Lancome La Nuit Tresor ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 8 December 2014 6 Comments

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor

Lancôme will launch La Nuit Trésor, a new fragrance for women, in February. La Nuit Trésor is a flanker to 1990's Trésor, and follows recent efforts Trésor Midnight Rose, Trésor L'Absolu Desir, Trésor Absolu de Parfum and Trésor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse. La Nuit Trésor will be fronted by actress Penelope Cruz.

La Nuit Trésor is described as a 'gourmand aphrodisiac', and was developed by perfumers Christophe Raynaud and Amandine Marie. The notes include black rose, vanilla orchid, incense, papyrus and lychee praline.

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor will be available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum.

I want to believe, because the 1990 Trésor was a work of art, but the original was ruined by reformulation, I haven’t liked any of the flankers, and anything with “Nuit” affixed to it is rarely good (case in point: Obsession Night). You know I’ll give this a shot anyway, just in case lightning strikes a second time (although “lychee praline” does not inspire hope).

The bottle looks like it’s killer, anyway.

I liked Midnight Poison but can’t think of any others offhand. Not a huge fan of the original Tresor anyway, although agree it was a work of art.

I don’t believe in anything except that it will be too sweet for me. Tresor is a great perfume long gone, imo.

Lychee praline is likely to be sweet 🙂

Ya, I know…don’t like lychee, don’t care for prailine…for the most part. I think I liked a rose scent once with prailine but it wasn’t too sweet. Lychee is mainly a turn off everytime.

I really liked Tresor Midnight Rose but haven’t tried any of the other flankers, and never even tried the original, even when it was at its peak. But I am a sucker for a good gourmand so will give this one a sniff if I get the chance.
