Estee Lauder The Luxury Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 20 September 2021 18 Comments

Estée Lauder has launched The Luxury Collection, with 8 new fragrances: Blushing Sands, Desert Eden, Dream Dusk, Infinite Sky, Paradise Moon, Radiant Mirage, Sensuous Stars and Tender Light.

8 extraordinary fragrances that take you to enchanted, undiscovered places no fragrance has ever taken you before. Your mind and senses thrillingly alive, awakened and transformed.

[...] Thanks to our ScentCapture Fragrance Extender technology, the scent lasts up to 12 hours after every application. Nature and perfumery collide to create an astonishing innovation from Estée Lauder—a true first in luxury fragrance technology, and exclusively ours.

Blushing Sands ~ Woody vetiver. "Dreamy as the night, delicate as the dawn. Journey across soft, rose-tinted sands into a warm and welcoming world for the senses. A lush oasis of subtle depths, sensuality and light. This fragrance has a feeling of relaxation and sensuousness. [...] The dreamy scent of Vetiver from Haiti is surrounded by the shimmering, spicy freshness of Pink Pepper and an exclusive Musk Accord. A combination of bright woods and fresh spices. Relaxed. Sensual. Magnificent as a rose-tinted beach.

Desert Eden ~ Woody floral. "Imagine the breathtaking moment when the sun’s rays spread over the desert sand at dawn. Surrounding you in a warm, luminous aura. Taking you on a new adventure for mind, body and soul. This fragrance has a confident, energized feeling. [...] Noble Sandalwood is surrounded by the sublime luminosity of Turkish Rose and mystical Olibanum. As seductive as the desert at dawn."

Dream Dusk ~ Floral marine. "Walk through a garden in full bloom as flurries of Spring blossoms scent the air, illuminate the sky and exhilarate your senses. A dream without end that leads you into the beauty of dusk. This fragrance has an uplifting, cheerful feeling. [...] A Cherry Blossom Accord, capturing the magnified scent of the flower as it blooms in spring, is effortlessly blended with crisp Blackcurrant Buds from Burgundy and Chinese Geranium. Magical as a secret garden at dusk."

Infinite Sky ~ Spicy amber. "Rise up into a vast, brilliant sunset sky, turning the world below to amber and gold. Filling your senses with waves of pure happiness and your spirit with hope. When you return to earth you know that you can do anything now. The power is yours. This fragrance has a confident, sensual feeling. [...] A halo of golden sensuality radiates from the scent of Sichuan Pepper from China. It is surrounded by the smoky sweetness of Madagascar Vanilla and smoldering Leatherwood. As brilliant as a sky at sunset."

Paradise Moon ~ Floral leather. "Escape to a moonlit forest filled with unexpected temptations for the senses and rare, tantalizing flowers. Even the air shimmers with the aura of its moon-drenched power, a paradise forever untamable, forever wild. This fragrance has a happy, confident feeling. [...] An opulent treasury: notes of three types of lush Osmanthus flowers are surrounded by Cistus Oil from Spain and an untamed burnished Leather Accord. As enchanting as a moonlit forest."

Radiant Mirage ~ Woody white floral. "Envision a timeless road taking you into a new realm of the senses. The more you try to describe it, the more it escapes definition. Creating a mirage, ever present, yet always an adventure just beyond reach. This fragrance has an optimistic, positive feeling. [...] At its heart, the scent of Jasmine Sambac from China, whose dainty white flower belies its intoxicating aroma. It is surrounded by the warm contrasts of Australian Sandalwood and Indonesian Patchouli. A scent as optimistic and exciting as setting out on a new adventure."

Sensuous Stars ~ Fruity chypre. "Delight in the sensuous tranquility of walking among plum trees under a moonlit sky. In one exhilarating moment, an irresistible breeze takes you sky high, breathlessly floating among swirling stars. This fragrance has a feeling of calm and happiness. [...] A high-gloss Chinese Plum is surrounded by sumptuously rich Orris from Italy and a veil of warm French Lavender. As peaceful as a walk under the stars."

Tender Light ~ Green citrus. "In a burst of pure light be lifted into a palace of dreams. A golden realm of the senses that captures the warmth and joy that sunlight makes you feel. Awakening, illuminating and energizing. Leaving you feeling radiantly alive. This fragrance has a feeling of joyful positivity. [...] The distinctive fresh scent of an exclusively crafted Chinese Tea Accord is surrounded by the ultra-luxe freshness of Bergamot and warm, velvety Florentine Iris. Inspired by the warmth and joy of sunlight."

Estée Lauder Blushing Sands, Desert Eden, Dream Dusk, Infinite Sky, Paradise Moon, Radiant Mirage, Sensuous Stars and Tender Light are available in 40 (£68) or 100 (£135) ml Eau de Parfum.

This calls for a 5mL travel spray set, doesn’t it?

      I love your thinking.

      I love EL.
I should love this new collection yet, even though I am intrigued, it’s EL, nothing really looks luxurious to me. I am disappointed with the bottle and the names. I still want to smell them. It’s EL.
I wish the oldies didn’t have to/wouldn’t be reformulated as they were masterpieces for the most part. Oh well. Still looking forward to trying this new collection. I see they’re available in the UK and in France. The latest fragrances have been a little underwhelming and Aerin’s collection is okay but way overpriced. Wait and smell.

40 ml is good to see for a more “reasonable” price ;)

Yes — it’s not that bad compared to many other brands.

I think that £68 is what some of the 10 ml Tom Ford Private Blend is going for

I am so excited about this – but it’s not like EL did not already have wonderful fragrances that last 12 hours or more! Paradise Moon and Desert Eden will be on my test list, but since the price is given in British pounds, do we think these will be a while coming to the USA?

I really have no idea! They were not on the US website this morning, that’s all I know.

I am trying not to be *too* cynical but fragrances that last 12 hours are not a first, nor are they in any way exclusive. Heck, Revlon did a scent called Lasting in the mid ’90s with an entire ad campaign based on the fact that it lasted 12 hours or more. Anything with lots of base notes is still going to be around the next morning at least.

Also did we need 8 more scents dumped on us all at once, in a market which already boasts thousands and thousands of scents?

All right fine I am too cynical.

Yes to all the above, plus the ridiculous hyperbolic prose of the press release… please spare us.

Now that you mention it, that phalanx of 8 scents marching upon us does not exactly suggest luxury! I think the price point and formulations are meant to encourage us to buy 2, so it’s really just four scents?!? :)

Um. Lol. I love you EL but.. really? Haha. I hope these are good but if not..there’s always the oldies but goodies that what? Have not been discontinued…for now lol.

My approach to perfume is uncynical and I will try almost anything from a tester. I’ll try Paradise Moon and Sensuous Stars for sure, if not all if I get the opportunity. I want to put the 12 hour claim to a test.

Yes – if for nothing else, I want to see if, in a sea of weak and nothing to smell here folks perfumes, there is a 12 hour scent!

After seeing the names and reading the descriptions and notes, I thought to myself, the notes don’t match the names! Plus, the names don’t say “luxury” to me, they sound like Bath And Body Works products. I don’t understand a launch of 8 perfumes all at once. I’m imagining a trip to the Lauder counter to spray some blotter sticks, and after two or three, walking away.
