Lancome Tresor Absolu de Parfum & Tresor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 9 August 2013 11 Comments

Lancôme Trésor Absolu de Parfum and Trésor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse

This month, Lancôme will launch two new flankers to their classic 1990 Trésor fragrance for women: Trésor Absolu de Parfum and Trésor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse.

Trésor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse (above left) ~ developed by perfumer Dominique Ropion, and featuring "a new and fresh sweetness" with rose, violet leaf, violet praline note, blackcurrant, vanilla, musk and woods.

Trésor Absolu de Parfum (above right) ~ a "more flamboyant version" with rose, jasmine, amber, patchouli and benzoin.

I will update with sizes when I can.

Update: Trésor Absolu de Parfum is in 50 ml Eau de Parfum; Trésor Eau de Parfum Lumineuse is in 30 ml.

Lumineuse sounds about as exciting as that Le Vie Est Belle or whatever. Praline, blah, scents need to tone down the sweetness, imo..it’s all a candy musk bomb at the dept. store these days.

I do like that Absolu bottle..heard it has leather in there too, very interesting. One Tresor for the good girl and one for the not-so-good?

*if I like the juice enough..I may get that absolu..mainly for the bottle! Hope it looks as good as in the pics. Usually never does though!

The Absolu bottle does look quite spiffy, & it sounds the best of the 2.

I love me a rose + violet, but why, WHY???!!!, do we need another praline/ candied/ confection of a fragrance? Agree with Omega that we have quite enough candied musk in the department stores these days.

Ya, I want the 90’s back. Even if I’d have to deal with CK One everywhere again..at least there were many other good ones!

Well, there’s too much of EVERYTHING, that’s the real problem.

A more flamboyant Tresor? I find the originally far too desperately attention grabbing!! There is something in it that catches in my throat and makes me want to run away – and I don’t care how much luminous praline they shove in it’ll never win any points with me…

Ha…I thought that was funny too. But betcha they mean it’s darker.

To me, Tresor is an olfactory steam roller. When I catch the tiniest whiff it I think it will smell good and the next thing I know I’ve been squashed down to an eighth of an inch thickness and embedded in asphalt that smells like a radioactive Godzilla version of peach. It’s really painful. Those bottles are awesome, though. The magpie brain is hoping there was a total reformulation/flankerization resulting in something that smells absolutely NOTHING like the original.

I love Tresor-it’s one of my favorite teenage memories, an aunt and my mom wore it. Of the two, I’d be interested in the Absolu, especially with patchouli in the notes.
