Wow, they chose an incredibly tall, model thin blonde tv star to host-who is 50 or over! Pretty non-age biased for an industry who regards Beyonce’s contemporaries as part of its “older” demographic.
I love Glee! Awards ceremonies are usually pretty dull, so I’d guess they go for someone who they think will be entertaining. Can’t remember who it was last year though.
I keep my fingers crossed for Prada Candy to earn a reward, this perfume deserves it!
There are several nice ones in that category — Violet Blonde & Bottega Veneta are worthy.
Yes, Prada Candy, BV & Violet Blonde were all good mainstream scents! I hope one of them wins.
Awww! Prada Candy made it 🙂 This makes me happy. The fact that “Pulse” made the list as well makes me want to sniff it. I’ve tended to avoid her ‘frumes b/c the first 3 all smelled the same to me. Perhaps “Pulse” will surprise me.
I’m happy for Prada Candy too!
You never know.
Not to offend anyone and I honestly have not sniffed them; but Beyonce, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift are Luxe?
They are prestige fragrances sold in more than 250 stores — that’s all it takes.
it’ seems like stretching the term a little bit doesn’t it! I suppose these awards are either bought from marketing budgets, or swayed by corporate politics.
Caron Yuzu doesn’t deserve a nomination not even my closet best fragrance…
*dons on her orchid enthusiast hat* slightly ironic that they chose to feature a flower completely devoid of fragrance in that banner.
I actually quite liked Givenchy’s Dahlia Noir, myself. Very nice scent, maybe ven FB worthy. Which surprised me a little since Givenchy and I have not always been cordial to one another, but this may be the start of a lovely new relationship!
Not a *single* fragrance from Mona di Orio’s Les Nombres d’Or collection made the cut? What an outrage! Oud and Vanille are absolutely brilliant, and Vetyver and Tuberose are lovely as well. Are Mona’s scents simply TOO niche to be nominated for a Fifi? This is a rather disappointing list. Will cheer for MMM, Bottega Veneta, and By Killian Incense Oud to win, as these were the only standouts on the list for me among the nominees.
I doubt they were even entered in the list — usually this is just mainstream fragrances. If they entered at all, it probably would have been for an indie Fifi.
Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Toit is considered a men’s fragrance?
It is unisex, but there is no unisex category. In that case companies can enter into both or just one gender category, I think it’s their choice.
My Hopes for the winners of each Category…
Either Bottega Veneta or Elie Saab…. Both MIRACLES Of Scent
Either Gucci Guilty or A*Men Pure Havane
Either Dahlia Noir or Live In Love (MASTERPIECE)
and Sweet Redemption!
and so tired of ANYTHING Glee and especially Jane Lynch i Could PLOTZ!!!!!!
Though not a fan of patchouli and therefore not a wearer of Bottega Veneta; I thought it should be a nominee because the dry down is complex and lovely. After Keiko Mecheri’s Isles de Lointaines, Violet Blond is right up there for me. One of the few Ford fragrances that isn’t over the top and in your face. Hated Dahlia Noir and Elie Saab smells like burnt rubber on me, but that’s how it goes-they do or they don’t.
YAYYY for Bottega Veneta, Beyonce Pulse and Prada Candy!!! I hope Beyonce gets it, though. Either her or Bottega Veneta. Both COTY scents : ).
