That's right, it's Monday again. It's also Colin Firth's birthday. And, the swapmeet is still going! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Diptyque Volutes for a chilly September morning.
Reminder: on 9/14, wear one of your "top 10 of fall" fragrances (unless it's spring where you are, in which case wear one of your "top 10 of spring" scents).
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Wearing Bottega Veneta on this chilly ( 3 celcius) AM.
This is fast becoming one of my favourite scents ever, thanks to a swap with a great NSTer.
Definitely on my test list after all the raves it has received here!
3° C ??? *passes out*
The good news is the heat in my new apartments works well 🙂
wow , summer sure is short in Canada, isn’t it !
This morning was an anomaly, but we had a brutally hot summer, so I will be perfectly OK with cooler temps when they settle in.
That is indeed good news! *phew* (and presumably a much lighter bill in a smaller space…)
Better yet – included in the rent – always a serious bonus in Canada!!!
Oh, man – that is great. Congrats 😀
Brrrrrr! Hands you a hot cuppa tea
Hello – this is Sherry from Canada. Are you referring Bottega Veneta or the Parco Palladiano collection? I have a sample of VIII but it is not connecting.
Bottega Veneta – beautiful leather 🙂
Sorry your VIII isn’t working – haven’t tried that one (yet)
It was 5C here in Montreal this morning, but we will be back up to 28C by the end of the week.
Love BV, you smell great!
Bottega Veneta is a 4-season beauty for me. You smell(ed) wonderful today!
Wow, fall has really arrived punctually this year. I am testing Ummagumma, which is pretty delightful but will have to compete with Slumberhouse Ore for the chocolatey-woody spot on my shelf.
I had so much fun swapping this weekend! Looking forward to getting and sending all those little packages.
Yes…had to scramble to find clothing warm enough!
Glad the swapmeet is going well.
yes it’s monday and summer is ending, iam wearing l’Homme Intense 🙂
I am hoping we’ll get another quick “summer” before it’s over…we usually do in September.
In Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir for a chilly, grey, rainy, almost fall day!
The travel spray of that one lives in the youngest Marzipan’s room. We all love that one!!!
I also love Pomegranate Noir. It is one of my favorite fall scents!
It really IS perfect for fall…it also pairs nicely with Peony & Blush Suede…my eldest used to use it for that fragrance combining.
This is on my list to wear this week. You smell wonderful. Stay dry today!
Thank you Lillyjo!
Hopefully, I will be in the office the whole week….
On my list too
JM Pom Noir is a great scent for fall and winter! Looks like it may be a while before the temps drop enough for me to wear it, though.
Just took advantage of the chilly day today. Back to the summer perfumes tomorrow.
Reglisse Noire (almost down to the very last drop….guess it is just about a thunk with only a drop or two left)
Another “thunk” approaching….Yay!
But this one makes me sad because it is in my top five of all time category 🙁
Hopefully you will be able to replace it at some point.
😀
Where did you find it? I looked at LuckyScent and Fumerie and Surrender to Chance and the DecantShop. I found the 1000 Flowers site a little difficult to navigate.
My bottle is old. I think now you can only get it directly from the company’s website
Indiescents was the last place I saw it.
Elisa – I think it’s sold out in the fb and the 8ml size. I think indiescent is only selling the 1.5 ml at the moment.
Thanks!
Aw, I didn’t check, but that’s too bad.
Mississippi Medicine by DS &Durga for me. I’m loving the cooler temps!
I would love cooler temps more if there was sun. It is pretty yuck here!
Wow, I did not recognize Colin Firth on that photograph. Happy birthday to him!
I am in Bandit – its bitter green notes say ‘autumn’ to me.
Plus, it reflects my current mood. That payment from the client I mentioned on Firday still has not arrived. So I would like to rob the bank that has my money.
That pic is from Another Country, which might have been his first movie?
Ack, very good luck getting your $!
Good morning all! Fall is my favorite perfume season, and I am in Chergui today. Trying to recover from my 12 hours at work yesterday. I believe I have earned a nap on the couch with the dog, before heading back to work again this afternoon.
Cuddling with a pet is very relaxing. I should help you get much needed R&R.
And Chergui is wonderful. You smell lovely.
Chergui plus cuddlng sounds like perfection!
