PSA: the splitmeet is still open! Meantime, it's Tuesday and it's Wear Something Gaudy Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm still in iris, with Byredo 1996. For my tea, I'm testing a sample of Upton Organic English Breakfast blend.
Reminder: 10/20 will be Reeking Havoc Friday...in honor of Holly (who is frequently reeking havoc), wear as many perfume samples at once as you can stand. Suggested by FearsMice.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the July teapot by Andrew Bannecker was a special edition for Crate & Barrel's 50th anniversary in 2012, and is no longer for sale.
Reeking havoc in my own way today.
I am not comfortable with wearing multiple samples at work, but I am rocking vintage Jolie Madam. Leather and violets Baby !!!!!
Oh man, I love Jolie Madame.
One my favorites. You smell gorgeous!
It’s mt day off, so I can reek. I have never spent much time testing Lutens so I have Fleurs d’oranger on one arm and Daim Blond on the other. The reek is mostly one-sided!!
I like DB a lot but find it so loud I rarely wear it. It was almost culled in the last freebie meet but I decided to hang onto it for a bit since it’s an older bottle.
Interesting… I have only new dabber samples and the DB is pretty mild; the FdO is the reeker on my skin!
Mine, too! FdO was actually a scrubber for me. Still a bit traumatized.
We half-twins as I am wearing Fleurs d’Oranger as my SOTD. My bottle (which is the pre-reformulated version) has a only a tiny bit left in it, but I do have a back-up bottle of the same vintage.
Reeking Vanille : PdN Vanille Tonka and AG Vanille Exquise
Tea Sakura 2000
PSA
I know all the NYers on NST know that Clydes is closing. Clydes is an Apothecary and Pharmacy that has been in the city for over 50 years. I just went by there the last 2 days and everything is 40% off. They have a nice selection of perfume and makeup. I passed on the perfume but bought some skincare, a lipstick, and somethings for the toddlers. I am very sad to see it go! I try very hard to support local/mom and pop independent pharmacies, since they offer very unique products. This is huge loss!
Oh, I am not a NYer so I did not know. How sad, so few real apothecaries left.
It is hard to lose those special places. They have a personal touch and connection with their customers/friends, and that’s hard to find these days.
I need to dig out the Vanille Exquise you sent me a couple of months ago. What fun, we inadvertently did a vanilla swap!
It’s so sad. I stopped by yesterday. Got a couple lipsticks and other doodads. They had some bottles of Guerlain French Kiss, by the way…for those of you interested in a nice discount in that scent.
Sorry to hear it’s closing. 🙁
Vanille Exquise was my first FB niche purchase when I first went down the rabbit hole. Ordering perfume online seemed quite exotic to me at the time!
Love Vanille Exquise!!!
SOTD is OJ Woman. The rain is supposed to start gently today and build toward RAIN later this week, and the hemlock in Woman is at the forefront this morning – perhaps because of higher humidity? Whatever the reason, it’s very nice.
You smell so good!
Woman has this beautiful background hum I adore
Yes! You’ve summed up its beauty perfectly. 🙂
I’m in Le Labo Vanille 44. So so so glad for the cooler weather here finally, so I can spritz away and happily smell myself ! 🙂
I’m off to an apple house (young one school outing) – hmm, apples and vanilla I can dig that for fall!!
Enjoy!
We are vanilla twins
Indeed we are – no shame in that game!!
One of my favorite vanillas- you smell great!
you smell wonderful.
That used to be one of my favorite fall school outings — going to the orchard and apple sorting house 🙂
I really like that teapot. The colors… the fox… I bet my sister would like that teapot, too. Shame it was LE.
So it finally (FINALLY!) got chilly enough yesterday to feel like fall, and I am so happy. SOTD is darling SSS Tabac Aurea.
You smell absolutely wonderful and congrats on some cool temps finally!
Thanks!
Tabac Aurea is perfect for fall. I need to get mine out soon! We’ve had such hot weather for so many weeks now that I’m catching up on my summer fragrances!
