Hump Day! (And in the UK, National Numeracy Day.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré (again — I am still at the beach and my fragrance collection is limited).
Reminder: 5/21 is World Meditation Day. Wear whatever you think fits the theme.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2021, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Twins with Robin in Hermes Eau de Neroli Dore, lavishly sprayed thanks to the recent swapmeet.
Busy day with work in the morning and my mother in the afternoon. Temps will be feeling in the 90’s. No complaints, but I don’t like sudden changes like this in temps.
Coffee with orange blossom water and a thick slice of brioche.
Happy Wednesday! ?
Hey twin!! We are a bit balmier here, expecting a high of 82.
Hope your busy day goes well!
Thank you, Robin!
You will have a great temperature! It will be 86 here feeling in the lower 90’s.
And it will be 72 where I am today. Can I please have some of your heat?
Sending you some! ? I love the 80’s, but not the humidity!
“Feels like” temps here were in the mid 90’s today! Ack! ??
But the cats LOVED their afternoon sunbathing.
Same here! Sunday will be worse, but at least we are back to the 70’s tomorrow and until Saturday. Summer is knocking on the door already! ??
Surprisingly cool this morning, 8°C, so I am wearing Montale Vanilla Extasy, an extremely nice vanilla, simple but not boring.
Wow, just reading your temp made me shiver!
(46, for anyone else C to F challenged)
Volutes EDP again…because it smelled so damn good yesterday.
A good reason! And you smell great.
thank you!
Twins! Great choice!
Hi Robin, is the Neroli Dore a great scent for the beach? I am commando but will figure something out:)
Well, it is not beachy, but it is cheerful and smells like sunshine! And, I put it on as soon as I got up & it will fade by the time I am lying on the sand.
Well but I read Your review about it and really liked it:)) I am glad You’re enjoying it though
I am going to apply some Olympic Orchids Hamsa today after I water all the thirsty plants. I have fragrances that I chose specifically with Yoga and meditation in mind. Hamsa is one but also Chris Rusak Io, and sometimes just little dabs of vetiver essential oil. Incense would be nice too but many are hugely projecting, maybe Passage D’Enfer could work. Also, Ancient Resins but little dabs at the temples and back of the neck and on the clavicles so you can enjoy it whilst practicing.
I am away from home for 2 weeks and unreasonably worried about my plants — wish you would come water mine, ha!
Ancient Resins is perfect and wish I’d brought it with me.
Iris Ukiyoe is my go to scent for Yoga. I like the sound of your meditative choices.
Hamsa is so beautiful and peaceful. You smell great!
I’m in grey today – grey jeans, grey sweater, and Grey Vetiver. I have a dental appointment today, and I think I overapplied because of a faulty sprayer from STC. I may have to wash some off.
Good luck with the dentist! I’ll be going tomorrow afternoon.
The dentist and hygienist will be heavily masked and won’t smell a thing, you’ll be fine! ?
Have a greyt day!
Maybe you will even get a compliment!
Hi all, my SOTD is vintage Coco by Chanel. It’s cool and super windy, in the mood for animalic spices today.
Coffee consumed, I’m off to the gym!
go, go, go, SmokeyToes! and go, go, Coco!
You smell divine.
Love it, what tiffanie says!
Haven’t worn Coco in a while. You smell fabulous!
SotD = Luci ed Ombre
light and shadow for a cloudy Wednesday morning. The incense in Luci ed Ombre smooths out the tuberose so it’s never screechy, just a beautiful cloud of serenity.
I wore Avignon yesterday, Bogue MEM and Breath of God are on my desk for the next few days. Meditative is a good place to be.
That photo of Guanyin makes me happy. My grandmother collected art from China and Japan as well as the Pacific Islands. She had a more than four foot tall statue she called Kwan Yin that was similar in form to the one in today’s photo, though her right arm reached gently forward rather than out to the side. My grandparents traveled a lot. They dispersed much of their art to their children before they departed for a year in Fiji and the surrounding areas.