Puppy cuddles are wonderful things
I love Chergui, I am very close to finishing my bottle and I’m trying to stretch it out as much as possible. My boyfriend loves it, so it’s the “date night” perfume.
Puppo naps are the best, hope yours isn’t a snorer!
You smell great, and definitely deserve that nap with the dog!
Oh, Colin Firth – you had me at Pride and Prejudice. 🙂
SOTD for me is 24 Faubourg.
Be still my heart ????
You also smell great today!
It is still warm and muggy here in Texas. I’ve moved from finishing samples to finishing decants. Most of what is in my grab bag ended up being either Smell Bent or Dame. First up is Dame Verbena, Freesia & Musk, perfect for the weather today.
Well, it’s kind of fall-ish here today with a temperature of “only” 76, and it’s cloudy out with more rain predicted. SOTD is Zoologist Camel. I’d sort of passed it by in the samples I’ve got, thinking of it as rather too sweet, but it’s pretty good really, spicy with fruit and a very beautiful rose note.
The little green space near my driveway has sprouted some mushrooms with bright orange caps, which a friend swears are a type of boletus and are edible, but I don’t think I’ll try.
Hmm, Camel is sounding pretty intriguing. Enjoy your pleasant weather!
Ack. I wouldn’t try them either.
Unless your friend is a for-reals mycologist, I’d leave those shrooms where they are at! ????
Well, Impicked one this morning and cut it open, and it’s a fairly vivid blue-green inside, and definitely not appetizing looking! I think that if they’re white they may be ok, but blue is a definite no-no!
Sounds like a pretty definitive “NOPE!” to me.
That pic of Colin Firth is so dreamy!
I’m not ready to swap out my summer fragrances for fall just yet, so I’m in Prada Infusion de Vetiver. This one still works in cooler weather – it’s smelling unusually extra-floral on me today. I like it.
Ahhhh, you smell gorgeous.
I am not ready to swap out my summer fragrance either. It is good 65 degrees today, but we will be back to the 80’s tomorrow. So grateful for that!
You smell fantastic!
Who doesn’t love Colin Firth? No one, that’s who!
I’m in SB Incensed again.
I spied your perfume box….GORGEOUS!!!!! and so tidy and neat 🙂
Oh thanks! I’ll find the perfect spot to stash it once the van is done. ????????
True dat.
*awaits contrarian*
Here I beeeeeees !
Would’ja ?
Nope! ????????????
Back to your cave, hairy beast! ????
NO twink zone. ????????????
LOL…He was quite the awkward straight/confused/gay in Mamma Mia…????✌????
Ha! I just watched that movie yesterday. I think the whole cast was a little awkward but I still love it. bad singing and all! So fun to listen to while doing housework.
Rainy Monday…
I am snacking on some Liberte yogurt this morning because I am missing Canada, in particular the Quebec region. I was looking at some photos of our trip and wishing that some yummy cheese and poutine would fall from the sky..and land in my mouth. (also JT could fall from the sky and land on my lap) One of my neighbors who is Canadian left my kids a good night Montreal book by our door yesterday. Le Sigh..
Oh, where in Quebec? I’ve been to the Gatineau area a few times in autumn when the fall colors are in full glory and it’s stunning.
I’ve also been to Montreal, but only in January when it was -25 degrees, so can’t say I saw too much of the city…
I switched to Liberte from Activia because of the recent “buy Canadian” (otherwise known as the “if it says Made in America, put it back”) campaign. Heinz ketchup is also gone.
So is there good Canadian ketchup? (I actually don’t buy Heinz any more either unless I can find the organic + “real sugar” version, which I often can’t.)
French’s uses Canadian tomatoes, even though it is an American company. There is a Canadian ketchup, the name starts with “p” and I will think of it some day but not today. I haven’t found that anywhere though.
It was a gorgeous weekend in Montreal, trees are starting to change colour.
Hi all, SOTD is Sonoma Scent Studio’s Jour Ensoleille, from an older bottle.
Double shot of Cuban Espresso with a gluten-free Almond cookie (my own recipe).
Smoothie is kale/spinach/kefir/apple/banana. 😀
swooning at your fragrance…that is one of my all time favorites from the line…I am down to 1ml…but I am ever hopeful that the new owner will bring that one back because I am fairly certain that it is fairly popular.
