Up for grabs: Tauerville Vanilla Flash and L’Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc

Posted by Robin on 6 May 2015 87 Comments — Comments are closed

Tauerville Vanilla Flash and L'Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc

What is it: a a 10 ml Eau de Parfum roll-on of Tauer Perfumes Vanilla Flash plus a 75 ml bottle of L'Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc Eau de Toilette. Both have been used for testing.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite recently launched fragrance, or b) your favorite spring flower, or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so next Tuesday, and I'll announce the winner next Wednesday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

My favorite new fragrance is definitely Ostara by Penhaligon’s!

    I live in the US.

I haven’t had a chance to sniff many new things recently. I sniffed a scent strip of the new Kate Spade, Walk on Air, and am interested in smelling it when I encounter it.

Iris and vanilla are two of my favorite smells, so this sounds like a great drawing to me! Thanks for the chance…

I second mikeperez23! Ostara by Penhaligon’s is a really beautiful new fragrance.

I love so many spring flowers! My favorite is each one as it blooms.

But maybe I like daffodils, hyacinths and lilac the best. Also tulips and peonies. And irises. So hard to choose!

I haven’t been good about trying new releases, so I can’t say on that one. My favorite flower.. bluebonnets make me happy because they’re one of the first flowers I see in the spring, but right now I’m kind of obsessed with magnolias because I was at a nursery over the weekend, and the dwarf magnolia trees that they were selling were starting to bloom. The scent of magnolias doesn’t seem to carry like some flowers, so I couldn’t smell them until I got right up close, but it’s such a great smell. Of course I also love star jasmine because it’s in bloom all over the place right now and smells wonderful.

Hi – I live in the USA.
Favorite new fragrance, although I think it was launched in the fall of 2014.. so not super new, but new nonetheless, is Hermessence Cuir d’ange.

    Thanks for the give-away!

    I live in the U.S.

I recently bought a 30 ml bottle of Tauerville Rose Flash and I absolutely LOVE it. So far it has been my favorite recent release from a company. I have been dying to try the new vanilla flash and I haven’t had the opportunity yet. In addition, I love iris and it is one of my favorite flowers. Both of these would make a wonderful complement to my collection.

I’m in the USA and lately I’ve been adoring all things mimosa and heliotrope. I think it’s something about “floral almond” that’s working for me. It has been a very YSL Cinema spring in my house.

    Thanks for the drawing!

I live in the U.S. My favorite spring flower is the flower of the silk tree, (known in the southern U.S. as the mimosa). However, I also love the smell of hyacinth. And Narcissus, which is why after the review in NST, I really want to try Ostara.

I really like Angel Eau Sucree 2015. I sampled it recently and almost bought it, but it smells almost identical to Angel Eau Sucree from last year, which is one of my favorites. I will probably end up buying the 2015 version before long.

Interesting that you are giving away the L’Occitane Iris Bleu & Iris Blanc. Last Friday was my birthday, and my friend gave me the soap for this scent as a gift. I was just smelling it today, and thinking how pretty it is. Then I go on NST, and see it as a lovely prize. Nice!

Hello, I live in the US.

My favorite summer flower is definetly the gardenia. The petals are soft and beautiful and the smell is intoxicating! Before I moved here years ago I took it as a sign when I saw a thick green gardenia bush beside the front door. Its been giving joy and fragrance ever since.

thank you for the giveaway : )

I’m in the U.S. In the Midwest, I was always thrilled to see the lilacs. Here in California, it’s the jasmine. There’s been a trend lately of planting banks of jasmine as ground cover, outside of office buildings, and in parking lots, and it’s nice to get a whiff when running errands or visiting a doctor’s office.

  44. zzibbyz says:

I live in the Pacific NW, my fav spring flowers are lily of the valley and lilacs. In Chicago, where I grew up, lilacs reminded me of my birthday, in June, but they arrive so much earlier here in Seattle. looking for a nice summer frag as I have no trouble finding yummy wintery ones.

I live in the United States, and my passion for fragrance is new enough that I feel I’m spending more time finding “new to me” classics than trying new releases. But I’ll get there!

My favorite flowers in spring are jasmine, gardenia, the beautiful purple orchid trees all around Los Angeles, and lilacs.

  49. Aparatchick says:
    6 May 2015 at 6:47 pm

I live in the US. I can’t hope to keep up with new releases (Often, I think of something as new, only to realize it was released a year ago!), so let’s talk about spring flowers. When I lived in the Pacific NW, my favorite spring flower was lilac. If any NSTers live in Oregon or Washington, do visit the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in the spring. Pure heaven right there in Woodland, Washington. In Florida, my favorite spring flowers are the gardenia and jasmine that perfume the neighborhood. Glorious!

My favorite recently-released fragrance (thank you, thank you Kevin) is Oriza Legrand’s Chypre Mousse. I got three completely unsolicited compliments today. Who’d have thought such a bone-dry fragrance would catch attention? But I understand why: it’s well-deserved attention. I put off buying this for weeks because I was not sure I could live with it after the sample (and well, the price too). So glad I dropped the mad money for this.

  56. PhinClio says:

I live in the U.S. and ADORE irises. I found some gorgeous, large ones blooming on the campus on which I work this week, which brightened my Monday! I also recently found some hyacinths in a city garden patch and fell in love with that smell. When I am not an apartment-dweller, I’ll plant both. Thank you for the draw!

My favorite new release is Monsillage Eau de Celeri. I find myself craving ‘green’ scents now – a genre that, until recently, was never much of an interest – an Eau de Celeri has a lush greenness that is not monochromatic, but multi-dimensional, thanks to base layers of vetiver, patch and cedar. Definitely at the top of my ‘purchase next’ list.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

I live in the US, and my favorite spring flower is the evening primrose. Here in the desert, we don’t have a lot of what one thinks of as spring flowers, but we have a short season of wonderful wildflowers. They’re all the more gorgeous for being so ephemeral. The evening primrose is one such, and it has a gorgeous scent that perfumes the evening air.