So Kwan Yin came to live at my house when I was about 5 years old. Most days before I Ieft for school I would pat her leg a few times and look into her face. I didn’t know who she was then, but I knew that I loved her serene expression, and that she would be waiting to greet me when I walked through my front door every afternoon.
A few years later my family moved to a new city, and for some reason my mother decided to give Kwan Yin back to my grandmother, who gave her to my uncle. He still has her, and though I’ve looked for decades I’ve never found another like her. I have seen many beautiful depictions of Guanyin (and Tara) in my search, so it’s all good.
Oooh, those are good choices — I need to go home tonight and raid my collection for Mem & Avignon! I love the story of Kwan Yin! It would be lovely to be greeted by her each day.
Enjoy your MEM and Avignon. They are lovely.
That statue was like a friend to me. I still miss her!
Oh how nice! I guess would be nicer if your uncle would give it back to you.
What the statue made of wood, or ?
I have always wanted a Bitossi / Aldo Londi version, they are usually done in blue ceramic but they do vary. Too spendy these days though.

Those are beautiful! I especially like that first one, the very blue one.
That one is my favorite too.
Those blues on the faces are divine. I would love any one them in my home. I’m so glad you shared them, my search for my perfect Kwan Yin is neverending.
I remember that my grandmother’s statue was very heavy. It seemed like she was made of stone, though it could have been plaster or something else that was carved. She had been painted a mottled turquoise to look like copper that had gone completely blue with age. She was lovely.
Well I hope your uncle knows you have fond memories of it…
Those are beautiful and distinctive. I’m also seeing a couple on 1st Dibs, but that is a lot of money for just the head. ?
Yes, and they were not luxury items in the 60s when they came out! Sure are now.
I have a similar Water and Moon Kuan Yin statue (also called Royal Ease, I believe), on a small stand next to my bed. I find that gazing at its serene face tends to make me calmer.
yes! Such a serene face, she always makes me smile and breathe deeply. I did not know the name Royal Ease, thank you for enlightening me!
Thank you for sharing that beautiful memory!
aw, you’re welcome! It’s a memory that has not faded, that’s for certain.
Great memory! I was at the Nelson-Atkins about 5 years ago and I could have spent 2-3 days there.
In Le Cri and sporting nearly blond hair. Feeling sprightly!
Yes! I’ve been trying to get here (this level of lightening) for about two years. My usual hair person couldn’t reschedule me in time for my trip later this month, so I went somewhere else. So glad I did. I love this color–balayage without any brassy, reddish tones. Who knew a hair color could make me so happy?!?!
What fun!
Yay!
Sounds fabulous!!
Your new highlights sound awesome!
That sounds gorgeous! I’m glad you were able to get spruced up.
Morning and happy hump day.
I am smelling good and yummy in Candy.
Oh, yes you are!
Cool here — weird weather with a front going through and thunderstorms. (We rarely get thunderstorms.) It cooled off quite a bit — it’ll probably be about 10C when I go for my pre-meeting walk in a little bit. I don’t know if LADDM is really meditative, but then, there were lots of desert hermits over time, right? For me it’s just comforting.
Got my first shot yesterday — so far, so good, just some soreness in my arm like with flu shots. Now that they finally have the vaccines ramped up here, the whole process was surprisingly efficient.
I really do need to go liberate a couple more bottles from my house. Things I have learned: Apparently when it looks like your floors are basically done, there’s a lot more work to do. I was just told yesterday that they want two more weeks of us out of the house to finish the trim, etc. It only took them three or four days to get the floorboards down — how can it take that much longer for finishing? And now the kitchen design issues start as well, with the demolition over. Sigh.
But, I’m vaccinated (well, half vaccinated) and happy!
So glad you got your first shot!!
(And good luck with those floors.)
Congratulations on the vaccine. I got mine last week and also had a tender arm from the injection site. A small price to pay as it’s such a liberating feeling!
