Elizabeth Arden & Britney Spears celebrate fragrance success, CPC Packaging announces Editor’s Choice Awards

Posted by Robin on 9 May 2006 6 Comments

Britney Spears with Fantasy fragranceElizabeth Arden threw a party for Britney Spears yesterday to celebrate the success of her first three fragrance releases, Curious, Fantasy and In Control Curious:

Her first fragrance Curious, became the #1 launch worldwide in 2005, and the only new launch to make the top 20 list globally. In the US, Curious achieved a top 5 fragrance ranking among fragrances launched in the past decade. Over 10 million bottles of the three scents have been sold -- an astonishing number considering that her first fragrance, Curious, was just launched in 2004. (via prnewswire)

According to Women's Wear Daily, we should expect to see a variation on the Fantasy fragrance by October.

CPC Packaging has announced the Editor's Choice Award winners in outstanding commercial beauty packaging for 2005. Five fragrances were selected:

Thierry Mugler Alien
Bond no. 9 Chinatown Crystallized
Hugo Boss Energise
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
La Prairie Silver Rain

Much as I can't stand their namesake, Britney's scents are well done. Curious is not my cup of tea (too floral), but Fantasy and In Control are fun and easy to wear. If anyone asks me what I'm wearing, I just say “Fantasy.” And, I've gotten lots of compliments on it!

these should be renamed to match her life more closely – Peculiar, Nightmare and Out of Control

They are well-done, much more so than I expected they would be.

Congratulations to Laurice and Bond for the award for Chinatown crystallized. It was a masterpiece. Wish I had bought it.

P, it was really a stunning bottle, and I wouldn't mind having one either :-)
