Only one on this list I’ve tried is Grey Vetiver and I was so disappointed. Smelled exactly like Lubin’s Vetiver up top and faded to boring in 2.5. And it’s more expensive than the Lubin. Go figure.

yeah, i really like grey vetiver, but i agree on the similarities to the lubin, and plan to replace it with the lubin when i am finished with my bottle of the tom ford.

Ummm, how about “none of the above”? I didn’t genuinely enjoy a single one in the women’s category.

I tried just a few of the above and didn’t like any… And I share the feelings and disappointment of superlong above on Grey Vetiver!

It’s not a very stunning list.

I sniffed Brooklyn and I think I liked it. I will have to dig out my sampler and sniff again. Not familiar with the rest on the list, but I do have Chanel Cristalle Eau Vert in my in my test drive pile. A friend’s kid is selling Avon now and since the Reese Witherspoon frag was nominated in the mass and celeb fragrance categories, perhaps that is the one I should order from him?

I liked Brooklyn, but didn’t love it.

So far I haven’t loved any of them enough to buy them. Goodness knows they have given me enough choices. I like Chinatown and received a bottle as a free gift at Saks once upon a time, but I had a reaction to the things I bought to get the free gift and returned them, so there went my Chinatown bottle. I just wish that the Bond scents faded over time. Next up is Silver Factory.

Julia, I would avoid the Avon Reese thingie. If you order any Avon fragrance, get Far Away. Or even Imari. But run run run from the Reese Witherspoon one. (Unless you liked Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, and then by all means, order away.)

lol – if you really want to try In Bloom, I’ll send you some. I received some as a gift, but I haven’t gone beyond sniffing the bottle cap yet.

Thanks, guys! Maybe I should just go for a lipstick or one of the vinyl tote bags they offer. I thought the 50’s and 60’s bottles were cute.

i like all of the mens choices with the exception of the bond. i remember brooklyn being kinda flat, and having no real presence for me. i currently own the tom ford and the dkny, and both a great for hot weather use.

I was at Ulta sniffing a bottle of Kouros when a man asked me what I was looking for and didn’t seem to think it weird that I was interested in a “man” fragrance. He seemed to be something of a perfumisto and pointed me to the JV Artisan. It surprised me because I don’t really expect much from the selection at Ulta other than the handful of classics they carry. I bought a bottle of Aromatics Elixir.

I agree! With all the caveats (Cristalle Eau Verte has no relationship to the original Cristalle, etc. etc.), I still think it’s lovely!

This is a depressing list. Makes you think there were payoffs. They can’t give a nod to Van Cleef & Arpels’ new line? No, it’s Lola?

Doesn’t depress me at all — this is how all the fragrance awards work, basically. They reward mainstream bestsellers.
