Happy Hump Day, and happy National Chocolate Cupcake Day! What fragrance are you wearing?
I seem to be doing an iris week. Today, Prada Infusion d'Iris Absolue, because Elisa P mentioned it yesterday. To reek just a tiny little bit of havoc, I've put a bit of Prada Candy on my other arm.
Reminder: 10/20 will be Reeking Havoc Friday...in honor of Holly (who is frequently reeking havoc), wear as many perfume samples at once as you can stand. Suggested by FearsMice.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

L’Infante By Divine and Eau de Camille by AG
Reeking havoc !
Tea Pleine Lune
Breakfast quinoa with dates, cardamom, cinnamon and almonds
yum to tea and breakfast 🙂
and I adore Eau de Camille…such a pity it is d/c
I just tested L’Infante the other day — very nice stuff.
Divine is a great perfume house
Agreed – I have been impressed with all of the perfumes I’ve tried from Divine.
Thanks for reminding me that I might have some samples of Divine lurking in the Sample Stash.
Bonjour
Am traveling again and have samples only packed.
Dropped my sample of vetiver tonka on bathroom floor yesterday morning smashing that.
Have a travel spray of Ambre Narguile
It’s hot hot here so one light spray will do.
Cupcakes! Chocolate! Yay!
Ugh, sorry about your VT! But you smell great.
A moment of silence for the fallen..
When I travel I also like to pack samples. That’s why lot’s of fragrances are assosiated with certain trips and places:)
In 10 Corso Como. I needed something peaceful, meditative and relaxing to face an early start and long and stressful day.
My hubby flew early this morning to LA for a 10 day bussiness trip, so I will be able to spray lavishly on perfumes at night and the weekend. And the best : No cooking dinner! 😀
I never cook when my significant other is out of town either! Which is crazy, it’s not like he expects me to when he is here! I do like to cook for us so we have healthy, good meals and I guess it’s nice to just take a break when it is just me. And I always spray more lavishly when he’s gone too. Enjoy!
Ha ! we are in the same situation, so you understand clearly 😉
My husband and I spent a year in different cities recently and both of us REGULARLY had super easy snack/microwave dinners, yet now that we live together again every night is like What Elaborate Meal Shall We Eat?
Exactly! It’s so funny…I think it’s a social thing for us also. Like it’s more social to sit down and eat a nice meal for some reason than a bowl of cereal or microwave dinner haha.
It’s a lot of work & effort for 1 person, plus it’s not necessarily economical. That said, when I lived alone in a studio apt I regularly cooked really nice meals for myself. But I also ordered out enough that my neighborhood Indian delivery spot stopped asking for my order and just said, “the usual?” 😉
You had me at neighborhood Indian delivery. ????
I also don’t cook when my husband is gone – my toddler loves it because she gets fish sticks and tater tots every night 🙂
So quick and easy! 🙂
Waft on. Does this mean you’re single until Friday or Saturday next week?
Until next Saturday. And wearing Dzing now!!! 😀
I woke up to the remnants of the Kerosene Broken Theories I wore to bed last night and like the smokiness, so today’s scent is SSS Forest Walk. Such a beautiful and unusual fragrance.
Yes it is, you smell fantastic!
Reeeking with Dame…New Musk Oil, Black Flower Mexican Vanilla and three soliflores courtesy of ltsg- Narcissus, Mimosa and Osmanthus…the soliflores are full bottles which means I can decant for my mom and childhood girlfriend both of whom are Dame fans as well 🙂
Mmmmm.
Ha! i knew you would say that…being a fan of the Narcissus 🙂 …man, that is GREAT stuff!
Heavenly havoc!
Indeed!
I hope your mom and girlfriend enjoy!
Thanks to you! the bottles are so big I am not afraid to share!
That’s a lot of flowers! How are they blending?
I like it but YMMV
Wow- Dametastic!
Ooo that is very clever!!! You coined a new word 🙂
Oh wow!
Are you attracting bees right now? 😉
One would think so 🙂
I’m wearing Memo Paris Luxor Oud for the first time, from a sample. The oud is very faint – I wish they would have bumped it up a little, but the deep, dark amber and rose, and the tangy citrus peel is pretty great anyway.
Not wreaking havoc by wearing a couple sprays of Crystalle EDT. I much prefer it now that it’s cooler.