I knew you’d like this one! I think besides Brooke, you and I are scent-twins. 🙂
I was lucky to purchase another bottle of this and Incense Pure. I hope the new owner will bring back these and Opal and Egyptian Musk, another two favorites of mine. 🙂
Indeed we are 🙂
and my goodness!!!! Egyptian Musk!!! No one ever mentions that one! I finished my full bottle of that about 7 years ago. I never got to try Opal but I remember it was supposed to be a gorgeous musky skin scent…I hope they bring it back as well. I already have a mental list of what I want-LOL!
I also have Incense Pure and Winter Woods and bought Amber Incense decant which was the very last sale that Laurie made (as a Christmas present from the mini Marzipans to me-LOL!!!!)
CM8, Opal was one of my favorite musk scents ever, and it was exactly as you describe, musky skin scent with just a hint of sweetness, no plastic note as some Egyptian Musks can have. I was so bummed when Laurie was unable to produce it, I think it was a supply chain issue with certain ingredients.
jepster, well come on over tomorrow! Tomorrow’s smoothie will be peach and kiwi (if they are ripe) with kefir and spinach.
And my Cuban coffee is stellar! 🙂
And that was so sweet of the mini-marzipans! Good kiddos. 🙂
Oh…I want your morning, food/coffee/scent and all !!!
So much rain- 48 hours straight. Lots of flooding around. Our garage is wet but that’s an ongoing problem, our basement seems dry for now which is good. My SOTD was OJ Champaca but when I get home I’m putting on my DSH Tunisian Amber body lotion for some warmth. I don’t think we’re done with summer temps yet but I’m taking advantage today.
Hope the basement stays dry!!
It’s a chilly morning here too, but the sun is out in full force, so no complaints. We have gone from hot and humid weather to instant fall. The kind of cool nights where one might *ahem* throw a second down comforter on their bed.????
Fall scents are my favorite though! I am a lover of all things amber, followed closely by all things vanilla.
SotD is Vanille 44. This was instant love and I am lucky to have a decant. Those city exclusive prices are downright ridiculous. I find it more of an incense than a vanilla, but I didn’t name it, Le Labo did.
I enjoyed the Vanille 44 sample I had but the price of the exclu$ive$!! Yikes! Not gonna happen in my world. Glad you got a decant!
Same!
Scent twin! And agreed on all points–love it but way too expensive. I normally find it more vanilla-y than incense, but today after spraying it for the first time all summer, I definitely got a bit of incense. Maybe it was the residual put left in the sprayer from the last time I used it? I dunno, but it still smells wonderful on this rainy yucky day.
I’m in New York for a week – part vacation, part work. The part vacation seems to be non stop rain, but that won’t ruin the magic of it, plus the joy of meeting my best friend who lives on the west coast. I’m wearing Hermessensce Vanille Galante which is so comforting.
Even with the rain – we managed to shop and try a ton of perfumes.
I have now a bottle of CdG Sugi – which is terrific, thank you for the recommendation Robin! and my friend got a bottle of Nomad tea, following a visit to Dover Street Market . Plus I got to try ALL the incense series and the sherbet ones. Sherbet one I find a bit meh, but incense is amazing overall, glad I could try all.
I wanted to try the Kerosene line too and a Lab on Fire, which I can’t seem to find in Montreal but we’ll just have to see how easy they are to find here. I did try a nice Jo Malone in Sephora (oak and hazelnut) which would be perfect for the looong cold days ahead.
Have you been to Barney’s? They have A Lab on Fire. Plus so many other wonderful things to try!????
I have not, thank you for the tip!
There are so many great perfume sniffing spots in NYC! Bergdorf’s is not far from Barney’s. Saks has a new beauty floor, and then there’s Aedes, MiN, and Osswald’s. So many and so little time!????
Thank you, noting them down!
They did have Lab on fire – great tip. unfortunately they didn’t have What we do in Paris is secret, but they did have a few nice ones . Plus – Arquiste and Anima dulcis. Yay NY.
My morning dithering over my SOTM was soon answered by the arrival of one of the Sylvaine Delacourte sets I ordered (fast shipping from France, I might add. I swear it took less than a week.)
