More ideas for Mother's Day 2017, which is coming up on Sunday, 14 May. If you missed it, do see part 1.
The limited edition Les Belles Matières collection from Cire Trudon features three candles exploring "the origins of rare perfumes". Shown is Maduraï ("A heady, creamy true jasmine"), or choose Tadine (cardamom, sandalwood and guaiacwood) or Reggio ("soft, sweet citrus"). 270g, $105 each at Aedes de Venustas.
Or a home fragrance bargain from L'Occitane, with all of the proceeds going to charity — The La Flamme Marie Claire Candle: "La Flamme is a $10 verbena-scented candle which L’OCCITANE has created in partnership with Marie Claire to raise funds to transform the lives of women and children worldwide. 100% of profits from the sale of each candle will be donated to three chosen charities, She's the First (United States), Toutes À L’Ecole (Cambodia) and Entrepreneurs du Monde (Africa) in order to help transform the lives of thousands of young girls and women." 100g, $10.
From Maison Francis Kurkdjian, À la Rose Body Oil: "The À la rose scented body oil exalts the skin with an exquisite, sensual veil. Its light, non-greasy, irresistible texture is rapidly absorbed, leaving the skin satiny smooth and delicately scented. It blends three oils selected for their natural properties: argan oil known for its revitalizing and antioxidizing properties, sweet almond oil known for its softening and regenerating abilities and apricot kernel oil known for its contribution to radiance-boosting." $75 for 70 ml at Neiman Marcus.
From Profumum, Confetto Body Cream: "Featuring the delightfully pretty, just-the-right-amount-of-sweet almond scent of Profumum's wildly popular Confetto. Perfect to layer or wear all on its own." $95 for 250 ml at Luckyscent.
A cute duo of travel-sized fruity Omnia flankers: "The Omnia Travel Collection Coffret is a creative and superbly sophisticated collection of colorful gemstone fragrances, reminiscent of contemporary Bvlgari jewels. This captivating set includes two iconic fragrances, Omnia Coral and Omnia Paraiba. Omnia Coral, a colorful and radiant creation capturing the cheeriness of sunny days scented with bergamot, hibiscus flower and pomegranate. Omnia Paraiba, a tribute to Brazilian beauty and femininity exudes in freshness with hints of orange, passion flower and cocoa beans." $30 at Ulta.
From Jo Malone, Geranium & Walnut Hand Cream: "Soothe and soften your hands with Geranium & Walnut Hand Cream. A lightweight, delicately scented formula with Apricot Kernel oil absorbs quickly, leaving hands moisturised. Crisp, vibrant Geranium is layered with the warmth of walnut. The scent was developed to complement each and every Jo Malone London fragrance." 50 ml for $30 at Nordstrom.
And last but not least, the chocolate selections. First, Parallel bars from Éclat Chocolate, in Zuta and Orange, Allspice and Sesame Seed, Porcini and Thyme, Green Tea and Roasted Rice or Coffee and Cardamom. $8.50 each or available in a variety of gift sets, including the Botanical Collection with 7 bars and 9 truffles for $79.
From Theo Chocolate, the Fantasy Flavor 4 bar Collection, with Bread & Chocolate, Cinnamon Horchata, Hazelnut Crunch and Root Beer Barrel. $12.
Oh, I saw that Omnia set in the latest ULTA admag and though of you!
I love the idea of that rose oil but I could probably stick to Tauer’s for a third of the cost.
Just saw that Angel x La Maison du Chocolat set go live. I’m waiting until my paycheck before being profligate but I’m having a hard time resisting until then.
Ha — and I am tempted! If it was Paraiba + the original, or even Crystalline, I would have bought already.
More perfume + chocolate, but subscription only I think:

Although adding that these aren’t chocolates inspired by fragrances, but the other way around. They’ve picked fragrances for chocolates they already make. So maybe never mind. Sorry, very tired!
That’s pretty cool though. God knows I love fancy chocolate. Vosges was my first $7+ chocolate bar and I’ve eaten so many of their salt and goji milk chocolate bars I should get a membership.
Mine are the dark Mo’s Bacon Bars 🙂
They discontinued all my other favorites, unfortunately.
Still a cool link, Robin!
Chocolate is chocolate 🙂
Wow! If I win lotto I am buying this…those truffles look amazing!
Not subscription only! Subscribers get a discount on the set, but it’s also available a standalone set. (I’m the founder of Olfactif and don’t mean to promote — just wanted to clarify.)
Thanks!
Those Vosges truffles sound incredible! I’m not crazy about any of their bars that I’ve tried, though.
I will take all the chocolate, please…every single bar….and the truffles too 🙂
Why not 😉
The candle makes me want to go have a sniff! I haven’t been to that store in awhile..I am do for a visit. And some of there shea butter hand cream
The L’Occitane? I am due for a visit myself.
I’m beginning to regret my “I don’t believe in mother’s day” mindset.
Kanuka, if I got past my “I’ll never dye my hair” stance, I think you could maneuver yourself into scented mothers’ day presents. 😉
I’m in a “I’ll never dye my hair again” stage…it’s been more than two years since I last coloured it and I’m thinking of progressing into a “I’ll never go to a hairdresser again” phase.
In all honesty, I don’t think the mother’s day thing will ever happen. My own mother always frowned on such things.
I haven’t been to a hairdresser since I was a teenager. 🙂 But I use a temporary cream thing.
Is there a New Zealand Women Writers’ Day? If not, perhaps someone should invent it.
Seeing that the other 364 days a year are “Children’s Day,” I think you should get on board with Mother’s Day.
I could do both!
I’m fascinated by the idea of a Geranium & Walnut Hand Cream. I probably wouldn’t like it, since I usually don’t care for Jo Malone, but I wish someone would make a buttercream icing in that flavor, with walnut butter instead of dairy butter. 😉
LOL, I was eyeing this one too. As indulgent as I was at Sniffa, I do not want to waster my $50 off $$250’purchase from SFA and this may be the perfect add on for me to be exactly at $250 or just a little bit above to get the full 20% discount impact.
Yes — would like to try that one! I think it’s also in something else, maybe a scrub. And I would go for icing, too.
I am hoping to see some Theo chocolates in the mail from the other side of a swap. This particular set looks interesting. As do the Vosges and the Mugler. Aaaaargh.
I am still mourning the licorice Theo bar from Valentine’s day that I never found again. The Root Beer one is very tempting!
That Olfactiv Vosges exotic truffle set paired with perfume samples is $60. Not bad, really. Only 16 chocolates, but we don’t want to gain weight, do we? 😉
Wow — I already pay premium for some chocolates, but $60 made me pause! But maybe that’s also because I don’t care about the perfume samples.