Thank you to the person who mentioned here that she finds that it works better in cold weather!
Drinking silver needle tea. I am not a tea connoisseur but had to get some loose leaves because they are so beautiful 🙂
I love Cristalle in cooler weather. As soon as mine SOTDs fade I will spritz some
ditto!
Wearing some Hove Louis Quatorze solid perfume which I picked up on my honeymoon to New Orleans! And I didn’t get a chance to tell you all but I wore vintage Ivoire to the ceremony. My friends were like “do you know what perfume you’re wearing?” and I was like “darlings I’ve known since long before I knew what dress I’d wear!”
Congratulations! I hope you had a wonderful trip.
Congratulations!!! You smelled amazing!
…you just got married? Congrats!
Congratulations!????
Congratulations! And love the response to your friends about the perfume!
Congratulations!. Vintage Ivoire was a beautiful choice!
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Congratulations to you!
Thank you fragrance fam! <3
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Many years of love and happiness !!
I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon in New Orleans.
Congratulations and many blessings to you two. Of course you knew which perfume first!
Congratulations on your recent nuptials!
Congratulations! The Hove boutique has character.
Congrats! Sounds lovely.
Congratulations! And, vintage Ivoire is such a fantastic choice.
Congratulations, Regina! Vintage Ivoire is marvelous. I only have about 4 back-up bottles, lol!
Good morning Y’all…..
It got chilly enough to turn the heat on last night! Of course that means that this morning I wanted to stay in my cozy bed ALL DAY. But here I am at work instead…..
Went with Body Shop Red Musk today. I forget how much I love this one! 🙂
I *wish* our heat had popped on! Darned cold this morning.
I’m wearing Smell Bent Gimel a Break. This is a lovely honey and beeswax fragrance. I love the scent of honey for the fall and winter.
I love Gimel a Break! I so wish it hadn’t been a temporary holiday one as it is my favorite of the line… on the other hand they basically come in gallon sizes so I doubt I’ll need to restock.
It’s our 20th Anniversary today, and I’m sitting here trying to decide between Cuir de Lancôme and Le Temps d’Une Fête. The former is so gorgeous on this cool day and the latter is something I’ve worn since before we were married…it was my signature for quite a long time. I likely wore it on my wedding day (that day remains a bit of a blur, although oddly enough I remember my exact lipstick.) Kind of a win-win for me here scentwise….
We are taking the day to see The Princess Bride in the theater this afternoon. My husband has never seen it. Unsure about dinner. I want to go to one of our regular places. Having a hankering for my Curry Mee bowl at our favorite Malaysian place. Either that or feel young at our local red banquette place that’s been around forever and whose owner is a lovely 89 year old Irishman.
Happy anniversary! How fun for him to see TPB for the first time.
Congratulations! Your day sounds fantastic. Enjoy!
Happy Anniversary! We just had our 20th a couple of weeks ago.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary!
Your plans for today sound great, enjoy 🙂
Happy anniversary! LOVE love TPB, and both your scent choices.
Happy Anniversary! A wonderful day you have planned!
Happy Anniversary! Sounds like a fantastic day!
Happy Anniversary! “Have fun storming the castle”. Lol, hope your husband enjoys the movie.
Enjoy your evening! I do love a red banquette place 🙂 Funny, I also remember my wedding day makeup more than the other accouterments, probably because I did it myself and spent a long time planning it out.
Congratulations!
What a great way to celebrate; happy anniversary to you two. I think it’s absolutely wonderful he’s seeing TPB for the first time! Hope it’s a perfect evening.
Happy 20th Anniversary! It sounds like it was a wonderful day.
What a great milestone, LizzieB! Congratulations!
Happy 20th! And that’s exactly what my husband would want to do for a celebration. We both love that movie but he reeeally loves it. Like he’d watch it everyday if he could.
And either scent is a great choice.
Oh how wonderful! Congratulations on 20 years. Hope it was a special night out!
I’m wearing Le Troisiemme Homme. It’s a comfort scent for me when my husband’s not around, and I also love it in fall.
Twins!
