It's been an amazing and creative process. You sit down with the 'juice' companies, and then they show you the different scents. You then compose the scent.
— Sounds easy, no? That's Mariah Carey on the development of her upcoming fragrance for Elizabeth Arden. (via upi) Update: read more about Carey's fragrance, M by Mariah Carey.
Isn't it hilarious how 'involved' she is! When I first read this quote I thought it was sarcastic.
I guess at least she is smelling things, right? That is apparently more than Danielle Steele did. Whether her fragrance will be any better than DS's as a result is, of course, anybody's guess.
Seriously, the 'juice' company? I mean, I know it's Mariah we're talking, but still… *gasp*
Poor little rich, overly exposed Mariah Carey…She just doesn't get it, does she?
Hugs!
*snerk*
Thank you for starting my morning off with a good laugh, R.
Oh sorry, I'm going to add to my snerking-
here's a link to the whole interview: Aspen Park's Carey-ed Away…
she further goes on to say, “The process was very similar to writing a song.”
I don't know if that says worse things about her songwriting abilities or her upcoming fragrance, though!
Ach, sorry, didn't know for sure if I could embed html links or not, but I thought I'd give it a try. Doesn't look like it worked. Sorry about that!
Goodness, she really is clueless. I suspect the “juice-mixers” like to keep it that way.
I guess she was just trying to use some industry lingo, but it does sound strange in this context.
S'ok, Katie, and thanks for the link!
The one time I used the term “juice” in a department store I was immediately asked which fragrance company I worked for. It isn't a widely used term, and guessing the “juice-mixing” companies would like to keep it that way, LOL…
LOL…she must not be quite rich enough, I guess!
Katie, did you honestly believe she does the songwriting? tsk tsk tsk :-))
Well of course, silly! Just like I believe she's composing the perfume herself! I also believe in unicorns and fairies and the yeti!
Poor Mariah, hehe.
ROFL! Poor indeed! :-))
Once again, I am feeling nauseated by all of these “Sell-lebrity”
scents that are coming out. Is this going to be the new generation of scents?
I'll be sticking to my classics and trying out other classics that I never tried before such as Serge Lutens and perhaps, Annick Goutal..
Isn't that what Mademoiselle Chanel did? And then she picked the fifth vial. LOL!
LOL — true enough. Let's hope someone as good as Ernest Beaux is helping MC (not likely, I know).
Do try some of the SLs and AGs, they are wonderful!