New floors sound heavenly! Good luck with the renovations.
Congratulations on being “half vaxxed”!
Congrats on your first shot!
Congrats on the first shot. I hope your renovation goes faster than expected! Your scent choice is a definite fit with meditation – can you imagine how easy it would be to lose yourself contemplating the stars in a desert sky?
Congrats on shot #1 and that it went smoothly despite the initial chaos!
I’m in Essential Parfums The Musk today, which I liked better the last time I wore it than I do today.
Struggling with some school nonsense and an anxious child of my own today. Is it Friday yet?
Hope Friday is here before you know it irisjasmine!
Thanks! (Oh, and do try Lustre again. I’m loving it.)
I am also struggling with school nonsense. Not for much longer… we’ll get through this crazy year soon!
Robin, your fragrance options may be currently limited but you smell so good that I decided to join you in Neroli Doré! Now, if only I was at the beach instead of working on a grant application…
Well, now you are here at the beach with me in spirit. And we’re just about to head down to the sand …
(Note, however, that in reality you will get a grant and I will just get a sunburn…)
Yes, but it’ll be *your* sunburn, whereas it’ll just be my agency’s grant.
Ha…then do come to the beach.
I am wearing Carthusia Ligea la Sirena and drinking a cup of Vanilla Orange black tea.
My 15 year old dog had surgery yesterday and came home late last evening. It was to remove a tumor on his back side. Poor thing is crying now and I am waiting for his pain pill to kick in
I am glad he was able to come through this surgery, being that he is elderly and high risk.
We live by a lake and he was still a little loopy this morning, but still found the energy to bark at people on the nearby walking path. Lol. My husband says he’s a member of the Night’s Watch from Game of Thrones.
Poor pup
Hoping he feels better soon!
Aww, poor boy…hope he feels better but glad he continues his Watch …he is the watcher on the walls…the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men afterall… ;)❄️
Wishing your doggie a speedy recovery!
Oh poor pupper, it must be so hard to see him hurting but a relief that all went well. Wishing him a fast and thorough recovery!
It must be so upsetting to hear your doggy crying! I hope his meds kick in soon, and he heals comfortably.
Aww, sending healing vibes to your puppy!
Thanks for well wishes
Quick update: Medicine worked, but only for a little while . He woke up howling. I brought him to vet and they gave him a pain shot and an appetite stimulant, and told me it would take an hour to kick in. He is finally relaxing a little bit, as I am typing this. I think it has just kicked in.
Oh no! Poor guy, glad the vet was able to give him something stronger.
Hope he will recover quickly.
Best wishes for you and your pup.
Glad to hear that your dog’s surgery went well, and that the vet was able to give him something else for his pain. Hope that things continue going well for him!
Sending him virtual boops and belly rubs. I hope he is feeling better soon.
Glad he came *home* so soon!
Oh, all my belly rubs and scritches to your good boy! I hope his recovery is quick and easy.
Spent more time in Happy in Bloom this morning and now in Pleasures. Going to be a warm/hot week this week and getting the rest of my mom’s birthday gift today. Now my friend’s husband is pleading with me for a place to live since they will be homeless in a few days. I haven’t responded yet but still can’t have them here.
They should contact the Red Cross.
I’m sorry you have to deal with that stress. You are under no obligation to have them at your home. Don’t let anyone pressure you into a situation that’s impossible for you and your family.
Sampling Mizensir Solar Blossom again which is lovely…neroli, orange blossom, jasmine and vanilla. I didn’t find it to have great longevity which my first couple wearings though so I did hajusuuri level sprays this time…maybe 8 or 9 from the 2 ml sample. Go big or go home.??
I hope it gave you longer wear!
I intended to wear Eva again today, but when I got to the perfume shelf all the other bottles looked sad and neglected, which caused the hand to reach for Le Galion Iris. It’s playing very nicely with the remnants of Le Dix on my sweater cuffs.
