I'm on vacation and have nothing to post today. For anyone who was counting on wasting a few minutes on Now Smell This, here are a few articles from the archives that might be worth a peek:

Note: top image is Maldives, your perfect holiday destination [cropped] by Nattu at flickr; some rights reserved. It looks like a decent vacation, yes? But it's not where I am, at the moment.
My SOTD is a sample of Chanel’s Bois Des Iles.
I can’t decide if it is FBW or not… love the dry down, indifferent about the opening.
Hey, me too! Is it the edt, and are you finding it disappears after about 3 hours?
It becomes a faint skin scent at about that point for me. But I really love the way that it smells. Ugh.

It must be Bois des Iles day! I’m wearing the edt (Les Exclusifs version) on a mild summer day; usually it’s more a winter scent for me.
SOTD is Eau Sauvage Parfum (Dior). Love, love, LOVE this stuff, thinking about getting a backup bottle.
Scent of the day is Chanel No 19 Poudre – my wedding day scent. Lovely memories!
Terre D’Hermes is my SCOTD, which would be perfect to wear frolicking in the crystal clear water in that picture!
SOTD is vintage Shalimar. I had seen someone else comment about how they like it in the summer, so I thought I’d try it out. It’s working pretty well.
You smell FABULOUS!!!! I LOVE Shalimar in the summer. The vintage cologne is lovely as is the extract. I also love the current EDT. Not crazy about the EDP though.
Shalimar during summer is a favorite of mine, too. I think the opening is uplifting and energizing, while the dry down makes me feel clean (freshly powdered?) all day. Perfection. Have never tried any vintage version, though, I’m afraid it might ruin the current version I’m so happy with. (On the other hand, I know I’m missing something important for my education. Oh, the dilemmas a perfumista must face, these days…)
SOTD is White by Undergreen. I can only say that I love it, that it smells white, really white, that it is rather unique, and that it is great for summer.
Enjoy your vacation, Robin — you deserve it!
SOTD is gloriously smooth Bottega Veneta – freshly uncorked today. Wears close to the skin, just as previously described here. Made me feel elegant and “knowing” all day! Blessings these!
BV is one of my favorites, particularly for fall and winter. I’ll have to try it in warm weather sometime and see how it does.
My first time to post here (I’ve been enjoying learning, though!) – but I wanted to say that I tested Bottega Veneta as SOTD for the first time, and really enjoyed it in the late July humidity of Houston. The soft apricot note reminds me of the discontinued Boucheron Jaipur – I need to test them side-by-side to see if my scent memory is correct.
SOTD is Carner D600. A perfect summer perfume. I get amazing complements on this one.
I hope you’re enjoying your vacation, Robin!
SOTD is Lush Orange Blossom. There are more complex orange blossoms – and certainly more expensive ones – but this is the one I like to wear.
Here’s to vacations, Robin!
Not sure why, but last night I slept in YSL Paris EdT, and today I’m enjoying a tiny dab of YSL Opium parfum. It’s very obvious that my vintage Paris Opium (composed in 1977) smells very natural, whereas Paris (composed in 1983) smells completely synthetic, the way Boucheron (1988) does. I’m not sure if there was some kind of dividing line in the early 80s in terms of ingredients, or if my bottle of Paris is just more recent than I thought, although LT does note that Paris is a rose done with ionones.
Have a great holiday, Robin.
My scent of the day is Histoires de Parfums 1876, AKA as Mata Hari.
I don’t think I have anything in common with Maria Geertruida Zelle, but the fragrance is lovely.
I’m testing Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede today. It puts me in the mind of Gucci Guilty, which really says more about the latter fragrance and whether or not it earns its name! As a Jo Malone, it’s fine, quite likable, and…I don’t find I have much more to say about it! But I would certainly be interested to hear what others think, if anyone’s had a chance to sniff.
SOTD is Emotionnelle. It settles down nicely on me. (Had to add a comment, as I missed out on the week-end poll.) Have a good vacation, Robin.
SOTN, as its past midnight here, is Chergui. Whenever I wear it I wonder why I ever bother to wear anything else…
I agree Merlin – such a weirdly, beautiful scent! I don’t wear it that often (not sure why) but when I do, I feel exactly the same as you do.
Have a great vacation Robin!
SOTD was Coco. I haven’t picked my SOTE yet.
SOTD is Scherrer 2, which goes to show that one shouldn’t write off a perfume just because it (allegedly) contains a pineapple note.
SOTD was L’eau de bug spray. Summer vacation in Florida requires it! SOTE is Ineke Gilded Lily, which also says it has a pineapple note, but I don’t notice it.
Enjoy your vacation, Robin!
My scent of the day is really from last night. After my shower I slathered on a body butter I made myself that consists of coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and cocoa butter- delicious! Then, to top if off, a little spritz of SSS Cocoa Sandalwood! I smell delicious this morning 🙂
Thanks for all the nice vacation wishes…we are having a great time!
Wishing you ahve a great time, Robin!
SOTD is l’Heure Bleue. I actually think it is cuddly. It warms me up in this cold winter.
SOTD = Atelier Cologne Sous le toit de Paris
It will be my vacation perfume and wearing it now reminds me of my upcoming vacation, 5 days and counting.
Have a wonderful vacation, Robin!