I had mentioned I was trying Glossier You the other day. Creosote I believe was asking about the fragrance. I’m not affiliated in any way—but for those interested they just posted an interview with the perfumers-Frank Voelkl and Dora Baghriche.
https://intothegloss.com/2017/10/glossier-you-perfumers/?utm_source=bloglovin.com&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+intothegloss%2FVUQZ+%28Into+The+Gloss%29
Hi Elizabeth – I posted that I’m trying You today as well before seeing your post. How do you like it?
I don’t mind it at all! I think for what it is it’s well done. On me it’s a simple linear iris and clean musk skin scent. Which seems clear that that was the goal. AND what I appreciate the most is the reasonable price.
I’m liking it and mostly likely buying a full bottle. The price is nice and appreciated too
I am wearing Acqua di Parma Arancia di Capri today and drinking a cup of Honeybush Acai berry tea.
I am wearing (one spray too many of) Tom Ford Fleur de Chine. So glad I bit the bullet and bought this one before it disappeared!
You smell great!
You smell fantastic!
Wanted to wear Arquiste No. 57 Inspired by a comment yesterday but completely forgot and sprayed Burberry Brit Rhythm for her. Experiencing slight perfume regret this morning.
I love A-57, totally forgot I had that one until seeing your mention of it!
I think it’s a pretty nice under the radar scent and very office-wearable.
Tomorrow for both of us!!!
Today I have a day off from work, perfect for ‘reeking havoc’.
This morning i started out in:
Eau du ceil
Eau du fier
Heure Exquise
(By Annick Goutal, samples from the swapmeet, thank you, Austenfan)
After lunch, i had a shower and chose Dilettante by Hiram Green (from the affordable travelspray)
And some Body Shop Moringa oil in my hair.
(On a side note: my hair ends are somewhat dry and Oils really work better than the fancy expensive Balmain stuff i tried a while ago).
Ran some errands and last but not least went to the post office to pick up another swapmeet package full of samples from another generous NSTer. Thank you so much!
So now i am wearing 31 Rue Cambon on my left arm and Beige on my right arm. And I may end up wearing a few more… 🙂
Holly should send you MORE samples as an award for ultimate reeking 🙂 .
Wow wow wow
WOW!!! You must smell like a fabulous perfume shop!!
Decided to round the afternoon off with vintage Coco edt. Now that is not how i remember the current version. Vintage is much more smooth.
Also, I am wearing my ‘couch costume’ now, a hoodie that reeks of Dame’s Black horse (from yesterday evening test session) and a t-shirt that still wafts Narcisse (wore that one on monday).
I think ‘reeking havoc’ is accomplished 😀
And it was really fun to do, its nice to compare them all and be amazed about all the wonderful differences and similarities between fragrances.
Though if I really want to check if a fragrance is a personal like or love or maybe fb worthy..i’d need to wear only that fragrance 🙂
Is it me, or do 31 Rue cambon and Heure exquise share the same powdery French vibe?
31 RC is more about crystal chandeliers, silver spoons and a crisp white blouse. Heure Exq reminds me more of a cosy bistro garden and a kneelength flowerdress.
Wow! Amazing!
How do you like the Eau de Ciel? do you have the vintage or current reformulation? it was d/c for a while but then brought back..that is one of my all time favorite lindens.
It is vintage formulation. It was a first sniff and I really like it! Beautiful linden it is, though Eau de Fier came on stronger and pushed it to the back seat
haha. So it needs a proper stand-alone-wear soon, for me to get a better sniff of it.
Our whole street contains two long rows of linden trees. I always look forward to their blossoms…what a feast to arrive back home and smell them!
SOTD is FM Petite Matin. I have been thinking about wearing this for days but the rains have spawned a lot of mold and my allergies are back. Unfortunately, today this is lemony with a horrible screechy background. I’m trying to figure out if it’s my sore nose, remains of whatever I wore last night or just bad body chemistry today.
I’ve been having sinus issues of late and similar problems. It’s not that I can’t smell, it’s that some notes are massively amplified, so everything smells “off.” Hope you feel better soon.
Aw, sorry!
Testing the Phlur sample set. Moab started spicy, then smelled like cleaning supplies, and is now a warm cinnamon. Oldmstead & Vaux was bright and green, but is now a creamy ginger. Hanami is ambery and woody. I haven’t yet come to a conclusion on them – may require more reeking!
ha! I love reading others take on the Phlur line! Moab was straight up sweet cinnamon and vanilla with a twinge of peppermint to my wonky nose and reminds me a lot of Tauer’s work. Olmstead and Vaux I could barely smell but every time I wore it I got compliments…Hanami is fig and hazelnut…similar to Angel Muse without the vetiver.