And, after years of intermittent searching, I at last have identified the origin of the color in one area of our house! It was the first room we painted when we moved in 16 years ago, and the paint chip has the color’s name and number, but not the paint company’s name – very frustrating because we now have water damage in that room needing to be repaired. Another deep dive into the googles this morning finally got the right hit. Now to find out whether Benj Moore can still formulate it.
Any chance you may be feeling adventurous and pick a different color?
Ohhh, so tempting … but that would mean repainting the entire room instead of one and third walls. It was dark forest green when we moved in, but the floor tiles are a kind of rustic pale sea blue-green and the color we repainted with is a much better fit (and it also contrasts nicely with the room just outside it, which is a pale pumpkin shade … which sounds terrible, but is actually a very happy color). If we can’t get a true match, though, we’ll have to paint the whole room … and I could be talked into going ever so slightly lighter in color. We’ll see!
Benji Moore (annoyingly) has adjusted the pigment mix in some of their colors over time, so that the pigments in the 2005 version of SheriG Blue may be different than those in the 2021 version of SheriG Blue. If you can, I recommend getting a sample pot and testing it before getting a full gallon(s). It is an extra trip to the store but can save some $$$.
Excellent advice – am hoping they will do a sample, but if (as I suspect) it’s a discontinued color for them, it might be considered a special order. I’ve mostly been using Sherwin Williams lately so am not up to speed on Benj Moore’s rules about that.
Oy! Decisions! Seeing your response to Vee, perhaps you can try with a first coat that would change the overall layered paint?
Most likely, yes, Ben Moore can. Paint stores usually have a computer that can call up paint formulas and dispense the pigment into a selected can of pain. (Former paint chemist here.)
Are you indeed? I’m endlessly fascinated by the glimpses into past lives that NSTers occasionally let slip. Were you tasked with coming up with new colors, or finding the right combinations of pigments to match someone else’s vision, or something else that’s not occurring to me? Was it like perfumery, except with color instead of fragrance?
At one point, every paint chemist at the company I was working for at that time was helping to formulate an entire new color system. It was a Herculean task.
But my everyday tasks were more along the lines of improving current formulas of existing products.
Wow. The sciences and I didn’t click for the most part. I did enjoy the heck out of geology, and my degree is in math, but chemistry and physics broke my brain.
And that should have been “can of paint” NOT “can of pain”. Although sometimes it could be considered a pain…
Also, paint stores don’t mind match to a competitor’s color. It means that they get the business instead of the other guy.
Hah! I didn’t even notice the typo, and it is indeed a can of pain from time to time – my pilates teacher has spent the last two sessions fixing the pains resulting from last week’s painting project!
They can probably generate a match based on the paint chip itself or a sample of the paint from the wall.
My building maintenance people had to repaint part of a wall in my bathroom that they damaged They just dug a bit from the dried up paint in a can I had, and the paint store mixed up the small amount they needed.
They said it would not have helped just to have the exact name and number of the paint because of the change in formulae.
My paint chip is very old and dirty at this point, sadly. I’ve thought about chipping out a piece of the wall where it could be repaired and giving that to them to dupe the color though.
If you have a piece of fabric in your desired color, the new paint can be matched to that. I’ve seen people bring in towels or pillowcases for a color sample.
Narciso, white cube. I’ve been trying a lot of musk fragrances lately trying to find something that clicks with me without smelling too “laundry”. Not sure why I’m bothering when I have this one laying around.
White Cube is near perfect.
With the popularity of “cleaner” scents, they’re putting out musks that are JUST musk. I put it on and then I ask “…and?” Narciso was smart enough to say “well, gardenia, of course!” I really love it.
We are scent twins today!
L’heure de Nuit is a good laundry Musk type but on the expensive side. But it’s not exactly skanky. If you want inexpensive and slightly skanky, Kiehl’s Musk Blend works. I don’t have a lot in the way in Musk in my collection.
