Kate by Kate Moss ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 17 June 2007 14 Comments

Kate by Kate Moss perfumeAs previously reported, Kate Moss is expected to launch her debut fragrance with Coty this fall overseas, in the US next year. Her scent will be called simply Kate, and to repeat what we already knew, the fragrance will be...

..."a mix of elegant and risqué," with smoky rose and black undertones and a vintage English feel.

We were also promised that the fragrance would capture "the good Kate and the bad Kate".

The little bit of "new news": Kate will be a floral musk by perfumer Nathalie Lorson, and you can probably already guess what color the juice will be. Yep, pink. (via Women's Wear Daily)

Update: Kate by Kate Moss will be a floral musk:

"When I put it on I want to feel fresh and light and as the day goes on I want to feel sexier," said Moss, adding her favorite fragrances include Penhaligon's Bluebell and Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue.

The notes for Kate Moss Kate include orange blossom absolute, forget-me-not, pink pepper, lily of the valley, heliotrope, magnolia, peony, rose, patchouli, sandalwood, musk, vetiver and ambrette. It will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via Women's Wear Daily)

Other upcoming celebrity fragrances: Prince 3121, L by Gwen Stefani, Sean John Unforgivable Woman, Mariah Carey, Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction, Christina Aguilera, Sarah Jessica Parker Covet, Usher He & Usher She.

I read “Floral Musk”, but i hear “Fruity Floral”… Isn't there a Rosey fragrance by another Brit using only her first name? 😉

If it is even close to Stella, I'll be impressed — anything but a fruity floral, please!

Am I the only brit who wishes Kate will just go away?

I have a feeling this will be her first of many, but we'll see! She doesn't bother me much because I don't pay much attention.

I'm sure this will be a massive hit, but she winds me up no end…

I won't take it out on the perfume though!!

If it smells even halfway decent, I'm sure you're right — it will sell.

I tested it today and… Nope. It is weak & I can't single out an individual note. It also has next to none staying power.

Maybe I picked up a bad tester?!

I have just got this and love it. It definitely reminds me of Stella In Two though (which is no bad thing)

I like these notes alone so i thought it would be good. But its… exactly what they say! Floral musk. AND what they didn't say. Yawn-inducing. I can't believe it dissappointed me when i'd already not been expecting much as it was a celebrity frag!

Yawn-inducing seems to be the consensus so far — it still hasn't launched in the US.

ok… so i Love Love Love this scent!! I got it as a sample from a Swag bag… It smells as fresh as a freshly picked Rose on a summers day.. NO LIE! But i have to agree with everyone else.. it has the staying power of a vending machine gum ball. This is probably the ONLY thing stopping me from purchasing a full size bottle of Kate. WOMP WOMP!!!!
