2. Replaces the category "Unique Boutique". Indie Brand is supposed to include new or emerging brands (on the market 1-2 years). Note that this category is unchanged from the semi-finals since there were fewer than 5 to begin with.
Robin, I think it is Acqua di Giola by Armani rather than good, old AcQua di Gio. ??
Thank you so much, fixed!
Of course, I should have written GIOIA, especially, when correcting someone. So many problems with the name , this frag is not worth it!
Sorry!
Oh, no worries, I appreciate that you noticed the mistake!
Even though Hermès Voyage d’Hermès did not work out for me – DH was not a big fan and it only lasted for an hour on me at best, I thought the scent was wonderful and the bottle is amazing. I really hope it wins. I am curious about it being a unisex fragrance and how it got decided to be nominated into the women’s category. I noticed there is no unisex category. Maybe because of the lack of quality releases?
They don’t do a unisex category, and I do assume because there aren’t enough of them to bother. So Voyage was nominated for both women’s & men’s, and I figured it would get knocked out of one category before the last round but it’s still there! Would love to see it win in the women’s, there’s nothing else worthy there. In the men’s, it’s got some stiffer competition from Bang. But what I like rarely wins a Fifi!
Booo on Chanel Blue! Such a safe bland fragrance! Totally forgetabble…Reminds me of the 1969 Grammy Awards when they could have given it to Van Morrison for “Astral Weeks” (one of the best records of all time) and they gave it to Glen Campbell for “By the Time I get to Phoenix.” Oh the humanity of it all…
Mainstream acceptance is not always a blessing, IMHO! I would say it is better all around that Glen Campbell got the Grammy (and anyway I like Glen Campbell, even if yes, Astral Weeks is genius and By the Time I Get to Phoenix is not really genius), and the same goes for the Fifis…they aren’t really set up to reward the most excellent juice in the way that your average perfumista would interpret the term, and I think that’s fine. The Fragrance Foundation sticks with their mission, and that’s as it should be. (all IMHO, obviously)
I’m very happy for Mandy Aftel, she deserves to win!
She’s got a 75% chance 😉
Hermès, Bond Nº 9 and Prada, the power trio always on the lists…
🙂
Oh I forgot something!! It’s a quartet: Tom Ford is part of the group… 😉
“Consumer voting,” does that mean us?
Yep!
AGAIN with the gucci guilty and chance eau tendre, which is a shameles copy of marc jacobs’s daisy, which – if i’m not mistaken – won a fifi two years ago! I hope any of the others wins in that category (go voyage d’hermes!) and, in women’s specialty luxe, i’m hoping balenciaga paris gets the prize, as it deserves much recognition, imo 🙂