Agree with lillyjo, White Cube is near perfect. Even Luca Turin gives it 5 stars in the 2018 perfumes the guide. I also like the edt and even though I think the edp is a better scent, somehow the edt is usually easier to wear for me.
I haven’t tried the edt! I do like the Rouge flanker though.
White Cube is way out of my Youth Dew/skanky bombshell wheelhouse but I love it – it was a Plato’s Closet thrifting score!
I wish my Plato’s Closet had perfume.
That IS a score!
I am wearing Narciso today along with Dorsey. Yesterday I ended up at Ikea looking at kitchen cabinets. So many possibilities and I am design-impaired. Really. The painter picked the color for the bathroom because the one I picked was so wrong with the tiles. I once bought an entire outfit off a mannequin because it coordinated and I knew I could never put it together buying separates. So I like the ash cabinets, the blue cabinets, the white cabinets, and the light gray cabinets. I know that someone clever could put two or three in a configuration that would be gorgeous, but I will probably end up with white or gray. Even at Ikea it’s too expensive to make a mistake and the kitchen area is tiny.
I can relate to this story. I let my 12 year old daughter pick my floor color because I’m that hopeless. She did a great job!
Ha! That’s awesome that she did a good job! I bet she enjoyed getting to pick, too.
I mean, it’s not an easy decision even if you’re into design. I have my heart set on their dark Kungsbacka set, I think it’s gorgeous. But my kitchen is not that big, so I’m worried it will feel cramped – this dilemma has been ongoing for about a year, as the renovations got postponed I still have a couple of months to agonize over it.
In any case, white & gray are safe choices. What kind of blue is the blue? If it’s navy, it’s a good chance it also goes with pretty much anything…
Just googled those cabinets, and agree they are gorgeous!
Having gone with white back in 1995 and still being happy with it, I’d say you can’t go wrong with white. Styles in colors come and go, but white is always fine. You can bring in color with tile or with towels, art, curtains, etc. that are easy to change.
Wistfully wearing the last few drops of Jardins Ottomans, by long defunct line Gobin-Daudé. My decant is officially thunked!
When I first started reading perfume blogs over 10 years ago, there was a lot of sadness about the vanishing of Gobin-Daudé. The name has stayed with me, so I can appreciate your wistfulness
Oh, no — Gobin-Daudé is my biggest perfume regret! It was available when I first started sampling niche perfumes in interest, but I didn’t try it then because the price was a bit high, and I didn’t like the boxes! I’m still kicking myself!
I have small amounts of two of the weird ones, which were all that was left when I finally saw the light. I am glad to have them but I wish I’d tried the whole line.
I laugh now at how overpriced I thought it was!
Verte de Fleur today, sadly the decant is dwindling. I don’t want to pay the price for a FB, so when is done is done.
More fish in the sea, right?
Yessss…
Thanks for the many kind and empowering advice I received yesterday about my anxiety in re-entering the social scene. It really meant so much and has been very helpful to hear.
Joining in CP with Gaiac today. I find simple woody scents to be meditative. I haven’t worn this one in ages, it’s sometime I wore all the time when I worked with a scent-averse coworker. Just one spritz, and she never complained!
I find woody scents meditative too, and neglected to bring any with me.
I’m in Diptyque Volutes EDP. I like that it’s not too heavy for spring, and it’s so nice on this gloomy-rainy day, although it’s not very on point with the CP.
I got my first vaccine yesterday and luckily all I’ve got is some soreness in my arm. I also lucked out in not having to queue, I got there and about 5 minutes later I was vaccinated. The day before, people had to queue for an hour.
All I had was arm soreness too, hope the second one goes as well!?
Hooray for no line and minimal side effects! You smell great.
Congrats on getting Shot #1!
Yay!
Congratulations! Vaccine and arm soreness twins!
Wearing Bronze Goddess oil today. I’m trying to use some of my oils since I have a few of them in my collection. This still smells perfect.
Yum, I bet it does!?
