Jo Malone has launched the limited edition The Brits: Marmalade Collection for Summer 2021. The set includes two relaunches (Blackberry & Bay and Elderflower Cordial), and three new fragrances: Rose Blush (announced here earlier this month), Orange Peel and Tangy Rhubarb.
Inspired by the British love of jam making, our perfumers have created five unique fragrances celebrating the fruit flavors of the British pantry. To capture the vibrant scent of summer fruits, we’ve steam-distilled fruits and berries to extract its all-natural flavor and create these fine fragrances.
Orange Peel ~ "Marmalade making, a most British of traditions. Orange peel simmers on the stove, its zesty aroma and bitter bite tantalising the senses. Warm woods are blended with orange to create a refined, golden fragrance. Quirky natural rhubarb adds an enticing appeal to this fresh take on the classic marmalade." Developed by perfumer Marie Salamagne, who notes...
Orange Peel took a long time to perfect as it required striking just the right balance between the juiciness of the fruit and the bitterness of the rind. We used natural orange together with the orange molecule Sinensal, which acts like a booster for orange to last longer, preserving a lovely zesty note all the way to the bottom of the fragrance.
Tangy Rhubarb ~ "The unmistakable tang of unruly rhubarb plucked from the overgrown garden. Its bright and striking stems fill the bustling kitchen. Rhubarb brings a characterful heart to this eccentric fragrance, complemented by zesty orange and an elegant note of cedarwood." Tangy Rhubarb was developed by perfumer Nicolas Bonneville, who notes...
We also worked with warm woods and clary sage to add elegance and refinement to this cologne. Our wonderful rhubarb fruit extract gives things a unisex quality and adds a hint of bitterness that works so well.
The Jo Malone Marmalade Collection fragrances are available in 30 ml Cologne, $74 each. A coffret with all 5 in a decorated tin is £275 (it has not yet appeared on the US site).
Tangy Rhubarb sounds fun..might try that out
You take Tangy Rhubarb, I’ll take Orange Peel!
I just noticed these on the US Sephora site this morning. Trying to decide if Rose blush is worth it or if I should just stick with Lush if I want a rose jam fragrance. The spring coupon is very tempting to use…
Thanks for the tip! I didn’t think they would be there in time to use the spring coupon
Will be shocked if this is as rose-y as the Lush, but you never know.
Thanks for the heads up. I ended up getting the Rhubarb, Orange Peel and Elderflower. The bottles look nice!
My hero.? The bottles are cute.
I love orange. Might try it. Funny that they add rhubarb to the orange one and orange to the rhubarb one. Maybe they just needed Orange-Rhubarb?
I love these bottles and they sound nice and springy…I’ve been holding onto the discontinued Elderflower and Gooseberry, so happy to see that they’re reworking/relaunching it. The rose and orange ones sound good too…gonna pretend I did not just read that they’re at Sephora.
I got Orange Peel in the Sephora VIB sale on now till 4/19. I never blind buy perfume, but the sale price swayed me. It sounded like zesty yet warm orange fragrance that would be nice in any season. I like the unique vintage looking bottle too.
Elderflower cordial? That is calling my name…
Hello lovley people, I just bought today Tangy Rhubarb and I love it!!
After arriving home I niticed that they might packed me the tester instead of a new perfume. So, I have a question for you: can you weight your bottle and see how much grams it has? Mine has 128g for a bottle of 30 ml… I just hope that they packed me a whole bottle and not a used one.
Please help! Thank you!
I like the sound of several of these, but I don’t care for the bottles (though I know others do). Bummer.