Hmmm. I definitely need to apply more Hanami-didn’t get anything Angel- like.
Olmsted & Vaux reminded me of Atelier Grand Neroli. Anyone else?
I really hate the name of this brand. It has too many letters similar to the word phlegm. Gross!
LOL!
Hahaha! Maybe they should’ve done a focus group first.
No havoc for me: SOTD is Caron’s Le troisieme homme, which I find interesting enough to keep returning to its cola candy smell
You are twins with Elisa (above).
SSS Champagne de Bois. A favorite for fall.
Ahhhhhh. You smell divine.
My mom yelled bloody murder when I wore it so I sadly had to quarantine it and actually gave it away as my first freebie ever on NST!
Sampling Vilhelm’s Room Service today.
Greta Garbo is said to be the inspiration for this scent.
Ironically, my gramma is the daughter of Swedish immigrants and when I was really little and would put on her dark sunglasses, she would tell me “you look just like Greta Garbo!”
I had no idea who she was, but I knew that looking like her must be a good thing.????
did you change your gravatar?
I did! That’s a sunflower field in bloom I visited in August.
Wonderful shot!
What did you think of Morning Chess? I am curious about that one for the name alone-LOL!
I like Morning Chess. I am a bergamot lover so I figured I would. I don’t get much patch and I would say it veers masculine- it wears like a really good man’s cologne on me.
So far my favs are Modest Mimosa- which surprises me because I am not a floral girl, but it is so pretty- and Dear Polly (the one scent I was really dying to try).
Trying Montale Oriental Vanilla today.
Kind of smells like MFK Oud layered with Vanilla Flash.
Reek on, folks.
This one has bloomed on me into a lovely, sweet and spicy oriental now.
I began to have one of those “where is that amazing smell coming from…?” moments and realized…wait…it’s me! Yay!
Oh nice. I have always stayed away from Montales and Mancerras, but might have to start exploring.
Oh please don’t get me started! The Montale bottle scare me.
Not a lot of havoc today, just a bit. 3 sprays of Commodity Gold (yes, I’m determined to finish off some Commodity samples this week haha) and a little spray of Whiskey. It actually is working for me today!
You all smell fab, of course!
Good for you that you are finishing samples!
Well, I decided to explore some of the Serge Lutens, since autumn weather and foliage scented air seem to be perfect for his style.
They carry a couple of SL perfumes in the nearest perfume shop anyway.
I went with Chergui today.
I immediately liked it.
It is sweet, warm, pleasantly spicy and falls into woody orientals category which is my favorite.
I detect burnt sugar, minty turkish delight (its sugar powder tickles my nostrils)… and some balsamic waxy notes keep making me feel that it would be better as a room or a candle scent – not as my personal scent.
Chergui is beautiful! Although I don’t usually pay any attention to the supposed gender of a fragrance, this is one I’d rather smell on a man than on myself.
I don’t like citrus scents on myself, but I adore fresh citrus colognes on men! 🙂
Chergui is gorgeous…I drained my decant so so very fast!
What SL ‘s are your other favorites?
I really haven’t tried that many but from the ones I have from samples I also really liked Un Bois Vanille….and one day I will get my nose on Five O’Clock au Ginembre.
I have more of these than I am willing to confess. Two of my favourites are the two sandalwood ones, Santal Blanc and Santal Majuscule. I tend not to like the really syrupy sweet spicy ones. I also like L’orpheline (sp?).
Santal Blanc….I found it interesting 10 years ago, but I never bought it. now it’s too late. i hate dabbing bottles, I need to spray! 🙂
I would love a Chergui candle!
Yes, me too! 🙂
Today’s SOTD is Estee Lauder’s vintage Aliage (late 1970’s-ish).
Still wafting remnants of Eau de Patou from yesterday evening, boy what a super green combo this is!
Happy hump day all. 🙂
Aliage is so much fun! I can’t quite explain it but it always makes me feel like I am playing a trick on everybody.
It’s perfect for today’s weather. Got a few “oh you smell nice” work compliments today. 🙂
I once had vintage Aliage, which made me feel happy. The revised scent doesn’t have the same effect. Phooey.