My fluttery perfume thoughts have landed on Fille en Aiguilles. I’m wearing a dark green dress with splashes of colour, so pine trees and dried fruit seem appropriate.
That does sound like a perfect match!
Milk of Flowers while I hang out on my building’s roof deck. We went furniture shopping and we’ll have a sofa bed (and some other stuff) come Sunday which isn’t soon enough for my poor back. Back spasms from the air mattress aren’t fun. Our Instant Pot arrived yesterday so I made my favorite pan cookie this morning but I may have to extend the baking a couple of minutes to firm up the dough. Just getting used to here
Glad you made the move! And new furniture is always exciting!
I’m glad you’re getting settled in. Have you had a chance to go outside and explore the new neighborhood??
Hope your back feels better soon!
Sotd – Started out in Rose 31 after being inspired by using the conditioner (my husband, like someone else mentioned their husband did, brought back various Rose 31 products from a pre-pandemic hotel stay).
I nearly fell over (or divorced him!) when he described the full cart outside his room of Rose 31 lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap that he summarily ignored! Arrrg!
Now I’m in Irisque. The initial top note isn’t particularly meditative but it dries down beautifully.
I am on theme in Heretic Smudge from a sample. This seems to be the only incense I have on hand at the moment. Hmmm, need to remedy that.
Back home after another whirlwind 24+ hours. My college daughter and I went and moved her out of her college apartment yesterday. We put all her stuff in storage for the summer and it only took 4 trips in my little golf wagon to get it there, lol. Today was the cleaning. Fun times. We stayed at the cutest little Airbnb last night. On the drive home this afternoon we talked about how this summer we are going to have FuN! Starting to plan some things to look forward to. Summers on the Midwest seem to go by so fast, need to enjoy them while they’re here.?
That sounds like an amazing two days. I am always thrilled to read about you and your relationship with your children – it just makes me happy. Your scent is freaking gorgeous – I love Smudge.
Aww, thanks sistine, they’re my favorite humans.☺️
Smudge is a really good incense!
I’m excited for your fun summer!
I hope it will be fun! That’s what we’re gonna aim for!
Wearing an old friend, Cacharel Noa.
Old friends really are comforting.
They really are, thank you Annie, this one is light but surprisingly tenacious.
I remember that (Noa) being lovely in snowy winter weather.
Glad you like it too, it’s a lovely light and musky perfume.
SOTD = Chris Rusak Io
Another incense ?

In other news:
1. If you qualify to be unmasked (appropriate setting and vaccine status), would you?
2. Why do people say “It did not disappoint” to describe a perfume that, by all accounts, the wearer expected to like / love and indeed, liked / loved? ?
My responses to your questions:
1. It depends. If I am in a crowded, indoor setting, I am keeping the mask on. I am fully vaccinated but I don’t want to take the chance.
2. Lack of imagination?
How crowded is a crowd? Pretty much in any grocery, more than one person or one person on their phone is too much for me!
You could be right about the lack of imagination.
Any retail setting, for sure. Doctor and dentist appointments, unless they tell me otherwise. Movie theaters, definitely (not that I see movies that often).
Incense? Sounds like a winner! Looks pretty dense.
1. I wouldn’t wear a mask at a small get together, outside with vaccinated friends, I assume have my best interests at heart. That said, I am nervous about the breakthrough cases, so I have no idea. I did take off my mask at the dentist today and needed some chill pills prior. I am REALLY excited to see people, though. Just feels weird.
2. Maybe people assume, based on the hubbub surrounding a new fragrance that they will love it. Or the notes.
That’s me with any dirty, filthy hippie Patchouli. “Ooh. This did not disappoint. ” Of course, I am talking to my ?.
Catcha later. ?
Ha! “Saw” you earlier! Io is actually very resinous – it’s one of my favorite incense.
I do need to practice for going to a wedding a month from tomorrow. Hopefully, it’s a place with high ceilings! When my siblings and I met in September at the mall, we were all masked up. Starting in October, we met at my sister’s place maskless but socially distanced. We had met several times since then maskless, several times before we got vaccinated and then so far once after we were all vaxxed.
