Our Friday community project this week: wear something green.
As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you aren’t participating in the community project.
I started the day with Sous Le Buis by Gobin Daudé. Sadly, the juice from my aging bottle is not in perfect shape, so I've put some Miller et Bertaux No. 3 Green, green, green and green on too. I smell like grass and shrubbery.
Reminder: next Friday, 19 September, wear something discontinued.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2014, where I'll try to always have the next six or seven weeks mapped out in advance.
And I've added an emoticon chart here, for anyone who needs it.

SOTD is AA Herba Fresca – mint all the way.
Nice, I do like that one.
Me too!!! I’m enjoying the mint – Just wish it had s little more oomph. 🙂
it’s chilly here in Cleveland and most green scents will only do in summer. But Mitsouko is pretty green and does better in chilly weather. So I guess it’s Mitsouko today.
That cold already?
Yep, it’s really cold and it’s normally in the 80’s here in mid September.
I truly dread the fact that we are going to have to turn on the heat this weekend. Blah. Unfair!!!
So the obvious choice for me today was Silences, right? Which is my favourite at the moment.
However, I felt it didn’t go with my very casual outfit (imagine the normcore trend!) so I just went with Osmanthus Interdite – sorry! But isn’t it funny when that happens?
My English failed me here – what I meant was “picture my outfit today as inspired by the normcore trend”. Anyhoo…
I am that way too sometimes. Feel weird wearing something very opulent with jeans and a sweatshirt. (Though I do like red lipstick with very casual clothes.)
Yes, agree. I wore red lipstick today! But Silences just felt too “boardroom/formal.
That is so funny. Good for you to be true to yourself and change plans. I, on the other hand, bloody mindedly stuck with the plan and now I’m sitting here in my jeans and painting gear with Chanel 19 perfume on, feeling kind of silly.
I wear what I want, when I want. The only fragrance that jumps off my skin out of complete horror for dress down is Amouage Dia.
Geez. I had to google “normcore.” Who knew?! 🙂
Yup. It’s probably the new name for good old casual.
Hey, you smell great!
Thanks – I may have caught up with the theme. I am now home sampling Bandit and it’s very green (ok, very leathery, too) and very nice.
Psssssh. I wear what I like.
I’ve been known to clean toilets wearing a rhinestone tiara. 😉
A “like” button would be useful!
“Green” SOTD is Green Oakmoss (Soivohle). It was languishing in the bottom of my pile of samples.
Ah, I need to try that one again. Good?
Yes, very good. It doesn’t seem to last long, but I am dabbing from a very small vial.
Thanks!
That’s a nice one.
I finally unearthed my full bottles and decants from the move!!! No more samples for a while. So today’s scent is Hermes Eau de Gentiane Blanche, about as green as green can be.
Congrats on getting unpacked (my least favorite chore. almost).
Thanks, it’s not quite done, but getting better by the day!
Good for you! I’ve still got a few boxes lingering and I moved in July!
Oh, there are still some boxes lingering. We have at least 6 boxes that are all full and ready for a stoop sale next weekend. And there are a couple of miscellaneous oh-my-god-I-don’t-even-want-to-look-in-that-box-can’t-we-just-burn-it-instead-of-unpacking boxes. But it’s getting better every day.
Yeah. Everytime I move I have grand plans to sort/destroy those boxes of clutter BEFORE the packing starts, but each time they come along for the ride and have to be dealt with (or not) later.. sigh
I feel your pain, but I hope the move has you feeling refreshed and looking forward to the next phase of your journey
After the tenth box of my books, I wanted to drive them straight to a book donation drop!
Green is not my favorite category and I was thinking of sitting this one out, but scrounging around I found Laboratorio Olfattivo’s Cozumel, which has basil and other herbal notes… It dries down to a very sweet, ambery scent but the beginning is greenish.
That works then! I don’t think I’ve tried it.
SOTD is Balmain Vent Verte vintage parfum. I only have a tiny bottle, but theme Fridays are a special occasion 😉
Oh, perfect! I have a little decant of that somewhere around here, I should find it…
I will be in the studio all day so it’s just me, myself and Number 19 perfume. I think I put too much on because breakfast tasted kinda funny…
For the opening reception tonight, it’s gonna be OJ Woman.
Best wishes at your opening! OJ Woman is a great choice. I partially chose my screen moniker after that fragrance 😀
I think my project today may be to put No. 19 on skin. Don’t take my perfumista card, but I’ve never worn it, only sniffed the cap in passing. I will try not to, erm, flavor my food with it. I have done that with a sillage monster. Have a wonderful day in the studio!
