I am going to try out mattresses today-I am not sleeping well. We have a “mattress from a box” that is over 12 years old and is basically an oven. hurts my hips

I need to buy my son a new mattress so would love to hear what you end up with.
I have an Avocado mattress (latex hybrid) that is now 6 years old. It is not wearing 100% evenly, and it can be turned but not flipped, so I am a little bummed about it but I don’t know that any other mattress would have done better, and I did love it for the first 5 years. Still, it was a lot of money for only 5 years of love. (To be clear, I am still in like, but I am worried I will be in hate in another couple years.)
I also would like to hear about your mattress research. Mine is a solid latex one that’s about 15 years old now, and it was great (except for its unwieldiness) until about a year ago. Either it or I (or both of us perhaps) have aged and it seems to have gotten much firmer lately. Avocado is one that’s on my list to try, but bummed to hear that it might be much shorter lived than I’d hoped.

Turns out that yesterday I thought I was wearing Tauer’s L’Air des Alpes Suisses but I was actually wearing his Les Années 25 Bis. No wonder I wasn’t relating to any of the reviews🙃
Today I’m in his PHI Une Rose de Kandahar. What a beautiful rose fragrance!🌹