It’s a great teapot — they did 12 LE ones that year, this was my favorite.
In Cheyenne WY today. I dug out my perfume goody box and lavishly spritzed PHI (2 spritzes actually, but that will last about 24 hours!) because it’s clear, cool (some would say cold), and breezy. Bundeled up and will take T-Rex to a local dog park to run before hitting the road again. Being cooped up has been a bit hard on her but I have decided to stop where there are dog parks so she can run herself into the ground, play, and just be an off leash dog for an hour or two each day.
Headed to the Little Bighorn National Monument today and tomorrow and then who knows?
Apropos of nothing, all the way through SC, TN, AR, and NC I saw only two kinds of leaves: green and dead. No colors at all! Didn’t actually notice any changes until central/western Nebraska. So weird!
Happy Teapot Tuesday. Pretty sure I will be drinking my share of hot tea today????
It’s been too hot in the upper south for good fall color. 🙁 My scarlet maples are JUST beginning to turn, and then two days after turning red the leaves just go brown and fall off.
We got lucky with fall color, but our leaves were all messed up this year b/c it was so cold in Aug and then hot in Sept. We just peaked last week. Very weird. I love Wyoming! I always tell my family that I’d live in Cheyenne or Laramie – it’s so beautiful out there.
We don’t have our usual array of colors here either, although perhaps they’ll just be late. Have never been to Little Bighorn, wish I was with you!
I’ve been to Little Bighorn, many years ago. I remember it being one of the eeriest places I have ever visited.
Wearing Hiram Green Arbole Arbole. This perfume is an absolute love for me. I wish I could spray lavishly and reek the most, but my travel spray is about less than half and I am terrified that it will be coming to an end soon. It is on my full bottle list to get it “yesterday”, but I have to wait for next year
🙁 considering the price and much I have spent already this year on perfumes. I guess in the worst case I will get another travel size. In the meantime I am enjoying it a lot!
Worth conserving, then! They really aren’t cheap.
I’m enjoying your travel journal. It’s the time of year that you could run into a lot more than colored leaves! Is T-Rex familiar with snow?
This was meant for Deva. Sorry for the intrusion.
Yes, have been thinking about snow and driving route, etc. Just ran into someone at the dog park (who coincidently had a lovely Pitt/Husky mix that really hit it off with T-Rex! She’s exhausted! Just in time to drive????) who said that last week they got FIVE INCHES HERE!! Yowza! Worst case scenario, we just hole up for a few day if it gets bad. I had to boondock in a Walmart parking lot in Kansas because a wicked Dorothy-like storm rolled in. The WIND!!! ????
Yeah, the wind. It makes you wonder at the usefulness of a pony tail or braid for hair-do. Mountain snow in the west is nothing to mess with. Have fun & be safe!
Passed through and spent the night in Laramie a few years ago. Talk about windy!! We went through fine, but two days after us the highway shut down due to blizzard. (Late April)
Yesterday I wore 57 for the first time in months. I sprayed more at bedtime, and I’m going to repeat today. Mmm.
Is this Arquiste for J Crew? I just disobeyed my own rule of no blind buys and ordered a rollerball unsniffed. It sounds like it will be right up my alley.
Yes, sorry I omitted the brand. Hope you love it!
Oh, thanks for the reminder. Time to pull that one out.
La Pausa over Les Exclusifs body creme (applied on my neck). This creme is supposed to be a perfect base for each and every Les Exclusifs perfume
I applied it at 10:00 a.m. and now it’s 17:00. I can still smell this unmistakable Chanel base on me, but I’m not sure if it’s prettier than just La Pausa alone.
And I perfume-sinned today.
For a long time I’ve been wanting some really extravagant overly feminine bottle in my perfume wardrobe (Chanels and Hermeses are elegant but lack the required levels of sexy femininity I suddenly crave)
And I remembered that I really loved the original bottle of Organza that my mother used to wear in the 90s, but found the juice to be too calm for a femme fatale beast trying to escape this timid exterior 😀 So…
fuelled by Robin’s positive review and a mention in ” 5 perfume: wood pudding scents” of Organza Indecence
I ordered 30 ml of the beautiful bottled staff unsniffed 😀
If I don’t like it I’ll pass it to my mom, or just look at the bottle 🙂
This autumn is rough on me perfume wise. I have no self control at all.
