Amouage has introduced Reception, a new fragrance in the Essences collection.
Composed by acclaimed, French perfumer Pierre Negrin, Reception begins with what can only be described as a luminous greeting. Like a door opening to a long-awaited guest, it is a heartfelt olfactory expression of hospitality. Chief amongst the riches it presents is a Coffee note: warm, embracing, and capable of instantly making its wearer feel a sense of welcome. Lemon and Pine contrast with the darkness of the Coffee to add a sense of luminosity: beams of radiance penetrating the interior which the honoured guest is invited to enter. Pink Pepper, Coriander and Juniper introduce a spicy inflection, reflecting not just the magnificence of the surroundings, but also the authenticity of the hospitality on offer.
As its unforgettable celebration continues, Reception enters its most soulful phase. Ancient and profound, Frankincense, Patchouli and Cedarwood express the timelessness of true friendship, and of the strength of the bonds that exist between individuals who always extend a welcome to each other, no matter how many miles and years separate them.
Finally, Vanilla, Cypriol and a carefully-judged dose of Musk create an unending glow of togetherness – an unshakeable conviction that even though this gathering will eventually have to end, as all gatherings must, it will leave an indelible mark on all those who have been touched by its generosity. A reception that will forever continue to share its gifts.
Amouage Reception is exclusive to Harrods in the UK, and is probably in 100 ml.

Defintely going on my try list.
I noticed you’ve just acquired two of the newer Amouage scents. I also want to try this one, but it sounds weird. Not sure how the pine and cypriol will mix with coffee, of all things. I would love to get Reason!
Reason is a good one! It’s a clear favourite of the 3 for me.
Same, this one’s notes sound strange indeed. I am thinking maybe the coffee is just roasted-ness in the composition?
Tried this in Harrods & it’s the opposite of what you say – it’s definitely coffee all the way until base notes. The Cypriol etc are structural.
