Victorinox Snow Flower & Snow Power ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 September 2010 38 Comments

Victorinox Snow Flower & Snow Power

Victorinox has launched two new limited edition fragrances, Snow Flower for Women and Snow Power For Men:

The unique Victorinox Swiss Unlimited Snow Flower and Snow Power fragrances expresses [sic] winter’s most wonderful moments, while offering textured packaging, a twist on/off-system to prevent cap loss and an attached carbineer for carrying ease.

And for the very first time Victorinox introduces a women’s fragrance to the Victorinox Swiss Unlimited family. The scent of Snow Flower unites freezing white snow with a warm nose of orris, vanilla and woods. Snow Power unites vetiver and cedarwood likened to the scent of fresh wood crackling in the fireplace.

Victorinox Snow Flower and Snow Power are $55 each for 30 ml, concentration unknown. In the US, they are exclusive to Bloomingdale's. (via press release)

Cute, but figures that the boy gets the power and the girl gets the flower, LOL…

If I were in the ‘freezing white snow’, I’d want a ‘warm nose’ for sure! 🙂

Good to know you can attach the bottle to your climbing harness via the carbineer. What else would you want, half way up a rockface, but a quick refresh of your perfume? And textured, so you don’t get it mixed up with all those other bottles dangling off your belt!

It threw me, too. There’s a place in Newfoundland (where I grew up) called Carbonear, which is pronounced like “carbineer” is spelled, and that’s the first thing I thought of. And then I couldn’t think of what they were talking about.

Plus, it looks in that photo like the bottles are holding hands, which is adorable.

LOL! I originally spelled it ‘carabiniere’, which is probably an Italian policeman, then I looked at the ad-copy and slunk back to change it. Anyone got a definitive version?

Iris has been calling me like no ones business these days–the girly one sounds nice, but what the heck? Flower and Power? Really?

I do love my little Prada atomizer with the caribeener-like clip attached. But it’s more re-spritzing after a meeting than half-way through a climb.

On a hike last weekend I wore SL Sa Majeste la Rose (TS promised that it would keep bugs away in TG), but that bottle annoyingly does not have a caribeener attached 😉

I’ve noticed, especially abroad that some fragrances I have repel insects and some of them don’t.

some perfumes also have some ingrediant spelled along the lines of citronella. you can get citronella oil purposefully to repel insescts. I guess it’s just chance. my Givenchy fresh attitude has something called “hydroxycitronellal” and “citronellol”.

And some scents attract insects like boy howdy. Todd Oldham attracts wasps, which is presumably why they discontinued it.

I’ve noticed that some fragrances with a strong cedar note seem to keep mosquitoes away.

Hmm. Well, I didn’t notice any bugs. It could have been Uncle Serge, or it may just have been a bug-free day 🙂

Such a perfect idea – only miniturize the ‘texturized packaging’ so those of us who use carabine(e)rs for key chains can spritze during our escalator adventures at the mall. Has anyone already marketed a durable mini-spray for keychains?

I Googled it, and apparently it is sahleb or salep (or several other transliterations of the Turkish).

It was a great perfume but, being natural, both expensive and fleeting.

They had a release last year that interested me too…but I’ve never seen this brand anywhere. Of course, now I see the “exclusive to Bloomie’s”…which would explain it. I don’t think I’ve ever stopped by their perfume counter.

Both of these actually sound nice and the price is manageable as well. No Bloomingdale’s near me though.

There are 3 bloomingdales within 30 min of DC that im aware of, if you are actually in DC like your name may indicate. White Flint mall, Friendship Heights, and Tysons corner. This first two are both accessible via Metro.

I knew there was one in Tyson’s but that’s too far for me. I didn’t realize there was one in Friendship Heights. That’s not far at all! Thanks for the heads up. I’m not very shopping conscious. I’ll have to take a trip up there.

In the true spirit of Victorinox multifunctionality, I think they should make the fragrance useful as a ski wax, sun screen, anti-bacterial hand wash, flame retardant, and insecticide (sp?).

Maybe I will have to brave the Bloomies counter to try these – their SA’s can be a bit pushy. But Snow Flower does sound interesting – freezing snow could come across as too ozonic for me, but you never know.

I’m enjoying all the comments about the functionality of these bottles! At first glance, I was reminded of a car battery w/ jumper cables attached.

I’ve not heard of this company before. Snow Flower sounds interesting though, and it would indeed be wonderful if it actually smelled like snow. I just love that smell in the wintertime, for a week or two anyway. 🙂