You smell great Robin. Infusion d’Iris Absolue is exceptional. On me it doesn’t last long sadly, but I got that covered with Purple Rain, which is like a twin to Absolue.
I’m in Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme today. Took it with me to work this morning to take a nice shot of it outside. Now I feel proud of my caption [posted it to my Instagram]
Hey, how are you feeling today? Did you make that appointment? And a perfume related question, I went looking for Santal Carmin in the 30 ml, and couldn’t find it, any suggestions?
Much better today. Possibly I could have been dehydrated because I drank like a lot of warm water last evening and I feel perfectly fine today. If the appointment is necessary, it will be on Monday.
Oh, you’re right! I just checked their website and Santal Carmin is missing while others like Silver Iris or Blanche Immortelle are there. Maybe it’s out of stock? Might be worth giving them a call to ask.
On the other hand I have a huge bottle, I can decant from it.
I’m glad you are feeling better! My next day off I will call them and ask about the 30 ml status. Thanks!
If you’d like a decant of SC, I’d be happy to send you one! My email:
laugsb at sbcglobal dot net
My H has been wearing Rose Anonyme a lot lately. It smells so different on me (I get rose, a dash of oud & patchouli) than on him (fragrant dry woods, no rose.)
Interesting. I get on my skin what you get on yours – rose, some oud and patch.
Good morning, everyone. Today I’m wearing Etro Shaal Nur. I’d forgotten I had some but someone mentioned it recently so I went and searched it out. It’s wonderful, with more components than the incense that was most of what I remembered. Now I’m picking up on the heavy citrus and herb aspects. Lovely!
I’ve asked before, but is Shaal Nur still made, and where can it be found? Thanks!
Not sure if it is still made, but I bought mine on fragrancebuy.com . Maybe check on the Etro site? I’m assuming there is one… It is worth the hunt.
Yes, it is still on the Etro site, and on fragrancenet.com as well as fragrancebuy.
Thank you! I obviously didn’t check the obvious.
Is this the place to say that I love Etro’s fashions? I even own two Etro sweaters and one jacket… courtesy of the sales at Neiman-Marcus. It’s intimidating to go onto their designer level where each shop is segregated but I am so enthused to see Etro’s things that I go there anyway just to gawk at the fabrics and colors. I love that kind of wacky wild paisley stuff. And at a few times of the year I get lucky with their markdowns.
Lucky you. I like the wild paisley stuff too, and the one time I was in their NYC boutique I was drooling, but don’t own a single thing.
Oooh, I wanted to revisit Etro counter for a long time! I feel very uncomfortable there because it’s always me alone against five sales assistants who ask how can the help me:)))))
I hate those situations. I don’t love shopping for anything in-person for that reason, but most especially don’t love perfume shopping in-person. I have to really amp up my armour on those occasions when I do want to do some in-person sniffing, which for me is going out to acquire samples.
That’s when it might be nice to be able to go with someone and sound very snobby. Ha ha!
Yum.
I’m reeking a bit of havok today in Angel Parfum du Cuir. I think I might have overdone it slightly.
Not hard to do with that one! But I’m sure you smell great.
So in honor of another cool day I started with TF Tobacco Vanille, then to amp it up a bit I added some Mancera Roses Vanille – I might qualify for Reek status at this point! But it’s oh so good to me – spices, roses and vanilla – how awesome is that?
Spray on NSTers!
Sounds like a fabulous combo!
I am wearing You by Glossier. A sample of their upcoming fragrance. I am liking it. Iris and musk that sits close to the body.
So curious about this one! I’ve been a fan of her blog since it started and use a number of her products..
Just read an interview about this first scent.
Price is right!
My sample of TM Wonder Bouquet came, yay! More wonder than bouquet to my nose. I get vanilla, and almond, very gourmand. I like it very much. I will see how it stands up to the work night.
Good to know! Is it very sweet?
To me, it’s similar to Hypnotic Poison, with a bit of Poison girl, but really more creamy than sweet, like Muse. Also I would say it smells more refined to me. Lol, I hope this makes sense.
Yes, it does — thanks so much!
Sounds delicious!
It really is. Another one added to my list.
SOTD is SmellBant Smoked Ambergris which fits the beautiful sunny and brisk day.
