Lanvin's latest scratch-and-sniff clothing: a t-shirt ($450) and sweatshirt ($590), both in 100% cotton and featuring a visual of an old Cosmétiques Lanvin advert. "The special print gives off a soft floral scent (violet) when rubbed. It can last up to 15 cold hand washes." At Lanvin.

At present, there are just about 7.7 billion people on this planet, and most of them couldn’t fashion you a scratch-n-sniff garment if you paid them. By this measurement, Lanvin comes out ahead. But does it make admirable use of its advantage?