I’m in Helicriss, which seems lovely – it has a green note that reminds me of the deep drydown of VCA Gardenia Petale. However, last night’s bedtime perfume seems to still be quite present so I’m smelling the Delacourte entirely on its own.
Last night’s perfume, by the way, was Micallef Vanille Orient. I haven’t compared side-by-side, but first (and second) impression is that it smells an awful lot like Guerlain SDV. I was going to suggest it as an easier-to-find and cheaper alternative to the Guerlain. But a quick google search tells me it’s neither 🙁 Pfft.
It’s so funny how different our noses and skin are. On me Helicriss was all about the immortelle (which I like) and cumin (which I am on the fence about). But of the set that and Florentina (ahh that almond note!!!) were my favorite. I am interested in what you have to say about Florentina because I know you are an almond nutter too. Florentina read very sweet on my skin. It also had a L’Heure Bleu vibe but more modern and subdued to me.
I’d actually tried Florentina already, thanks to one of our generous ranks. It’s delightful, and I loved the almond note, too. It read as very pastel to me – like a bowlful of Jordan almonds.
Have you tried Reminiscence Musc, btw? I bought a decant of it, found myself tearing through it at a rapid rate, and realized I had fallen for the almond pastry note that runs through it. It’s otherwise very much a skin scent, but pretty – and (the older) bottles go for a song.
Yes, I see that they sell for a song!!! Will check it out…thanks for the rec!
I ordered one of those sets too and love that it will be arriving from Paris! So glam 🙂 I think we have similar olfactory leanings from what I can gather from your comments
Still going in Lounging Around (DSH custom scent version B) which I wore to my birthday dinner in Denver at a restaurant called Julep (extremely fresh, extremely delicious Southern food). My husband thought my scent last night was extremely strong which it is, seeing as how this extrait is 50-60% fragrance according to Dawn.
I read about your DSH experience on my day off. Thanks for sharing that with everyone. It went on my bucket list for sure! Happy (belated) birthday–what a great treat!!
Happy belated birthday! I also read about your bespoke perfume experience over the weekend. It sounds absolutely wonderful from start to finish.
SOTD is Iris Nazarena which I think of as a Fall scent. I also think if it as a grey, rainy day scent so perfect for today. I don’t mind the temp drop we’re having (62F), but endless rain bums me out. Monday blues…
I imagine that Iris Nazerena is perfect in autumn, I’ve only tried it once, but it was love at first sniff, u smell wonderful!
Thank you! It is good stuff, isn’t it? I’m rationing out the last of my decant.
I also associate Iris Nazarena with rainy days 🙂 It makes me look forward to clouds/rain. Unfortunately, we don’t get much of that in the Bay Area…
Wish I could send some rain your way. I would mind it less if I didn’t have to be out and about in it. But IN is definitely a silver lining!
I am in No. 19 because it’s Monday and my flight home didn’t arrive until midnight last night. I needed something to make me feel like a bada** who doesn’t need sleep. Happy Monday, friends.
Oh and I love Colin Firth sooooo much!
Bada** or not, hope you get good makeup sleep tonight!
Still wet and gray here and still not having the greatest morning. One of my dogs got their food today while the puppy’s food has been delayed until Wednesday. So, I need to go to the pet store and get a small bag. I raised a little bit of a stink with Amazon with that and got a $10 gift card to my Amazon account. But the good thing is that I cancelled an order from another company so I can get a little bag of dog food and a couple groceries. Since I haven’t taken a shower yet, I am in Theorema and will be switching to Shalimar. I have a bottle of extrait from the 1950’s and was thinking of opening that.
Go for it, those precious bottles of extraits won’t last forever. Use and enjoy!
1950s Shalimar Extrait?!!!
*swoon*
I hope it’s utterly glorious.
Yes, open up the extrait (if you haven’t already); I have a bottle as well, It is fabulous!
I had a crazy day, many things went wrong so I blasted myself with some vintage Shalimar EDT tonight to help erase the day.
Eau de Guerlain currently.
Has anyone tried 34 Blvd St Germain edp? Thoughts? Can’t wait to sniff it!
You smell great Laura!
Thank you ????