Only made it to Sheridan WY yesterday because I spent some time hunting down the Guernsey Ruts and Register Cliff, which were amazing! There is a brief history and photos over on my Instagram if anyone is interested (vantasticviews).
T-Rex and I have officially gotten on each other’s last nerve???? We are off now to the Little Bighorn. Hopefully, we will make our better than Custer and his gang. Hope everyone has a fabulous Wednesday ✌????
I am going to look at your Instagram because I want to see T-Rex.
She on there, right next to the ruts????
The thought of you and your pup on each other’s nerves makes me laugh. (Like spouses on a cross country trip ????)
I am in the waiting room at my dentist’s office. It’s a beautiful day so I went with Lyric.
I’m right behind you with a 5pm appt. 🙁
I just got home from mine, permanent crown now in place. (No pain, but it feels kinda weird.) SOTD was Iris Poudre, just for pretty.
I turned my sample of Spanish Veil into an oil–alone it was not a million miles from Feminite du Bois, but had a more chemical aspect that has softened in this form.
I liked Spanish Viel but it reminded me of another perfume. It wasn’t FdB but, for the life of me, I can’t remember now… Ugh…
I am in D600 by Carner Barcelona. It really reminds me of Khol de Bahrain but both are keepers 🙂
I need to do that side by side. Maybe on one part of one arm tomorrow 🙂 .
You smell great!
I tried some of this brand this past weekend. A new shop on the UWS opened and they have this and a couple of other niche fragrances.
El Born was my favorite, but feel like I’ve got enough already in the honey/smokey category. Good prices! I’ll have to give D600 another try next time I stop in.
I’ve been curious about D600 too. It seems to get a lot of love here.
scentbird sells 8 ml decants (no affiliation) of some of their fragrances as a part of subscription
Interesting. I think if the nutty note in KdB was less sweet, It will smell more similar to D600.
SOTD is SJP Stash, another perfume I’ve missed during the warm weather.
It’s supposed to be in the high 70s tomorrow here. We get one cold day and then it’s back to warm weather. The season cycles seem to be changing. Summer really never got started until mid July and now we’re experiencing September weather during October. Everything feels off.
Not reeking, but wafting a bit of Black Perfecto. I’m going through one of those phases where I’ve got a million decants and samples and bottles sitting out but draw a blank every time I go to spray myself. Perfume overload, perhaps, from all the swaps and splits. Black Perfecto has been my default go-to, as it’s very easy to wear, though I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about it.
What do you think about BP?
Are there different versions of Black Perfecto?
Only one so far.
Sounds like you’re perfectly set up for Friday’s project!
More than one scent at a time confuses my nose, so I’m wreaking havoc by trying new stuff this week. Today is SSS’s Winter Woods, which is lovely. I took a look at their website, and they are currently closed due to the fires. Hope all is well with them.
Love this one. Laurie posted on her blog that they were going home today, her cottage was spared.
So glad to hear this! It must have been updated after I looked this morning.
Thanks for the update, MMKinPA!
Just saw that, such good news!
Sortilège for me today, I’m in the mood for something with a classic feel today.
That one is beautiful. I’ve been wearing it to bed lately.
I went to Saks yesterday and made the acquaintance of the nicest young man at the perfume counter. He’s new to fragrance, told me shyly that he had eight bottles, so I told him how many I have and we had a great time talking perfume. He knows nothing of the great perfume houses, had never heard of Guerlain, so I wrote down NST, Basenotes, and Fragrantica web addresses on a card for him. I did get to smell all the Eric Buterbaugh fragrances (none worthy of purchase for me) and my new perfume friend gave me a store sample atomizer of Kilian Woman in Gold.
Today I’m sampling Olympic Orchids Arizona. The other three I’ve tried have been near scrubbers, but this has pleasant notes of pine and something that smells like smoky licorice.
New but 8 bottles already?! He is far down that rabbit hole whether or not he wants to admit it or not. Glad you had such a nice experience especially at Saks of all places!
That was so sweet of you. Your enabling pin is shining brightly!
