Christian Dior J’Adore l’Or ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 27 September 2010 18 Comments

Christian Dior J'Adore l'Or fragrance

Christian Dior has launched J'Adore l'Or, a new flanker to 1999's J'Adore fragrance for women:

The legendary perfume is re-born with a unique oriental interpretation of the classic J'Adore floral bouquet. Created by Dior perfumer François Demachy, new J'Adore l'Or is a nod to the art of haute perfumery with exclusive ingredients for the House of Dior. The sensual blend of Rose de Mai, jasmine and vanilla absolutes is carefully hand-packaged and delivered in a couture gift box for the ultimate touch of luxury.

Additional notes include tonka bean, patchouli and labdanum.

Christian Dior J'Adore L'Or is available in 40 ml Essence de Parfum, and can be found now at Nordstrom for $95. (via nordstrom, additional information via naegelestrubell.at, with many thanks to jonr951 for the news!)

Hm. I have stalked people wearing J’Adore. This actually sounds pretty great.

I want to know what they mean by “essence de parfum”…read somewhere that it has a “silky texture”, which might mean silicone rather than alcohol base.

Okay, somebody educate me. Why would it be bad if it was made with silicone instead of alcohol? I’m still a beginner; this sounded like a potentially GOOD thing to me…

I personally have not had much luck w/ the shelf life of silicone perfumes — although my sample size is 2, which isn’t very many! And of course, I use things up VERY slowly because I have so much.

I blew through two bottles of the original J’Adore when it first launched back in the 90’s. This sounds gorgeous and I can’t wait to try it. And the price isn’t too bad, either.

It’s not a bad price at all.

J’Adore is one of my favorites. Used to be my signature scent for a while. I would love to try this. Not too crazy abt the Rose, but the rest of the stuff sounds interesting.

J’Adore was so lovely in the early 00’s. I shouldn’t care one way or the other, but I do hope that this new flanker smells good, at the very least as an homage to what J’Adore used to be.
    I still like the bottle!

Dior is really flankering the hell out of this aren’t they?

I used to like this when it first came out, but now (atleast here in Miami) every woman I encounter seems to wear this. It sorts of annoys me now.

The word seems to be that J’Adore L’Absolu (spelling?) is very good, better, even, than the original. I thought L’Eau was pretty ordinary. Let’s see what this one is like. At least it doesn’t have a pretty pink bow tied around its neck, like Pleasures Bloom.

Yea, I heard that L’Absolu was really good, too. I’ve been wondering about that one for a while.

Doesn’t this one sort of… step on the toes of L’Absolu? Isn’t L’Absolu supposed to be the “upscale” version with Rose de Mai and more Jasmine?

Anyone have any idea how these would compare?

L’Absolue was announced as a limited edition, so don’t know how much longer it will be around. This one is probably limited edition too, for that matter.
