Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 26 November 2008 37 Comments

Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy

Britney Spears will launch Hidden Fantasy, the latest flanker to 2005's Fantasy fragrance for women, in January. The tag line is "What do you have to hide?", and the new fragrance is described as "a seductive scent that is all about expressing the many mysterious sides of a woman".

Hidden Fantasy was developed by perfumer Rodrigo Flores- Roux, who also worked on With Love Hilary Duff. The scent was "inspired by the singer's love of white florals, vanilla and luscious desserts", and the notes include sweet orange, tangerine, grapefruit blossom, verbena, jasmine, stargazer lily, sweet Napolitano cake, vanilla bean, jacaranda wood, fluid sandalwood and amber.

Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, in a cherry red bottle with pink crystals "symbolizing love, femininity and warmth". (first quote via fragrance ad, second and fourth quotes via prnewswire, third quote and additional information via cosmeticsinternational)

Hahahaha – “What do you have to hide?” Reflecting back to the famous limo shot sans culottes, apparently NOTHING!

Wait, so it isn't coming out December 2nd anymore? They were going to release it the same day of her album

to b honest, this one doesnt sound bad at all. i very much enjoyed the original fantasy and this 1 seems way more appealing 2 me. orange, jasmine, vanilla bean, and amber. all the notes sound promising. i just dont know what a napolitano cake is? i guess they needed to add some cake 2 the mix as they had cupcake in the original fantasy. all and all im very much looking forward to experiencing this one.

Jonr951, it's usually, but not necessarily, a marbled cake w/ more than one flavor, sometimes using strawberry, chocolate & vanilla like Neopolitan ice cream. But who knows what they mean. Elsewhere I've heard this described as a cherry vanilla fragrance, but that doesn't seem to be in any of the “official” copy so far.

it isn't going to be better than her other ones…
just like Circus isn't better than her other albums but everyone is acting like its great because she's making her ~*comeback*~

Her other scents were half decent, especially Fantasy. Chances are this will be too. BUT wouldn't you think she'd consider coming off the rather juvenile theme by now? (Admittedly, I love sparkly things as well.) She's heading for 30 though, talking about the mysterious nature of women which tends to come with age …
Or am I being too idealistic or philosophical?

This may just be me, but does the design on the bottle of the neck remind anyone of a confederate flag? =0\

It isn't likely to be better, but I suppose it could be…hard to say until we get to smell it.

Wonder if her fan base is younger than she is, though? Really don't know much about it myself.

In that red bottle you would think she would go for something more oriental…or daring somehow. I like Curious with the magnolia, but you think she would have evolved with her fragrance.

    I like Britney's dance music (Womanizer) and I'm almost 50… :-C

This sounds likable if the cake doesn't make it too foody. I just hope her emotional troubles are over with treatment. It must be hard to fall after being so high.

    joy, Becca

…and isn't “Hidden Fantasy” rather redundant?

I think Believe was geared a bit older than Curious or Fantasy. Don't know that there'd be much point in doing a sophisticated flanker for Fantasy.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't…and haven't even looked for it so don't know if any of my local stores are carrying it — but haven't seen it online anywhere as of yet.

i finally found it at my kohls!!! its amazing! by far my favorite of the fantasys! it starts out fruity from the orange and tangerine! the cake and vanilla bean put it in the same category as the original fantasy. its definately far nicer and more sophisticated then midnight fantasy which im sure u, robin, will appreciate. the bottle is quite wonderful in my opinion! all and all hidden fantasy is a great foody scent and is my favorite so far of britneys! its replaced believe and in control for me. robin i really hope u like it even if just a little bit!

o i cant wait 4 it!!! i really do hope u like it! its nothing groundbreaking of course but i think its really fun and everyone can appreciate that! i just love it! tues or weds! cant wait! im just so sad that macys has stopped selling her fragrances all together. i guess her past troubles really took a toll on sales! i really hope none of them are discontinued permenately and that theyll start popping up at macys and other fine department stores again soon. i really liked believe but it didnt even last a yr at macys! 🙁

oh I didn't know Macys had stopped doing them! When I went to New York in 06 I bought Fantasy from Macys and I felt very treated when I discovered Curious In Control which wasn't even heard of in England at that point!

I thought that Elizabeth Arden would stop making them after Believe but I'm glad they didn't! I think they're all really unusual…I didn't even like Midnight Fantasy at first but sure enough it grew on me and now I love it!

Macy's doesn't seem to keep fragrances as long as they used to…probably because there are so many new releases. You can still buy Believe elsewhere though (on elizabetharden.com among others).

that's true, so many coming out. I'm surprised to see there'll be yet another 'Glow'….hmmm, sunkissed glow is surely too similar a theme to 'Miami Glow!
