Friday scent of the day 10/23

Posted by Robin on 23 October 2026 14 Comments

It's Mole Day, plus we have a few birthdays: Johnny Carson, Pelé, Anita Roddick. And it's Unbottling Emotions Friday...our community project for today: wear a scent that you think embodies an emotion, and tell us what that emotion is. Thanks go to happy888cat for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Me: Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré for cheerfulness.

Reminder: on 10/30, celebrate the start of Halloween weekend by wearing a fragrance that you like, but that isn't quite "you"...so it works as a costume, so to speak.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2026, where I'll occasionally manage to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m wearing Byzance, which a friend once described as a memory of something you have always known in your heart is true. I loved that.

That’s a beautiful description, cazaubon. A good friend wore this in university. It’s a great scent and the bottle is beautiful.

I love your SOTD, Robin, and I love its cheerful yellow bottle. The picture you chose is idyllic. I’d like to s[pend some time in the woods here. We have old growth forests and nice walking trails.

I chose Kelly Caleche because I haven’t worn it in a long time and I just wanted to smell it.

Hope everyone’s day is calm (a girl can dream, right? )

      Oh you likewise smell fantastic!

We are not getting intense fall color here so far, but I would not mind a nice walk in the woods myself.

    Guerlain Insolence for defiant playfulness.

Good morning and Happy FriYAY y’all!

I gotta get back in the groove of remembering the community project! I’m still projecting last night’s bedtime scent: Radiant Mirage by Estee Lauder. My favorite kind of patchouli…..

    Have a great weekend everybody!

You have a great weekend too! And do ignore the cps unless they amuse you 🙂

I’m back in Astier de Villatte today, but went with Ambré Liquide which is a sparkling, sun drenched amber. As far as a matching emotion, I’d say it’s the contented feeling of a walk through the woods under yellow and red autumn leaves, dappled sunshine patterning the path, and a day free from any kind of obligation or worry. It’s lovely, calming, and at the same time invigorating, inspiring a hopeful outlook in dark times.

Beautiful morning so I drove to the park to walk the dog and began to feel so ill I came back and I’m now back in bed. But it was a gorgeous morning:

Wearing CdG Kyoto. I do love incense and I need a little bit of extra zen today.

Wearing a new fragrance that I recently purchased makes me feel confident. SOTD is DSH American Beauty (Rose No 1).
