Twilly d’Hermes ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 26 July 2017 20 Comments

Twilly d'Hermès

Hermès will launch Twilly d'Hermès, a new fragrance for women, in August. Twilly is aimed at young women, and named for the brand's narrow Twilly scarves.

Twilly d'Hermès was developed by Hermès house perfumer Christine Nagel. The notes include ginger, tuberose and sandalwood.

I will update with sizes and concentration when I can.

Twilly d'Hermès 85 ml

Update: Twilly d'Hermès was "inspired by freedom" and will be available in 30, 50 and 85 ml Eau de Parfum.

Adorable bottle. Looks actually like a little persona with a hat on top of the head and scard around the neck.

I will get it just for the bottle. I hope the juice is as nice.

The notes sound exciting! I hope I will like it better than Galop. And that the price will be nicer.

The bottle is adorable, and I’m sure the perfume will be nice, but I wouldn’t mind an *actual* Twilly scarf, either…

Gah, tuberose. I never know if I like it or not! But ginger and sandalwood… highly interesting.

First thought – What’s a trill and what did the bottle do to get squashed like that?

Second thought – Oh how cute! I hope that is a 30 mL ATOMIZER (pretty please?)

Hermes is the house that makes up the majority of my collection. JCE is my favourite perfumer and so far I like what CN has created for the house. I have always admired how their products are elegantly yet simply packaged and presented. They are not aggressively marketed to a really specific audience like so many scents are these days. Male or female, young or mature can wear, share and enjoy their products. I like the neutrality and inclusiveness that they offer. I’m kind of surprised to see that Hermes has created a scent to be marketed specifically to young women. It looks like something Avon or Yardley would have made in the 60s. Kind of gimmicky, toy-like, trendy. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just not something I would expect to see from Hermes.

    Get off my lawn, Twilly,
    you look kind of silly.

Sorry, things like this bring out my inner curmudgeon, always only about a millimeter below the surface at best. In reality, I will try it if I get a chance.

Agree, nozknoz. That “aimed at young women” makes me want to spend my old money on something else.
