La Perla J'aime, Derek Jeter Driven Black ~ new fragrances

La Perla J'aime perfumeNew from La Perla: J'aime, a fragrance developed by perfumer Françoise Caron.

The notes for the floral chypre scent include bergamot, pepper, lychee, jasmine, water lily, raspberry, musk, caramel and patchouli.

La Perla J'Aime is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. It has launched overseas, and is expected to reach the US next spring. (via cosmoty.de, cosmeticnews)

Derek Jeter Driven Black cologne for men from AvonComing this December from Avon, Derek Jeter Driven Black, the "warmer and more intriguing" nighttime follow-up to last year's Derek Jeter Black fragrance for men.

Avon describes Driven Black as "a mysterious blend of exotic saffron, blood orange and exotic woods". Additional notes for the woody oriental include bergamot, mandarin, white cedar, vetiver, sandalwood and Tamboti wood.

Derek Jeter Driven Black will be available from Avon (and you can enter your email address to be notified when it is launched here). The 75 ml Eau de Toilette will be $26; additional grooming products are expected to launch next year. (First quote via Women's Wear Daily, second via Avon)

    A chypre with lychee, caramel and raspberry? Called J`aime? (what does this name remind me of…) Were they realy desperate at La Perla?

    Actually, I'm starting to think that lychee is one of the “requirements” of a modern chypre 😉

    Pardon my ignorance, but does “chypre” rhyme with “tripe”? I read that word all the time, but not knowing any fragrance freaks in person, I never hear it.

    Supposedly closer to “sheepra”, but it isn't like I ever hear people say it either 🙂
