A slideshow round up of recent-ish fragrance advertising, print and digital, plus a few older ads (40 slides in all) — most of these are for fragrances released in stores over the past six months, or just about to be released.
You can click on the Play Slideshow link below to see them all, or click on the arrows to scroll through the thumbnails, or click on the larger image to cycle through the whole list at your own pace.
The tilted visual for Memo French Leather makes me queasy, but most of the other ads bore me. Hermes did some ads with awesome photos of super furry horses. See the third photo down at http://perfumeshrine.blogspot.com/2014/11/hermes-hermessence-cuir-dange-2014.html (the ads might be for their leather goods and not their perfume).
Yep, that’s not for perfume. Hermes does fantastic ads for everything but perfume.
That Fendi ad is definition of “welp” face. She looks pretty unenthused to be reclining in front of a…waterfall? The Bellagio? Wherever she is, it’s awfully uninspired…
Agree! Maybe she’s lying in front of a green screen.
I wonder if Coco Noir is selling well…
Yeah, no idea.
The Nuit d’Issey ad appeals to me.
The Guess woman with her jeans cut off just makes me wonder what sort of a fashion cycle we’re entering.
Honestly — we’re entering a time warp? Seems like those could be Guess ads from 10 years ago.
Tom Ford, keeping it classy as usual:p, others are tacky too..those are cut offs of cuts offs.
So the beautiful model for Sahara Noir is a Brazilian, Lais Ribeiro!
I really like the Coco Noir ad. Classy, it makes me want to try the extrait even more. And I really dislike the Black Opium one. Ugh, that pink juice inside the hideous textured bottle, all framed by one of the most uninspiring things in this wide world, those white florescent lights. Not wanting to be cranky, but heck, it’s Monday. The Sí ad sort of depresses me in the same way as the La Vie est Belle one does… It seems I don’t want self help to go with the image of my perfumes. Please. No.
The ad for Coco Noir reminds me of an old Habanita ad with a profile of a woman formed in pale cigarette smoke against a black background. Very smooth.
I’m a bit interested in those Avon by Lacroix, but have nerver seen any, no Avon where I live. Are they any good?
I liked the See by Chloe and Body shop ads, but the Escada one is not good. I might be biased by having sniffed the scent and found it very very bad (I usually like many of their summer scents) this year, but the ad looks like an ad for a cheap toy.
I’ve never smelled the Avons either, sorry.
I’ve got to say that, as the slide show slid past, the only one that really caught my attention visually was the ‘Body Shop Smoky Poppy’ ad – not really sure why. The only one that made me click though to the fragrance page was the ‘Guess Dare’ ad – yep, as expected, a ‘fruity floral’. Finally, the ‘Si by Chloe Si Belle’ ad just screamed ‘mass produced plastic and synthetic’ to me!
By the way, Robin, I don’t think I’ve seen a ‘slide show’ presentation on the blog before – Nice! I like it!
We’ve done some, not loads but a few, mostly for ads but a couple others as well:

Must have missed the previous ones. I’ll check them out -Thanks!
