Guerlain Patchouli Paris ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 July 2024 9 Comments

Guerlain has introduced Patchouli Paris, a new addition to the L’Art & La Matière series.

Patchouli Paris is a 'sensual and woody interpretation of patchouli' intended to evoke 'a stroll in the heart of the Parisian night'. The notes include aldehydes, patchouli, iris, vanilla, ambergris accord and musks.

(I will update with the brand's English version of the entire description when it is available.)

Guerlain Patchouli Paris is available in 100 (€325) or 200 (€465) ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: the brand description...

With Patchouli Paris, Delphine Jelk intended to capture the soul of the Parisian night...to recount its audacity, to reveal its fragrance; the Seine blushing and pulsating, in a fresh, lively shiver of aldehydes and musks.

"If Patchouli Paris were a color, it would be the red glow of the artistic effervescence of Parisian nights." Delphine Jelk, Guerlain perfume creative Director and Perfumer

Patchouli Paris expresses the vibrancy of streets ablaze on a festive evening, in a trail of powdery, woody iris. Paris, dizzy with music and freedom.

[...] From the very first notes, the composition sweeps along with aldehydes, as fresh and lively as a shiver across skin. Then, the temperature rises at night under the red lights of Paris’ most impassioned district. Montmartre, Abbesses, Pigalle… We are at the heart of the Matière: disinhibited patchouli puts on a show and blazes upon contact with powdery and woody iris. The revelry changes face as the night draws to a close end as a prelude to other sensations. Caressing the skin, the depth of patchouli continues in an amber-toned sillage of vanilla, ambergris accord and musk.

Sounds fabulous but I’m truly priced out of this line.

Wonder what Guerlain’s take on patchouli smells like? 🤔