Hey, you made an educated guess blind buy. That’s never a sin in my book. ????
I hope you enjoy it!
I have one of those older Organza bottles – it’s only for 1 oz, so it’s just perfectly pretty. I think the most fab bottle I own is the original MPG Secrete Datura that has frosted nymphs on it. But it’s hiding in my drawer.
I totally identify!
Fingers crossed, hope it works for you!
Good morning Y’all!
Played a little Rollerball Roulette this morning (I was running late), and randomly picked Victoria Secret Very Sexy Now. Not to be confused with Very Sexy Yesterday, Tomorrow, or Later Today….Very Sexy NOW! LOL
It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but it’s perfectly wearable and pretty….
Ha! That gave me a laugh!
😀
I’m in a spritz of Amber Flush and it’s off to the chiropractor.
Plotting how I will later on reek some havoc.
Have a lovely day, everyone! ????
Good morning! Wearing generous spritzs of Cire Trudon Bruma. For a perfume that doesn’t feel opulent, it has surprisingly many facets. Right now I am enjoying a clean peppery phase in its drydown. If anyone’s interested, I am offering 10ml decants in the splitmeet 😉
That teapot is adorable! It would make a lovely pot for something like hot cider too.
Looking forward to trying this one!
I have a full bottle of Bruma and I really love it.
I’m wearing Mechant Loup for the first time, and it’s skewing a little too masculine for my taste. I was hoping to get more nuts and honey, and instead I’m getting a lot of licorice. Licorice is one of my least favorite notes, behind vanilla and fig. This decant is going into my giveaway pile.
Money saved
Ooh, I love that one. This makes me think I should dig it out and wear it today. Thanks! I don’t have anything on yet (perfume-wise) since when I first woke up my allergies were so bad I couldn’t smell a thing. Fortunately my head is clearing now. I don’t like licorice but don’t remember noticing it in there before. Hmmm.
Reeking a little havoc with Vilhelm’s Morning Chess on one wrist, and Smoke Show on the other. Smoke Show is a bit much for me, glad I just dabbed.
I thought the same about Smoke Show!
Half twin! I’m wearing Morning Chess.
SotD = Assam of India + a few swipes of Arz el-Rab and Oud wa Vanillia. Not exactly reeking havoc, but it makes a good start.
My something gaudy: a travel charm bracelet, two gold + red bangles from India, and a paisley print blouse in shades of pink and lavender.
Now I’m off to learn more about Diwali with 90 Kindergarten students. Looking forward to music, dance, and fun.
That sounds wonderful. Can I leave work and join you?
Yes! I wish you could have been there. It was a delightful Diwali celebration.
Diwali with 90 Kindies sounds like a blast. I stopped in to do the Hokey Pokey with them a couple of weeks ago and it vastly improved my day.
The Diwali activity was great fun. Kinders always make me smile.
Thanks for sharing that story. It made me smile thinking about how much fun the kids must have had.
Wearing Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue. Haven’t worn it in a long time so nice to pull it out again. It’s both cool and cozy!
very nice!
Thanks!
Century 21 use to sell this but no more.
I think I’ll be looking on ebay for a bottle. This is the only one I like, probably because of the vanilla.
Some of the discount sites still have it.
It pops up on zullily every so often.
I love that one, thanks to you! You smell wonderful!
Haha! Glad you like it????
You smell wonderful!
Muchas gracias!
Uh oh, if ‘some of the discount sites still have it’, maybe I need to get on the stick. I have a small decant of this and I like it a lot.
And you smell great, of course!
It’s not extinct, yet. But I imagine it might be in a couple of years.
Yum, might have to wear that tomorrow.
