Matière Première, the French niche house of perfumer Aurélien Guichard, has launched Black Currant Extrait, a new unisex fragrance.

A humble berry takes centre stage.

Every fragrance is built around a single, central natural ingredient used in its highest possible dosage, revealing the distinct facets of the central ingredient without overwhelming the nose. In this case, Black Currant Absolute France is at the heart, revealing the colourful and additive nature of cassis.

Additional notes include patchouli, rose oxide, leather accord and oud.

Matière Première Black Currant Extrait is available now at Harrods in the UK, £250 for 50 ml.
