That close-up shot of the blossoms actually had me smelling citrus blossom, if just for a moment. The power of association? Living in California, I sniff citrus blossoms at every opportunity– so the sight of a blossom at close range triggers the memory of that heavenly fragrance.

Great video, though it made me even more homesick this spring, longing for the scent of orange groves in full bloom!
The harvest reminds me so much of olive harvest back home, the kind of chores we had to participate in as kids 🙂

Golly, all that lovely stuff wasted on Lush products. Sorry, not a fan of Lush. If I can I take an alternative path through the shopiing mall to avoid walking past Lush. The smell is pretty overpowering, and I normally love scented products!

I always make a big detour too. Can’t stand the smell.

I love a few of their products, but admit the smell of the store is quite overwhelming.

I agree, such a waste! I also always make a detour if possible, or hold my breath when passing.

I just adore neroli/orange blossom and as usual, I really need to put together a Lush order. I always love these harvist videos. The kids and I loved the one from a month or so back where a group of village women and children were harvesting a resin… I forgot precisely which one. But it was just so great to think of the natural components of perfume rather than all the synthetics that go into most of them as well. Not that I don’t like synthetics, but I love the artistry of perfume, not just the end result.

That was a fun one too! For anyone else who wants to see it:

Nice film. That’s one factory I might not mind working in.

Lots of citrus are blooming right now here in So Cal, and I love walking down a street and getting a whiff of the scent unexpectedly now and then.

Could it really be true that Lush uses one-sixth the world supply of OB absolute and one-eighth of the world’s neroli? Is Lush THAT big?? I’m shocked.

Joe, I was shocked too. No idea whatsoever if it’s true, although when you think about it, the other big chains that do fragranced products (BBW, TBS, VS, etc) probably don’t use a whole lot of natural materials.