New purchase I’m wearing today: Amour de Cacao, and feeling very much like a bar of chocolate. 🙂
Saw some puffers on folks this morning. Really? Puffer weather already? I’m not there, still hoping for some warm weather, Indian Summer, days.
I wore my puffer yesterday because it was 7 degrees when I left home. It is supposed to make it to 15 today so I wore a leather jacket. Amour de Cacao sounds yummy.
I’m sorry I don’t remember, but where are you that it is 7 degrees already? That really stinks.
I could’ve worn my down winter coat this morning. I was underdressed and uncomfortably cold.
I woke up extremely cranky and out of sorts, and it still hasn’t improved. I didn’t want to wear any of my bottled perfumes today for whatever reason, but then my brain demanded that I revisit the Morning Chess I sampled last weekend. Today (20 degrees cooler outside) it smells a lot like Oliver Peoples with added camphor, and I am very happy with my decision.
Is there a cure for general crankiness that anyone can share? I’m usually an extremely happy person, but the last two weeks have just made me seethe. Yoga and tea have helped, but I think I need some bigger tools.
Lots of naps, anywhere and anytime you can get them.
I hope you mood improves soon. I agree with AnnS. Rest and sleep help a big time. Cheer up!
I’ve been going to a weekly meditation for the past few months, complete with dharma talk, and just sitting with whatever feelings without resistance or criticism is a useful tool. Not always easy however… The crankiness will eventually go just as it came.
I use a guided meditation app that I find helps tremendously in getting me down off the hamster wheel of the negative parts of daily life and into a much calmer, less harried state.
What’s it called? I’ve been looking for one that isn’t too new agey.
It’s fairly new-agey, but her voice is so soothing that I just let it wash over me. Relax and Rest Meditations from Meditation Oasis.
I hope that the cranky leaves sooner rather than later. With my bad moods, I’ve discovered that if I try to make them go away, they just dig in their heels and refuse to leave. Rolling with it works the best for me.
We’re having that great kind of frosty in the morning, hot in the afternoon fall weather. I am wearing my absolute favorite Bottega Veneta because I just wanted something really lovely but with a soft landing today. Too much work stress!
That teapot is so cuuuute! Too bad it was LE.
I’m wearing Queen today.
You smell great!
In the spirit of Reeking Havoc, I’m gonna proceed to spontaneously gather my choices later. I may play Mad Scientist, or buckle down to explore the sets I have, or maybe match a couple of things to compliment the pho I plan to cook later. Does anyone else scent themselves according to what they’re cooking?
I initially started my project back in March when I realized that I would never have the time nor the inclination to get all my samples and decants into any order and explore them all thoughtfully in my usual fashion. Back then, I would sample a dab or spritz of one thing at a time, and The Sample Sea was threatening to become a tsunami. I carried on sampling at least four per day through September, and sampled over 600 different perfumes eek! I knew I had a lot, and I think my awareness of the sheer volume had prevented me from ever starting, coupled with facing having spent so much money I really couldn’t afford and my lack of insight into my own psyche that led me to amass so much stuff. So I learned how to be more compassionate towards myself and others for our various foibles, and how to not focus on regret, and how to pay attention to what I’m seeking when I want to buy perfume or anything else for that matter.
Y’all weren’t expecting me to get serious, were you? So I’ll tell you something funny, which was that there I was all smug and satisfied and nearing the end of my sampling journey when lo and behold, I met with our fellow perfumista and friend Steve from The Scented Hound. He was heading for retirement in Mexico on August 1st, and he had something he wanted to share with me. Can you guess? EYUP, he presented me with a large tote bag, plus a large shopping bag, and then a large tool kit all brimming with bottles, samples and decants. So I guess just like we come to learn in life, the moment when you’re done never arrives and it’s the journey that counts and not the destination.
And I still have a wishlist. 😀
Wow, u lucky thing! Looking forward to hearing about them soon!
I *am* very lucky and this community has brought me so much that restores my faith in humanity! I’ll report back for sure. 🙂
What a wonderful present! Enjoy them and please share your thoughts about your new fumes. The journey seems to be long and rewarding!
