Caron Yuzu Man ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 24 March 2011 17 Comments

Caron Yuzu Man fragrance

Caron will launch Yuzu Man in April, although it is not expected to reach the US until the fall. The new citrus scent is styled as "the fragrance for universal man in touch with nature".

Yuzu Man was developed by Caron house perfumer Richard Fraysse, and the notes include yuzu, verbena, basil, fig, lentiscus, cedar and sandalwood.

Caron Yuzu Man will be available in 125 ml Eau de Toilette. (via Diane Haska at Caron NYC)

Yuzu and fig, from Caron, hm? Could be lovely. What is lentiscus?

Good one, Ann! You’re cracking me up, especially since my son and I are always chuckling at all the Zuzu pet commercials on kids’ TV. And then of course, there’s Isuzu, as in cars …

Sounds like a great one for my husband to try — we just found out that he loves fig! He likes it pretty mean and green though.

Hmmm … Diptyque’s Oyedo has yuzu in it — wonder if it will give this a a similar bright, fizzy feel? Sounds interesting though …

Amazing, how long since Caron launched a new male fragrance? L’Anarchiste over a decade ago (discounting the Impact version of the original Pour Homme)? If only because of that this will be worth trying, but then I like Yuzu too, so doubly worth trying.

Yum. This sounds really good and the fig in it might make it work for autumn, too. Caron Zeste Mandarine Pamplemousse is still on my to try list since the notes for that one look nice as well. Oyedo is one of my fave citruses and I love yuzu as a note.

Oooh! A figgey yuzu eau de cologne sounds intriguing. I’ll have to seek this one out. Caron scents are tough to find these days.

I tried fresh Yuzu in Japan a few years ago, and it’s such a wonderful citrus – somewhere between a lemon and a lime but more gentle…? I’m usually disappointed in Yuzu translated into fragrances but I’m always up to keep trying!