I’ve never put any Chanel fragrance on my skin, so I don’t know if I’ve even earned my card 🙂
I love no 19, original and poudre
Good luck on your opening. Woman is a great fragrance!! I always have that lingering on my “to buy” list. It’s great in the fall.
Hope tonight goes great Sajini! 🙂
I’m wearing Safari. It’s been nice to see this mentioned more on the blogs lately. Probably my favorite galbanum scent.
I need to get some of this… I feel a blind buy coming on!
If you like galbanum and floral chypres it’s hard to go wrong!
Wow, that sounds hard to turn down!
I love galbanum, so that’s good to know. Should I look for the vintage or is the current one ok?
I can’t vouch for the current version, haven’t tried it — I’m actually amazed they still make it! My bottle is at least 5 years old. I’d be curious to hear from others, if anyone knows how the versions compare.
I <3 galbanum and floral chypres!
I'm curious about current vs vintage as well.
Thank you! I will get a sample of the current one and report back.
I had Safari on when I went to community choir practice last night! My seat-next-door neighbor leaned over and said, “mmm, you smell nice!” and I just cringed, because there is that one perfume-averse person who sits in the row behind me. Sigh. I’d been hoping to sneak under her radar, but I bet I didn’t!
Somebody else was wearing Coco Mlle, though.
I thought you might be wearing this one today! I know you’ve been loving it lately.
I almost put Safari on my top 10 fall list. But it’s technically on my top 10 all year round list. Safari is very well done and very versatile. I have to give my older sister credit for wearing it when it first came out years ago. It is just plain perfect.
I remember seeing the ads everywhere when I was a kid. Back when “safari chic” was cool and Banana Republic mostly sold t-shirts.
Yes, I remember those days well. I had the khaki cargo blouses too!
The store was so much fun back then!
My hand is hovering over the Buy Now! button.
Enablers pins for the lot of you!
Eau Campagne by Sisley. Its clean, fresh and light. Green fragrances are not what I would usually go for so thank god I have this tester vial (I know we all have LOADS – too much, even – of them 😛 )!
An early Jean-Claude Ellena…
One cannot have too many perfume samples … or too many clean towels. 🙂
True, so true!!
I’ve dug through my collection several times and the only kind of green scent I own is Nasomatto’s China White. More of a deep dark green.
I enjoy it but I probably wouldn’t have bought a full bottle if I’d waited a bit longer. It’s a bit loud.
Didn’t really have anything green so I’m wearing Bottega Veneta Eau Légère today. I never wear it and forgot how pretty it is! It’s airy but a little plush–nice for those in-between-seasons days–and it makes me think of a very put-together woman in a calf-length pencil skirt riding the subway, minding her own business. I’ve had a trying week at work, so a little inspiration to stay graceful and stay out of things I don’t need to get involved with is necessary.
I went for L’Artisan Fou d’Absinthe. Refreshing and energetic but not without depth.
I went with Diptique Eau de Lierre, as it is nice and green.
My SOTD, Phoenix by MCMC, isn’t green. Flower Market by Lush has plenty of galbanum, but it’s too hot for FM. FM was discontinued. If it’s cooler, perhaps I’ll wear it next Friday.
Ok, so I started to reply to your comment about no Chanel on skin above, but did not want to hijack Sajini’s comment…
Whut? You must have a deep conviction keeping you away. Perhaps the awful Coco Chanel WWII stuff? Just curious. I am not a Guerlie girl, or big Creed fan, but still try things by L midline back excision determination to FINALLY try No. 19 today. So many love it, I want that experience. I guess I have one house I avoid for moral qualms, but I just had to ask. No disrespect intended!
Wow… Sorry for odd text insert up there! Too odd! 80
No offense taken at all. While I know perfectly well that something that smells unpleasant (to me) on paper can smell good on skin and vice versa, and I know about olfactory fatigue, it’s hard for me to get motivated to ask for a sample at the store when I really don’t like what I’ve sniffed on the test strip. That has been the case with the Chanels I’ve sniffed on paper strips in stores.
I heard about her WWII stuff fairly recently, and that has supported my lack of motivation, but I’m not boycotting Chanel, just unmotivated right now.
I went with L’Ombre sans L’Eau.
Is that just L’Ombre then?
Scent twins! The obvious choice for me would’ve been #19 since I love it so, but I was actually planning on wearing Heure Exquisite since I haven’t worn that in a long time. But when I saw my bottle of L’Ombre dans L’Eau EDT sitting there, I remembered that I’ve haven’t worn it for an even longer time….at least a year! I’m enjoying it a lot on this rainy day, even though it’s a rather relentless green rose. One of my very first Perfumista purchases!
