Daisy cabs & lollipops

Posted by Robin on 24 September 2008 14 Comments

Marc Jacobs Daisy is one year old — how time flies! — and Coty is celebrating by creating a "Travelling Daisy Chain" of black cabs in the UK:

Black cab passengers will be able to let the sunshine into their journey with the Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance. For the first time ever iconic black cabs in the capital will be adorned in Daisies to create a Marc Jacobs Daisy chain. Along with London, the Marc Jacobs Daisy cabs will also be spotted in Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh capturing the essence of the fragrance, between 22nd september-19th october.

The sophisticated yet whimsical essence of Daisy continues inside the black cabs as Marc Jacobs introduces the new Daisy eau de parfum, with tip seats playfully decorated in daisy fields. Marc Jacobs Daisy lollipops with also be handed to passengers to enjoy during their journey! (via prnewswire)

I like Daisy and this way of advertizing for Marc Jacobs Daisy is NICE, really nice! 😀

That would completely make my day after an overseas flight + jetlag, seriously.

hmmm, is Coty aware of the other meaning of a “daisy chain”?? A commonly used slang phrase for a group of men giving each other blowjobs in a circle. LOL, I can't be the only one who finds that hilarious.

Well, I did not know about that expression Kelly Red.

It's more creative than some recent perfume advertising, that's for sure.

Still, not the first thing that comes to mind when you see a black cab with daisies on it, no?

Oh dear. I do think this is a cute campaign aside from the (admittedly hilarious) connotation pointed out by Kelly.

Daisy really has great branding and design, IMO.

That came to my mind, too.

    I love their campaign though!!

I like this campaign but I am not really into the scent itself. I prefer Marc's blush or splashes (but they don't last too long) I've has his Ivy and violet splashes and I liked them. Those large, pretty bottles looked perfect on the shelf in my bathroom.

I scored a free mini of Daisy with my latest purchase of Bvlgari Jasmin Noir and its miniature daisy top is just the most impossibly cute thing you ever saw – this has to be why people have children! Yet I remain completely unmoved by those Gwen Stefani dolls' heads – oh yes I do.

They really did a great job, and the new black bottle is cute.

I like the bottle better than the juice too.

The minis must be precious! I've never seen one. I'll stick with my doll's heads 🙂

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else find that photo slightly creepy? I mean, it's a very smiley man handing out flowers to a woman. Sort of like someone giving candy to a child to get him or her into the back of the car, no?

If she were much younger, maybe…but it just looks fake to me, not creepy.
