Chanel Chance Eau Vive ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 20 April 2015 7 Comments

Chanel Chance Eau Vive

Chanel will launch Chance Eau Vive in June. Chance Eau Vive is a flanker to Chanel Chance, and follows Chance Eau Fraîche (2007) and Chance Eau Tendre (2010).

Chance Eau Vive was developed by perfumer Olivier Polge, and features grapefruit, blood orange, jasmine, white musk and vetiver.

Chanel Chance Eau Vive will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Ach, the Chance line brings out my inner perfume snob, really boring stuff when you consider that it’s from one of the greatest perfume houses in the world. Oh well, at least we got Misia this year!

It is not Chanel’s finest moment. Hopefully this one will be fun?

Don’t know about this. Could be a lovely summer scent (wasn’t too pleased with the last two flankers) might be worth a sniff :)

Can’t hurt to try, but I’m not saving money for it ;-)

Funny I should see this today as I passed by chanel to sniff out Misia . I asked if there was anything new on its way and I was told in a slight whisper that a new chance was in production ! ‘Oh a flanker’ I said a little disappointed .
FYI this should be available in Australia in July – SA insider knowledge ;)

Just me, but I’d rather own Chance than Misia. WHAT? LOL. I really just didn’t like Misia but more for others I guess:). I really didn’t think it was very well done, don’t think it was well blended.. and that dirt, foot powder or citronella candle note just kills the party for me. The dry down is better..but no, that note that ‘hangs there’ just doesn’t smell good to me at all. At very first spray, it’s definitely a lipstick-y rose..then what happens? Medicinal foot powder…and it stays like that for quite a while. What is that note? It’s dirty iris, violet and Gold Bond. It’s one of my least liked Chanels. Drole de Rose is better, imo. Are there better scents than Chance? Sure but it’s good for what it is. Misia, imo, isn’t. Just imo! If it’s the last of the Exclusifs, it’s not the way to exit. Again, just imo! LOL. (apologies to any Misia fans, forgive me:)). xoxo

Given the notes on this(blood orange, white musk) and my dislike of Misia, I am not expecting to like this. I like maybe three of Oliver’s scents. But I will sniff this one out.
