Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 27 December 2011 16 Comments

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Sport

Issey Miyake will launch L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Sport in March 2012. The new fragrance for men is the latest flanker to 1994's L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme, and hopes to evoke fresh air, sea and wind.

The notes include bergamot, grapefruit, nutmeg, vetiver and cedar.

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Sport will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products.

Update: L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Sport was developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier.

Crazy! this is in my mind the working of crazy crazy marketing people trying to make a buck.

I mean L Eau D Issey has been WILDLY succesful all these years and still sells well.
But it seems that they want more more more with the flanker.
I am Ok with the seasonal flankers, but adding a SPORT tag IMHO cheapens the line. :-P am I overreacting? hehehehehe

Plus HOW can you make this MORE about “fresh air, sea and wind.” isn´t that what this was all about on the first place?

It is true that the original is already pretty much a “sport” fragrance. Guessing still that they will amp up the citrus & make it more bracing, maybe?

But yes…whenever I see a new “sport” scent, I roll my eyes!

If Shalimar was for men, they’d do it!

I actually like the notes.. I am all for amping citrus.. anytime anyday! :-) but about bracing… ok as long as it does not involve mint.
For me Mint= toothpaste or chewing gum

The “sea” scent I like the most is Bulgari aqua… the “posidonia” note makes it smell like the sea for me.. I love it. Might be my next purchase :-)

The “marine” version they put out later is meh.

Bracing was just my guess, mind you!

    Isn’t the Original, sport enough?

I’m a big fan if the original and find it very “sport” already. I guess this is only another attention seeker On the shelves, bearing in mind that flankers are cheaper to produce since the bottle, packaging, etc is already designed..
Despite of the name, I’m intrigued by the notes and will sure try it asap