I’m in Naomi Goodsir Iris Cendre today. Like Madtowngirl, I’m a huge fan of amber and vanilla but a kind NSTer introduced me to the beauty that is iris and it’s become one of my favorites now too. We’ll be hitting 94F here today, so fall isn’t even in sight yet. Have a wonderful smelling day everyone!
I am in Parfum des Merveilles for a rainy, chilly morning. It’s the first time wearing it this year, it’s absolutely beautiful in my opinion. I will spend the whole day trying to discreetly sniff my wrist as I tuck my hair behind my ear 🙂
Nice!
It seems like every magnolia in town has suddenly burst into full bloom. The botanic gardens has several varieties, all spectacular at the moment and beautifully scented. Wearing La Vierge de Fer for a chilly spring morning…still not much heat in our days with highs of around 10C and La Vierge is a good match.
Lucky you! I love when the magnolias bloom here. You smell lovely.
Me three (on the magnolia).
SOTD = Maitre Parfumeur Etsy Gantier Iris Bleu Gris
I’m squirreling points for Friday by spelling out the full name of this perfume house (once). MPG doesn’t get mentioned much in these here parts! Anyway, I was originally going to wear Ambre Precieux, but Ibecause the jeweled cap and red body looked the same, I thought I picked up AP. But eh, no big deal because this is one gorgeous powdery Iris! I amped it up by layering it with Vanille 44. I got my vintage bottle of Iris Bleu Gris as a Basenotes end of split partial bottle. If you prefer partial bottles rather than a decant, it doesn’t hurt to ask the splitter if you can keep the bottle without having to buy more than half of the volume; it is usually better to wait until the split has 40 to 60% of the split portions reserved before asking.
In other news, an unknown unauthorized person used my credit card to purchase over $2,000 worth of audio equipment. Silly credit card company let the charge go through BEFORE asking if it was legit. This was the same company who declined a $700 charge because I used it 3x within a 2 hour period in NYC and then told me it was because I used it outside of my home zip code. I’m still scratching my head over this.
Mini review of Le Labo Mousse de Chene (and yes, I’m momm to a FB) — soapy green spicy and warm. I was trying to put my finger on which perfume the dry down reminded me of and it came to me — the Vetiver in Jo Loves Pomelo!
Mini review of Le Labo Baie Rose: skanky peppery Rose (but YMMV – elisap had a different experience)
If you like to read some more mini reviews for a different brand, please visit Undina’s blog. She and I did a joint post!
Oh my goodness, what a rubbish company! that’s so stressful, hope it’s all resolved, and you’re not out of pocket!
Iris Gris sounds lovely, my ears always Prick up when I hear iris!
Mousse de Chine sounds lovely, my new Vetiver Love is Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent, which you’re description makes me think of.
I won’t have to pay out of pocket. The worry is – What else? Was it just mine that was compromised and therefore, which other cards or was it systemic across a large swath of card holders of the same company?
Christos of Scent of Memory wrote a great review of the then current (2011) formulation:
https://memoryofscent.com/2011/08/05/colours-of-iris-part-2-iris-bleu-gris-the-dirty-green-iris/
That’s awful about your credit card, I’m really sorry that happened to you. Were other cards compromised too? I like the sound of your perfume. I think I do better with powdery irises, than the carroty ones.
Thanks lillyjo. As far as I know, no other cards were compromised but I will check for sure.
This is a nice iris where the powder feels just slightly less heavy than the one in Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue but has enough character to be noticed.
My husband’s credit card information was stolen somehow and was used to buy gas and at “Canada Computer” to buy $2200 worth of goods, 22 days after he died. I had an epic conversation with the credit card company. They said they could not deal with me but needed to speak with the primary card holder. I had already explained twice that my husband had passed away. I told them I would like very much to expedite that but unfortunately could not arrange it. I also made the point that he had not bought gas or computers 22 days after he died. The woman answered, “Well, it might not have been computers.” The only thing that kept me going was the fact that my husband would have thought it absolutely hilarious.
OMG! The appalling lack of understanding there is just beyond belief. I am sorry you had to deal with that nonsense while grieving.
How callous! Reminds me of the time I received a marketing call from my insurance company about enrolling in a mother’s group soon after I had miscarried.
I got a call from my mother’s doctor’s office reminding her of her appointment months after she had passed away.
