There sure are a lot of people on that jury. Not sure these nominees are the most inspiring choices though. It’s funny, a friend was just talking about how you can tell by the movies we watch that Americans are a bunch of grizzled cynics but the Europeans just want to have a good time. (The comment specifically referred to Cesar nominated Rust & Bone.) I don’t know how true that is, but it sort of seemed that way when I lived in Germany for a stretch during my early 20s. Anyway, that idea also seems borne out by the slate of nominees here.
I don’t know…better wait & see. Usually there is much agreement in the finalist lists of the various Fifi countries, except that each country might add an “extra” because it was made there (hence the J.F. Schwarzlose scents above). And usually the winners are not fragrances that perfumistas find inspiring 🙂
All this makes me want to do is hunt down those J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin fragrances, which will probably never happen. I’m surprised by Florabotanica. That was one of the worst perfumes of the year, for me, and several others I know.
Not sure it was any worse than Coco Noir 🙂
