Calvin Klein Man, Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 25 May 2007 4 Comments

Calvin Klein man fragrance for men adCalvin Klein will launch Calvin Klein Man in October. The new fragrance is intended to be a pillar for the men's line, and is described as "masculine, minimalistic and sophisticated".

Calvin Klein Man is a "crisp, spicy wood" fragrance with notes of rosemary, mandarin, bergamot, violet leaf, bay, nutmeg, incense, spearmint, cypress wood, guaiac wood, sandalwood, amberwood and musk.

Calvin Klein Man will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. (both above via Women's Wear Daily)

Update: a description from Macy's, where Calvin Klein Man is now available online:

Iconic. Masculine. Sexy. The essence of the modern man is captured in a blend of crisp freshness, exotic spices and rich woods. Calvin Klein MAN epitomizes Calvin Klein's cutting edge minimalism and sexy style.

Other recent releases from Calvin Klein: CK IN2U.

Update: see a review of Calvin Klein Man.

Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction cologneAntonio Banderas will launch his next fragrance this coming July in Walgreens. Banderas describes Blue Seduction for men as "contemporary, stylish and masculine", and it apparently "features an interesting concoction of everything from mint and melon to oakmoss and cappuccino." (I'll update with a more complete list of notes when I can find them)

Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction will be available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Update: Blue Seduction was developed by perfumer Olivier Cresp, and the notes include bergamot, cassis, mint, melon, cardamom, nutmeg, ocean accord, apple, cappucino accord, oak moss, woods and musk. (via Cosmetic World)

INCENSE in a CK scent? *thud*

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for what feels like a welcome departure from his earlier (in my book) so-sos-to-flaw-flaws. Euphoria was, like, sugared water? OK, I did like the green Truth.

R, I see you haven't reviewed Chergui, Fumerie Turque or Chêne yet. Is it because you don't like or (hard to imagine) haven't tried them? Just curious. 🙂

Again I'll say that I think the men are having a banner year — the masculine releases for 2007 are way more interesting than the women's.

Admit I don't love FT, but don't hate it either. Will get to them all eventually! Actually, I was thinking when I did A La Nuit recently that I've got to slow down — I'm getting close to covering my favorite brands, and then I'll have nothing to write about but celebrity scents, LOL!

Review rationing? Yes, makes perfect sense 🙂

And yes, you're right about this year being all about men perfumewise. It was high time, don't you agree? I have yet to try most of them and am expecting a lot from Dior this year. Ditto Promesse PH.

Have you tried Emporio Armani White He? Perfect for summer!

Certainly high time, can't argue with that, and as I'm happy to borrow from the men's counter, it makes no difference to me personally 🙂

The Armani line has gotten very little attention from me so far, sorry to say. I'll never catch up! Besides the Prives, I've only tried Armani Code, Acqua di Gio, Armani Mania & Attitude. Have a long way to go. The packaging on the new Armani (Product) Red scents looks great, so hope to try those when they come out.