I think I can beat that: shortly after my partner passed away I was contacted and told that if I paid the outstanding debit it would improve her credit rating. I hung up.
That is indeed appallingly bad customer service. A new low!
Oh my, that was terrible! The CSR was probably multitasking.
Don’t know if you read my account of my custom perfume experience in the weekend poll but it’s possible you think I have unicorn skin because it is apparently pretty close to neutral. Dawn says it’s slightly Woody and a pinch sweet but most things will smell pretty true on me
So you do have unicorn skin! I read through the comments randomly, then it got too late to comment!
Your experience sounds so fabulous. And carnations are such an underutilized material -your bespoke perfume must be spectacular..
Booooo about your credit card!
I know, right? At least it was caught within a short time. I hope they were able to get to the company to stop shipment!
What a PITA about the credit card! Hope it is all resolved quickly. The fraud prevention software some of these companies use is crazy.
You would think that I have enough history with this card that the odd pattern would have resulted in a decline!
Eek on the full name misspelling! That was “spell check” for sure!
So sorry to hear about your credit card woes! That is a total PITA.
I have been enjoying my new bottle of Dzing! over the last few days, my full bottle list is relatively short now, and this one has been near the top for a long time, it’s such a gorgeous complex leather, lighthearted and fun with a gorgeous benzoin dry down, l notice something new every time I wear it.
As contrary as this sounds, I would much rather wear something that smells the same from beginning to end.
Wow, is that what he looked like as a youth?! He’s never been my thing, but I see the nice-guy appeal.
I smell pretty gorgeous in TF Santal Blush. I’ll be sad when I finish this decant, which was sent to me by a kind NSTer. I’m not terribly inclined to buy a TF bottle, but I might have to shell out for a decant.
Happy swapmeet, dear NST friends 🙂 I love swapmeet.
He was in his early 20s there, I think.
I’m wearing Safran Troublant this morning, as I do battle with Comcast who has raised my rate more than 20% in the latest bill. I also have to call about changing my health insurance and restoring a bank password I forgot they changed when they switched software. Oh, and a cousin (who believes we are very close, and we’re not) needs a call because I’m feeling guilty about not calling him back when he called two months ago. I find that cramming unpleasant tasks into one day is better than spreading them out. Mondays…
I’m doing the same thing!! Called for a dentist appointment, new hot water heater, and car insurance quotes!!!! Rainy days and Mondays…..
Hope your unpleasant tasks went by okay….
I agree, get all the nastiness over at once and enjoy the rest of your free time!
Blech. Hope it is all over now.
Hopefully, everything got resolved quickly and your cousin leaves you alone.
I am feeling a little guilty myself as a fellow traveler sent an invitation to a party she hosted over the summer, I think, but U never RSVPd!
Bleah on the Monday-ness of it all!
Blissfully cool the last couple days and cloudy. Wearing Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser for the first time this season; my husband is smoking a lot of stuff* in the back yard smoker so I fit right in.
*He does this periodically, gets a huge package of pork shoulder, ribs, chicken etc and smokes it all for what I call a “TME”, a total meat experience. No potato salad necessary.
Ummagumma smells like smoked ham hocks to me. In a good way.
Ahh, you smell great in Voluptes, Robin. It is a great contender for a fall top 10, but I can’t wear perfumes with a prominent tobacco note to work because my coworker is sensitive to things that smell like cigars.
Certainly in my top 10 for fall is Cuir d’Ange, my SOTD. It *might* be my favorite leather scent. I sprayed generously, but I think I’m flying under the radar because I’m wearing a long sleeved button up blouse that is buttoned pretty high up.
It really does not smell like cigars to me, but I’m probably not sensitive about it. Maybe I will wear Cuir d’Ange tomorrow…
Sorry, should have put “cigars” in quotes because that’s what she says when she wrinkles her nose at tobacco perfumes I’ve worn. “Smells like cigars,” she said. It doesn’t smell like cigars to me either.
Wearing Pinrose Pillowtalk Poet in attempt to softly sledgehammer through Ambroxan anosmia. Initial thoughts from recent sample were, “Lovely but lasts all of 10mins!” Next morning, awoke to such a gorgeous musky, spicy-clean scent on my arm. That perfume peek-a-boo game infuriates me, so giving exposure therapy a go and hoping for the best.