I know, it was quite stunning to receive the largesse! I am very lucky because my best friend is also one of us and I can pass things on to her.
I love this! Thank you for sharing.
🙂
Beautiful post. ♥️
🙂
Haha great story!
🙂
🙂
That’s a wonderful story, and really special that he shared his perfume history with you. ????
Yes, such a lovely gesture and I have felt a special responsibility as I know it was difficult for him to leave so much behind.
What a thoughtful reflection. Thanks ❤
🙂
Yay!!!
Carry on, then. 😀
Oh hello dear Fears Mice! I see what you did there …
Hello there! Great to hear from you. And what a twist to your saga of The Sample Sea!
Thank you! I keep thinking that I will settle down and yet messy old life intervenes …
“It’s the journey that counts and not the destination”….love that…and how sweet smelling is your journey 🙂
Wearing Illuminated Perfume’s Vespertina – complex and sensual.
So pretty!
I’m wearing Hermes Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate and drinking a cup of Twinings Buttermint tea.
Vanilla and mint — does it taste like ice cream?
I am testing Amouage Epic man for the second day in a row. It’s not very Epic to my nose so far. I remember being underwhelmed with Lyric man. I should have a review up in the next day or two.
House twins today!
Robin, you smell wonderful!
I’m trying Masque Milano Mandala today.
What do you think? Kafka was somewhat disappointed …
I don’t have any issues with aromachemicals, like Kafka does. I actually got the sample because when I smelled it I couldn’t decide whether I would like it or not on skin. I think it’s nice, it doesn’t remind me of other perfumes I’ve smelled even though I have smelled quite a few perfumes in this category. (which I find at this point is rare for me) The lightness of this sits in a nice juxtaposition to the actual notes. So if the Amber Xtreme doesn’t bother you, you can wear it in hotter weather. It’s fall here in SoCal…so it was 90 degrees today and it was just fine, not too suffocating or strong.
Yes, I’m also curious what you think of it. I love Masque Milano’s Tango, L’Attesa and Romanza but was a bit disconcerted by what I read about Times Square, and the notes for Mandala indicate it might not be for me. But! I’m stuck on the name and my prior enthusiasm for the house.
Times Square I didn’t bother with. I smelled it and was very disappointed–the lovely scent bar SAs didn’t think it was good either.
Thank you – from the reviews I’ve read Times Square sounds like something created to surprise and confront rather than surprise and entice. I’m looking forward to your thoughts about Mandala if you’re inspired to share them at some point…
I’m going through some serious stomachache today. I’ve been having stomach problems for a month or two but it never got as bad as today. I need to go see a specialist as soon as possible.
From positive news, today is still just as lovely as yesterday.
I’m in VC&A Bois d’Iris. Hat tip to Robin for being the inspiration to wear it today.
Feel better soon Lucasai. You smell great!
thank you
Definitely get yourself to that specialist! I hope you feel better soon.
I will. Going to check tomorrow when I can have an appointment.
Feel better!!
Fingers crossed
Please see a doctor! and I hope it’s nothing serious
Thanks for worrying about me
Definitely the right move on getting to a doctor! I hope all checks out ok.
Oh no – I hope you can get in to see the dr asap and that all will be well.
Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hopefully, it isn’t anything serious.
Iris Fauve applied with a heavy hand… ????
What a gracious sotd.
I can smell it here… wonderful!
We smell ‘irispiring”
Indeed, we do!
Safran Troublant. At our school the students meditate after they come in from playing after lunch. Today my ST was helping me reach a higher plane.
That’s awesome that they do that!
All kids should meditate 🙂
Wreaking havoc in Commodity again. Moss on the left arm, Wool on the right, and Tea on my neck. I like the Wool quite a bit. It’s warm and cozy. Moss is nice too. The Tea is not very tea-like to me and not a winner. Overall I definitely connect more with their Black collection rather than their White.
Oh I love the Wool too!!! That arm smells yummy! I have more of their Black line as well – and if it ever gets too heavy I just layer it with the Gold and all is well 🙂
SOTD is L’Air Du Desert. Love it on cold days. Finally, the temps dropped beliw 60s here and so nice to pull out my heavy hitters!