As to “it doesn’t disappoint”, I just think it’s a useless phrase because people can tell based on one’s review.
1. Yes.
2. I love the phrase I got from Bois de Jasmin: olfactory stoicism. I like so many different types of perfume, and have so often changed my mind, that I am reluctant to say anything is a dislike. (But giving the side-eye to vintage Polo.)
hahaha, vintage Polo is my kryptonite, I cringe just thinking about it. ::D
?
Well, that was a definite yes!
I can see how one can be reluctant to commit but I say you can just say you changed your mind. Nothing wrong with it, just a preference for it to not be used (I see it a lot on Fragrantica).
1. I’m not sure. I’m fully vaccinated but still wear my mask everywhere because I worry that everyone hasn’t had a chance to be vaccinated. However, with my small inner circle I don’t, because we’re all fully vaccinated.
2. I’ve always interpreted this phrase as “I hesitated to try this because if hype/ reviews, but I eventually did and it was really good.” But it does seem kind of wishy washy.
And that is something I have been wondering about. If someone is fully vaccinated (like You) does it mean they still have to wear a mask and follow all safety precautions? I see quite a few employees in our large grocery stores without a mask claiming to be vaccinated… But reading online about it now they say most likely vaccinated people won’t spread the virus but they are still testing the waters with and so all people should still be wearing a mask vaccinated or not…
The CDC says no need to wear a mask and no need to stay 6 feet apart; I don’t think they addressed the washing of hands but this to me is the minimum basic even in the best of times pre-pandemic. I just don’t trust the general public and will need to get comfortable being maskless.
Well it is always better to be safe than sorry. And also someone mentioned there is a lot of germs around anyways… It took this whole pandemic to change our lives and maybe forever!! Now the whole world is taking all these steps in order to stay healthy and safe…
I am with you on the inner circle … really, just my immediate family when indoors and outdoors with a few others.
I agree it sounds wishy-washy!
I’m only going maskless in my family bubble – my household plus my sister’s family and my parents. For now.
It did not disappoint – perhaps it is an understated way to mask one’s childish glee at yet again being over the moon because of something so wonderful.
Family bubble – we have been maskless since October but have stayed socially distant even after vaccination.
That’s a double negative which is what is making me cringe.
My family is big on hugs, especially my mother, so after more than a year of distancing we’re just over and done with it. If things get bad again I can see us masking up and hugging it out anyway.
Fie on all double negatives, I don’t like them either.
I plan on wearing mine. Between the mask and non stop hand sanitation, I feel it’s been helpful against fighting other germs.
There are so many coughing customers where I work, I also plan on staying 6 feet back.
As long as you’re not being prevented from wearing one, it should be ok to wear one. I know you didn’t get a real answer from your doc which so totally does not make sense at all! On my short walk this early evening, I saw a house with a hand sanitizer stand outside, next to the door. I suppose it’s a highly trafficked house!
Running late today!
Early taste of summer here. The A/C has been buzzing this afternoon. ???
I tried ordering the cats’ wet food from Chewy.com earlier this afternoon only to discover that one of the flavors I wanted was out of stock. Good thing I tend to order a few days before they are due to run out. Guess I will start rationing the flavor that is out of stock until I can reorder.
SOTD = Soivohle Kaffir & Green Fig Cologne Fraiche, from the sample stash. It sure behaves like a cologne… gone in a few hours even on my scent glue skin.
Yes, ration. You cannot allow their Catnesses to be disappointed. Heat wave here, too.
The thing is, the flavor I can get is one that both cats LOVE, but one of them will throw up about half the time. The out of stock flavor is much easier on her little digestive system.
