Original Penguin for Men by Original Penguin ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 8 March 2011 13 Comments

Original Penguin by Original Penguin

Perry Ellis-owned American clothing brand Original Penguin, best known for their men's golf shirts, has launched their debut fragrance, Original Penguin for Men. A women's fragrance is expected to follow later in the year.

Original Penguin, a true American classic.

Original Penguin may have made its mark in the 1950s, but it continues to live on today. This fresh, contemporary oriental fragrance is the perfect blend of heritage, wit and innovation. The fragrance opens with fresh, captivating hints of Mediterranean neroli and golden apple. A dynamic infusion of lavender, fir and black pepper captures the heart of the scent. Finely wrapped and finished with vanilla, patchouli and musk, it leaves a memorable and long-lasting impression. Experience the first fragrance from Original Penguin—distinctive, refreshing and undeniably addictive.

Original Penguin for Men by Original Penguin is available now at Nordstrom, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via nordstrom)

Original Penguin is one of my favorite, favorite brands to wear. I had no idea about a fragrance, though. The notes don’t sound groundbreaking, but I’m happy it’s not a typical men’s-marketed “sport” scent. I’m gonna do my best to get over to the mall and sample this before next week. Thanks for posting this! :-)

Interesting — I had never heard of them! Hope you like the scent.

You need to visit discount stores more often Robin!
You cannot miss that logo on hoodies and unattractive shirts. I personally have never seen clothing from that brand sell at higher end stores, so I don’t understand how Nordstrom agreed to launch it.

Nordstrom appears to carry some but not much of the line, but they do have a few shirts & some hi top sneakers. They don’t look too cheap to me!

Sounds okay, but the bottle—nice! I’m totally digging that cap. I hope it makes a nice “click” when you place it on the bottle…

I really do not have a bottle fetish. :)

Dee, I love this bottle, too.
      That penguin logo is adorable.
My teenage son loves penguins, but I have a feeling that he and the scent would not be a good match. Looks to be a bit grown-upish for him.
I like it when the caps click in to place, too.

Maybe you have a little cap fetish? Just a little one?

A lot of fraternity boys I went to college wore this clothing line. I just kind of imagine ‘frat boy’ scent when I see this and it makes me cringe.

Too bad Burgess Meredith is no longer with us…the Penguin from the old Batman TV series. He’d make a great celebrity spokesman!