Nice! I think I’ll do Au Coeuer du Desert tonight. Thanks for reminding me I have some ????
Happy to help. It’s nice to pull out old favorites!
Not reeking havoc in Tans des Bras. I do not think I have it in me to try and reek havoc with fragrances at work 🙂
You smell great.
Woke up ill today. I’m hoping I just need some rest. I should have not worn any perfume, but I’m dumb sometimes. I decided to spray Commodity Mimosa, and immediately regreted it. Luckily, it faded in a few hours.
Feel better! It’s amazing what a few extra hours of sleep can do!
Feel better soon.
Hope you’re feeling better soon, lillyjo.
Take care Lillyjo!
I hope you get some rest and feel better!
Thanks everyone. Two more hours of work, then hopefully a restful night.
Hope you feel better!
Oh no! I hope that you are feeling better soon! There seems to be some kind of bug going around…
No time to read yet but going big today with Portrait or a Lady.
You smell incredible.
It is a good thing that I believe Donatella views perfume purchases bought on vacation as “souvenirs” and not worthy of confession, because Honolulu is close to perfume heaven. Chanel, Hermes, Prada, and Cartier are across the street, Saks is half a block away, Bloomingdales and NM are a few blocks away, there is a Penhaligon’s, Lush, Sephora, L’Occitane, and MAC next door. If only Barney’s were here! I think I might nip into Chanel for a sniff of the 22 extrait, I’ve only smelled the edt. This morning I am wearing Olympic Orchids Siam Proun, an aromatic amber, from my sample set.
My bags were filled with Kona coffe and Kukui oil when I was going back home from Honolulu 🙂
And mine with macadamia nuts (and coffee). Enjoy your trip!
What fun!
SotD is Dryad
We had a red/orange sun here today in The Netherlands. Beautiful!
Explanation http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-41635906
TOMK sent me an amazing photo from Birmingham yesterday. Here in DUS it was just yellowy-grey. I was too busy yesterday to posy so here’s a catch-up:
SOTM: Chanel “Egoiste”
Top: mahogany, mandarin, rosewood and coriander;
Mid: carnation, cinnamon and rose;
Base: leather, sandalwood, vanilla, tobacco and amber.
A good start to the day.
SOTE was Tom Ford “Oud Wood”.
Notes are oud, rosewood, cardamom, sichuan pepper, sandalwood, vetiver, tonka, vanilla and amber.
This one didn’t really impress – not enough heft, or longevity, or feel of quality.
SOTD today is Pafumerie Generale “Felanilla”.
Notes are iris, amber, hay, saffron, vanilla and banana leaf.
It’s fine, the sort of perfume that you can enjoy wearing and not miss when the sample is gone.
I wore Felanilla yesterday, also from a decant. I quite like it and almost bought it at one time. Don’t know why not because I like it each time I wear it.
It is stunning!
I am in the opposite of reeking havoc in the elegant and orderly (some say boring, but not me!) Gris Montaigne. I applied 8 sprays at least and no one would know it.
Gris Montaigne is so pretty. You smell lovely.
I didn’t know some say it’s boring. I think it’s stunning.
SOTD is Alaïa.
Trying to figure out what to choose for Friday so that I can reek havoc yet avoid hurting the people around me.????
I really like Alaia. It’s a great scent.
I think it’s great too. Although I suspect it smells a little spicier and less leathery on me than it’s ‘supposed’ to be, the water-on-hot-stone effect is so fantastic. It was the sample you kindly sent that convinced me I needed it, so thanks again!
It’s a great scent for warm weather, IMO.
Yep! It’s great pretty much year-round, IMO. I personally can’t wear it in the hottest part of the summer, but that’s just me…????
Reeking havoc with garlic today. Had some beautiful Korean food yesterday, but did not realise quite how much of a garlic bomb it was. And my jacket was hanging next to the kitchen and smells like chili stew. Fortunately the office was quiet today! Tried some Acqua di Genova in the hope the lemon would cut the garlic with limited success…….