I think he should stop by Fumerie for 3D perfume education 🙂
Woke up really, really late today. I’ve been wearing nothing but Amouage offerings this week, so it’s Amouage Gold today. On Sunday, saw Victoria and Abdul while wearing Lyric. My coworker got a little nasty with me because I was kind of surprised on how nasty the British were at that time. Her response was didn’t you learn it in school? It’s in books you know. American schools don’t teach world history and every book I’ve read in relation to the Victorian and Edwardian Era, whitewashed a lot of stuff. Said coworker is an elderly English woman.
Well that’s obnoxious. Next time you see her be sure to ask about Emerson, Thoreau, and Transcendentalism. That’ll shut her up.
Meanwhile, have you found an Amougage you like?
Amouage, should be!
Love this!
She sounds bitter and unhappy. When you consider the source, her words should not effect you. Some people are just mean and like to spread it around.
SOTD Guerlain Idylle edp for work appropriateness for a meeting this am.
My brother is here this week for a professional workshop and we went to a music performance last night. He brought a friend with him who he told me had gone to Frederic Malle and bought something (he wanted to know if I had heard of FM ????). He must have told her about my perfume interest because she gifted me the sample of Une Rose they gave her with purchase! So sweet of her-she bought POAL. I forgot how BIG Une Rose is so a sample will last me forever!
So sweet! Those are nice samples they give out.
I know! I never even met her before. The samples are a perfect size-still have a couple I haven’t drained going on 2 years.
And happy to inspire, Robin! Ya know, I think I don’t wear the Prada often because it is very tenacious on me for such a soft scent. I kind of was done smelling it by the end of the day and had to shower it off-and it was still lingering!
It is more tenacious than the “regular” Infusion, for sure. And I do know that feeling — I sometimes think I am the only perfume consumer who doesn’t want fragrances more than 4 hours.
Aww, she sounds like a sweet girl.
SOTD is Divine “L’Inspiratrice”.
Top: rose, ylang-ylang and bergamot;
Mid: rose (again), peony and musk;
Base: patchouli, vetiver, vanilla and tonka.
This one grabbed me when I was selecting my samples for the week and pouring any dab-on samples into 2ml spray containers. Now I’m wearing it, not so much. That is, it smells gorgeous when first on, but either dies off quickly or my nose gets too used to it too fast. Anyway, it’s nice stuff but not one I’ll rush to repeat.
Reeking havoc in JPG Classique
I was inspired to order a sample after watching a retro YouTube video by Lili Jarlson.
I’m a half an hour in – I think I quite like it!
It’s funny how someone can inspire us to try a perfume – this was not on my radar before, but Lily just really seemed to enjoy it – of course I have no idea if our scent tastes are similar.
I needed something fortifying and office friendly for a meeting I was slightly nervous for this morning, so I chose Vetiver Extraordinaire. The meeting went well, and I smell great!
Yes you do, and glad it went well!
Sort of reeking havoc today by wearing one perfume over the drydown of another. SOTDs = Nest Perfumes Midnight Fleur, from the sample stash, over the drydown of yesterday’s Amouage Honour Woman which is on my clothing. A rather nice combo.
SOTD is Robert Piguet’s ‘Casbah’ with a dash of Escentric Molecules 01 this combo for a true Florida autumn kind of day.
SOTD = Rania J. Ambre Loup
Love! I am finishing the dregs of my decant before unwrapping my FB. Smells like spicy pipe tobacco on first spray and dries down to a fabulous vanilla.
I saw a little ad to the side of my NST tab. Jo Malone Orange Bitters is back, in limited edition once again. The label is matte orange. My bottle from last year was a harlequin pattern. I know Robin announced it a few months back. Get it while you can.
I have an idea for a Friday. Fabulous Five Friday wherein you successively wear the same perfume you wore yesterday and layer it with a new one and build up to layering 5 fragrances by Friday, assuming you start on a Monday. If you decide to start participating on Wednesday, you only need to layer 3 perfumes. This will take planning. I may “cheat” with Demeters 🙂
Orange Bitters looks yummy. The harlequin bottle is prettier than this year’s.
The way perfumes can interact is fascinating. I like the Five for Friday layering idea. It could work with scents from Jo Malone or Dame or Atelier.
Very creative! Like it!
You smell great! I love Ambre Loup, it will probably go to my FB wishlist when my sample is empty… 🙂
Love the layering Idea….I kinda did it myself today with five Dames 🙂
SotD = lavender essential oil because sometimes that’ll do. 🙂
YUP!
