Finally they have arrived! So excited for these am hoping they will be more like the ones I love (tobac vanille, noir d noir, japon noir, champaca, arabian wood, etc) than Lavender Palm was, didn’t love it. And am holding high hoped for Violet Blonde!

Looking forward to these, but I’m sure already know that given the HUGE TF fan I am. Tried the Violet Blonde and I loved it!

Just sprayed Santal blush…eeep, love and it is strong and long lasting…it is reminding me of Santal Blanc so at that price…definately no need! Love the violet blonde, but it is on the other hand and dwarfed by the Sblush Jasmin rouge is pretty….but it didn’t wow me and I smelled the Aqua di Parma from the lid and felt it is something I have smelled somewhere before. Do need to test both on the skin.

Trying to save my pennies for Jasmin Rouge. It is amazing! Got a sample today at Neiman Marcus for Neroli Portofino and it will also be added to my Tom Ford favorite list. Oh well, if I can’t be rich, at least I can smell like I am. Scent from above:)
