Hermes Eau de Mandarine Ambree & Eau de Narcisse Bleu ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 22 February 2013 21 Comments

Hermès Eau de Mandarine and Eau de Narcisse Bleu

Hermès will launch two new additions to the Cologne Collection in June April: Eau de Mandarine Ambrée and Eau de Narcisse Bleu. The two scents will join Eau de Pamplemousse Rose, Eau de Gentiane Blanche and the classic Eau d’Orange Verte.

Eau de Mandarine Ambrée ~ a classic cologne with mandarin, passion fruit and amber.

Eau de Narcisse Bleu ~ a modern fresh cologne with narcissus and woody notes.

Hermès Eau de Mandarine Ambrée and Eau de Narcisse Bleu will be available in 100 and 200 ml ml Eau de Toilette.

(via diarydirectory)

Update: Eau de Narcisse Bleu also features galbanum and orange blossom, and is the more complex of the two. (via wwd)

Another update: see a review of Eau de Mandarine Ambrée.

Eau de Mandarine Ambree sounds and looks good. Robin, it’s not any limited edition or so, is it?
If it’s not then there’s a chance it will go for a wilder distribution in Douglas in Poland (only Douglas carries Hermes here)

      I don’t think they’re LE, no.

When Hermes released GB and PR all 3 bottles, with E d’OV, were available in 30ml in a boxed set. Now I’m hoping that all 5 will be available as a set!

Mandarines ambrées is the name Andy Tauer uses for his soaps.
It feels strange to find it here.
Could it be that someone in the Hermes marketing department reads perfume blogs?
In any case, I am not the target for Hermès perfumes… ;)
Which is a relief: I don’t want any more lemmings, please!!!

I seriously doubt they took the name from Tauer’s soap, but either way, Hermes has taken the trademark so that’s that :-)

I could swear I had some Mandarine Ambree soaps from Claus Porto a few years ago before they were discontinued (booo!). It’s such a bland name it hardly seems copyrightable. Like trademarking “Lemon and Lime” or “Lavender Vanilla”.

I think what they have trademarked is the full thing…I am guessing you could still make Mandarine Ambree but not Eau de Mandarine Ambree.

Interesting that the word “fresh” rather turns me off – considering that a Cologne should be fresh by definition. Eau d’orange verte is still my favorite even if it’s almost non-existent on my skin.

Ha, me too — and in fact I found Gentiane too fresh & clean, but loved Pamplemousse. So hoping one of these 2 will suit me.

So glad you specified that this new release will not interfere with the existence of the other Hermes colognes!
    IMO, Gentiane Blanche = Masterpiece.

Consider me curious, but not burning with desire… much as I love Hermès and JCE.

Count me among those who truly loves Gentiane Blanche. I’m on my second bottle.

Interesting they’ve added colours to the fragrance names.

I think the people at Hermes are trying to kill me. Or my savings. I already own (and love dearly, I try to pick a favourite but I never succeed) al three previous colognes (oh and the Jardin en Mediterannee, and Hiris, and the wonderfull mousson thing, and a few more Hermesses…. and I am trying my best to ignore Vetiver Tonka and Paprika Bresil but it hasn’t been easy), and it sounds like these two are going to be wonderfull aswell.