Oh, interesting! And good luck.
Thank you, Robin! 🙂
Not sure what to wear today when my only travel will be to take recycling out the curb….need some smoke or incense. Maybe LADDM or Incense Extreme….maybe Field Notes from Paris, because I wish I was there.
Thumbs up for incense scents!
Oscar de la Renta Live in Love!
Aaaaaand Thunk.
Progress is good. The fast and the furious now with thunking beloved but “be gone already!!” bottles!
Winter made a snappy return last night and apparently until Wednesday.
Have a great week you gorgeous smelling people!!
X
Thunk????????????????
Hope winter doesn’t stick around too long!
Good progress my friend! Keep going!
I have not forgotten about answering back.
Yay for your THUNK and for your short-lived pink hair!
Monday – work – rain. Trouble comes in threes…
SOTD is 4160 Tuesdays Captured by Candlelight. I’m absolutely besotted with this stuff. I had no idea I wanted to smell like a snuffed candle, but apparently I do.
Hope you make it through Monday okay.
Thanks; you, too! You must be exhausted after that late flight…
Lots and lots of iced coffee and No. 19 has helped. 😉
Ugh, hope that your Monday had some redeeming features!
I’m another member of the “Monday — PHOOEY!” club. The past 3 days have pretty much been total bummers. A lot of it has to do with my mom telling me that she can no longer drive a car. And that she needs to go into assisted living. Still processing that. The gloomy weather isn’t helping my mood, either.
SOTD = back to playing in the sample stash with Tauer PHI. No roses for me with this. Not quite sure what I smell, but it would be great on a guy.
Oh, I feel for you!!! It’s so hard to see our parents change…
Yeah. The past 5 years or so have been especially rough in that regard.
Not an easy situation. I hope that at the end everything comes up fine!
Thanks, pl67. Things are complicated by the fact that she and I live in different time zones.
At least she’s lucid about her needs, so many friends have had to fight with their parents to stop driving or move into assisted living. But it’s hard to see our parents decline. My mom has Parkinson’s and told me she’s started having falls.
Yes, it was an all out battle to get my mother to stop driving. It was hard on everyone. I feel for you and Jalapeno. I know how tough it is.
Thanks for understanding. It does help!
Not sure that my mom gave up the keys voluntarily. She said that her doctor told her she couldn’t drive anymore. She is still very upset about that.
That’s rough jalapeno. I’m sorry.
Thanks lillyjo.
I sympathize Jalapeno. I’m dealing with the same type of issues. So sorry about your mom.
Thanks Petunia. Two of my friends are also in the same boat. I hope that you are getting the support that you and your parent(s) need.
Oh no, I too sympathize. I’m flying up to Michigan tomorrow to visit my mom. We told her to stop driving in May and my brother recently got her moved into a senior living apartment. When we talk, she says, “I don’t know where I am or why I’m here.” It’s so sad. Tomorrow is her birthday and I’m taking her one of my cats! Wish us luck! I recommend this book: The 36-hour Day: A Family Guide to Caring for People who have Alzheimer’s Disease, Related Dementias, and Memory Loss.
Good luck with your visit to your mom! And thanks for the book recommendation.
Oh, dear. That’s so challenging, especially if you don’t live near each other. I do hope she adjusts to this next phase. Hugs to you!
My brother lives about an hour away from her, so that’s not too bad. One of my cousins can also help on occasion. I’m glad that she isn’t entirely alone out there.
And thanks for the hugs! Very much appreciated from everyone.
Adding more hugs Jalapeno, that is rough. I wish my mom would stop driving but that is going to be a long battle.
I won’t see hide nor hair of fall for another month, so SOTD is Chanel Bel Respiro.
Perfect scent for a long summer!
I took advantage of the cold rainy day to wear Lyric. It was a great way to start my week.
Lyric is gorgeous in cool wet weather. ????
Thanks dear!
Posting late. At first glance I thought the picture up top was either Michael j Fox or Anthony Michael Hall. This might be because I watched both sixteen candles and the great The Breakfast Club recently. Or because I keep forgetting what century this is. Sotd was and still is Sensual Orchid. I resprayed at lunch.
Ha! I’m glad to know that I’m not the only person who saw something that reminded me of “The Breakfast Club” in that photo!