In my sample of Parfum de Therese because I had to give a virtual work presentation and wanted to feel put together. But then when I went to a final practice run two hours ahead of time, I found that the computer had eaten my file. The one I worked on all day yesterday and saved relentlessly until I finally had it exactly how I wanted it at 10pm at which point I saved again and logged off. Poof. Gone. IT could not find it or any of the phantom saves. Apparently an update rolled out yesterday that didn’t install properly and PPT restored itself using an earlier backup of the presentation file. It’s not as tho I had nothing to use, but it was my first big presentation since starting this job in the fall, and it was to 100+ people, and between having to use the older version, racing to fix it as much as I could, and missing my final prep session, it wasn’t nearly as polished as I wanted it to be.
Hoping the Sniffa event tonight will cheer me up.
Aaaand I managed to post this as a reply to Jalapeno instead of on its own. Is today over yet?
I’ve done the same thing. Not a prob.
Enjoy the Sniffa!
That makes me feel sick for you – however, I do strongly suspect that your presentation was effective in spite of such a monkey wrench throw!
Eek! Cat food conundrums are super serious.
If worst comes to worst, I have plenty of their kibble on hand. They can eat that exclusively. But there would be lots of kvetching on their part.
Oh no about the out of stock ! I recently read an anecdote about how cats were revered in the ancient times and they have never let anyone forget it ?
They certainly seem to know that! ??
BTW, Mr. Jalapeno didn’t need any soup or special eats. His only vaccine side effects were the sore arm and fatigue. Lucky!
That’s great. Glad to hear that!
Another day in current version Casmir, followed by Avon Foxfire after I got home from work and changed clothes. Because I am doing some training for a new employee I’ve only used one or two spritzes of SotD this week. Very odd for me, but it does prove that I can still notice some waft at that level. Of course I was dying to ask the new person if she had a favorite perfume, but we have not had time for much personal chat. Our office is moving to a new building next month, and there is much kerfuffle in the background. Happy Wednesday – off to read comments but I am sure you all smell wonderful.
Thanks Jalapeno! And yes, ration those favorite flavors. My kitties are NOT HAPPY that they’ve been getting tuna flavor while the shrimp is out of stock. Both smell so terrible that I’m surprised my cats can taste a difference. And of course once shrimp is back on the menu they won’t want it anymore.
And then this one was supposed to be a reply and wasn’t. That’s it. I’m done with technology for today!!!!
Yeah, it’s frustrating how fickle cats can be with their food.
I think my dog is a cat.
LOL!
Today I wore TDC’s Bois d’Iris. It was a crazy busy day, but I kept getting wafts and thinking “what did I wear today? I smell great!”
Of course, the fact that I couldn’t remember what I wore today shows how busy I was. Sigh.
Love those little perfumed wafts!
Ha! I only have these moments when I am not in my house!
Omnia Crystalline. I forgot I had it, and even for some unknown reason found another box in the bathroom of it. So I have 2. I just realized Dunkin’ Donuts stopped the toasted coconut donut, so now I’ll never have to worry about over eating donuts ever again. I don’t want to know about any other donut. What a disappointment.
Seriously, no other donut is calling your name? I bet there’s another coconut somewhere – Krispy Kreme?
No. Only the toasted coconut. I used to cut it into 16 pieces and leisurely eat it with coffee. No other donut will do. It had a firm cakey texture and lots of coconut. What a start to a Saturday.
Sotd is Allure edp. I’ve been successful in not turning the air conditioning on.. So far. I would like just two full months a year where I’m not running the heater or air conditioner. I really don’t think it’s too much to ask.
I admire your resolve re: the A/C. I caved after a bad night’s sleep. If it’s too warm in the bedroom, I’m toast.
I’m trying to hold out because next week a cool down is expected.
If you can keep the A/C off for 2 months, will you reward yourself with a bottle of perfume? It’s counterintuitive but I need to sleep with blankets all year long and I almost always need the temperature to be cool when I’m asleep, even in the winter.
One of the things I love about the Northwest — I only turn the heaters on maybe 2 or 3 times a year when it gets really cold, and A/C doesn’t exist so I couldn’t turn it on if it were needed.