At least you have delicious memories to accompany the scents.
I can’t reek too much havoc on a work day, but I am comparing two different perfumes composed on a similar theme: Zoologist Hummingbird and Soivohle Honeysuckle Bird. I much prefer Honeysuckle Bird. Hummingbird has a raspy sandalwood/musk combo under the fruity top notes that makes it difficult for me to enjoy. I love the vanillic base with the florals of HB.
I haven’t tried Hummingbird but I have tried Honeysuckle Bird; Such a pretty scent.
I am with you…I much prefer Honeysuckle Bird over Hummingbird as well.
Already logged my SOTD but wanted to comment again about my mail-received a lovely package from Jeffrey Dame with Earth mother samples: perfume, hair oil and body cream. I am amazed at his generosity. I have ordered samples of most of his line and have 2 FB’s but did not expect this surprise! Will let everyone know what I think when I have a chance to try the hair oil and body cream.
Ha! me too! got my surprise package last night….I have ordered 12 bottles over the years but mostly as gifts and the last full bottle I purchased as a gift was probably over a year and half ago so I am also surprised at teh generosity….I tried all three last night and I absolutely love them…the hair oil can actually be used as a perfume oil if one were inclined to do so (I did last night!) Earth Mother is a cuddlefluff scent for me.
Well, it’s not gaudy but it is . . . assertive: Agent Provocateur EDP. If we have a cool fall and chilly winter, it will be hard for me to resist buying a bottle of this one – especially since it’s available for so little at discounters.
Great cold weather scent, and I love that bottle too.
One spritz of Coromondel from a decant. Because someone on another space was talking yesterday about it compared to Fancy Nights. I get the impression men seem to like FN. Never smelled it myself.
I added a split of Seville à L’Aube in the splitmeet if anyone’s interested.
Yay for chilly weather!!
PSA. Seeing Lush is outing up the Christmas stuff on their site already. That pear soap is tempting….
Ha! I saw that. I’ve smelled FN and they’re related in that oriental patchiuli kind of way.
Really warm Wednesday morning here which inspired me to pull out my bottle of Le Jardin sur le Nil for the first time since last summer.
Lucky you! I’m all bundled up.
I just finished season 1 of “Versailles” on Netflix and am in Jo Malone Orange Blossom in honor of Louis IV.
14th, that is. Darn Roman numerals! 🙂
I did not make it all the way through, but love those costumes!
SOTD = Amouage Honour Woman EdP, from the sample stash. Pretty, but not making the earth move for me.
very late to the party but had a very long day and worked through my lunch….started in Eau de Campagne as I had a meeting and wanted to just smell classy and classic (Eau de Campagne reminds me a lot of vintage Cristalle and vintage O de Lancolme both of which are classy/classic fragrances to me).
Robin’s review of the AG reminded me of the concoction younger CM8 made of all the vanilla sample vials my best friend gifted to me..once I wore them all I passed them on to the “vanilla fiend” in the house and she proceeded to dump them all (30+) into a 1 oz bottle and add a bit of lavender and dark patchouli….so that was the scent I wore to yoga tonight…surprisingly it came out quite good…it is a less sweet , deep , dark vanilla. She is the middle one and marches to the beat of her own drum 🙂
I’m wearing (diluted) stash oil, and a very little bit of anubis to feel fall-like before the downpours start again…
Cute teapot!
Dropping by very late but I have been wafting in the superb goodness of SOTD = Tauer Dark Passage. This is a most excellent honeyed patchouli (not the oily hair smell type), cacao and tobacco. It is not for everyone, as witnessed by my acquisition of this beauty from several NSTers (thank you, you know who you are). If you have one and don’t care for it, I will take it off your hands via a very favorable swap!
All day today, I kept wondering who was smelling so good and it was actually I, me and myself.
How do I not know of this one..the patch freak that I am? Maybe I don’t want to know it as it sounds like it is d/c and hard to come by…no one ever seems to mention it…..