Yeah, that should definitely be avec l’eau. Lol
When I think ‘green’, I think Ma Griffe, so that’s my SOTD. I’m hoping it will counteract the cold, wintery, foggy, soup our weather is today.
I feel chic and unattainable, even though neither of those adjectives describes me at all. 🙂
Mmm I really like Ma Griffey, but it’s not warm enough here yet for me to wear it. It’s one of those odd ones I only like wearing on hot days
Erm.. no I’m not speaking like a 4yr old, but autocorrect is :-/
I was planning on wearing Safari but yesterday Leopold took a turn for the worse and I had to take him in to be put out of his suffering. My mom kindly came in to town to give me some moral support and we decided, since I’m moving soon, to bring his little body out to her place for interment. He loved it out here in the country, accompanying us on walks and running ahead to check out all the critter dens along the riverside.
I grabbed my bags in such a hurry that I only have a little baggie of untested samples with me and the only green I see is Corsica Furiosa, which Luckyscent was prescient enough to have thrown in on my last order. It certainly is green in the opening. Reminds me a lot at first of trimming Vitex agnus-castus foliage.
So sorry to hear about Leopold… It’s so sad when they leave us, isn’t it.
So sorry to hear about Leopold.
I’m so sorry about Leopold.
Oh dear, my sypathies.
Do sorry, take gentle care. :'(
Sorry you lost your pet! I’m glad you found a good place to bury him.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You’ll be in my thoughts.
I’m so, so sorry to hear about Leopold. I hope you take comfort not only in the joy you brought to his life but also in the wonderful place you chose for him to live forever. Sending hugs your way.
Thanks all. The hardest part is over for everyone now. My vet agreed that the timing was right and made me feel a lot better about it and her staff was so nice. They even brought in the cute little office kitty for me to pet afterward.
As for the Corsica Furiosa, it isn’t furious for very long and gets a lot sweeter than I had expected. Reminds me of something cheap I had as a kid, maybe a soap or shampoo, but I can’t quite put my finger on what. It makes me think of showering outside by the pool when I was little so probably some strange body wash my dad picked up at an auction. Of course, the shower head was mounted in a tropical vine of some sort and poised over a huge barrel of mint so that may be part of the memory.
I really don’t get nearly as much pepper and tomato leaf as everyone else. I might need to try it sprayed because I find it pretty delicate and minty dabbed from the sample.
So sorry…
Oh, I am so sorry. But it’s lovely that Leopold will be in a place he loved.
So sorry for your loss. 🙁
I’m sorry to hear about Leopold.
Oh no I’m so sorry about Leopold. It’s so hard to see our little loved ones suffering, and such a difficult decision to let them go. Hugs to you x
I’m so sorry about Leopold (such a noble name). I’m glad that you had someone with you for support.
When I met my husband, his family had a very sweet cat named Fred who would accompany us on walks — he seemed rather avuncular on those walks, as if he was wiser than us (we were 19) and felt as if we needed someone to watch out for us.
So Leopold has traveled on to Cat Heaven where he waits for all his loved ones. I am glad you had support from your Mom and your vet, it can make such a difficult time a bit easier.
Fred is such a great cat name. My best friend as a kid had a pretty tuxedo cat named Fred, he was a ham.
My dad had an old barn cat who would hover and yell if we got too far down the river or out in the field. He always tried to herd everyone back to safety.
🙂
Our Fred was a 16-pound (not fat; just huge) tabby with a tail that curled like a corkscrew. Gentle, saintly, lots of personality, and he never got tired of being petted.
Aw that’s really rough. Let yourself cry whenever you need to and know that your sweet kitty is in a better place.
Hey guys, could I get a scent suggestion???
Her sig is Beautiful…I was thinking Pure Poison, Infusion d’ Iris, Samsara…Baiser Vole..something floral, classic..not sure if she likes Chanel. She also wears Clinique Happy some.
Any suggestions? Designer or niche?
Thanks!
Not green, as the sales lady gave me a small tube of Opium cream and I didn’t have to buy anything:). Always nice.
I love Beautiful, so let´s see… Not similar, but I think Guerlain Chamade is fool proof. Also, have you tried Jour d´Hermès and Bottega Veneta Knot?
How about the Marni, or Bottega Veneta, or Baiser Vole?
Don’t think I own anything green, so I just went with my sample of A*men.
I went for the most obvious choice and am wearing Byredo Green. My sample is now finished (so sad) but at least I smell great
I bought a bottle of Milk of Flowers and it arrived today. I spritzed it on two minutes ago, and so far so good (very good).
You noticed my constant fondness for it! I am glad you like it so far
SOTD: Midnight Bath and Body Works for men
I finally settled down for Calyx. I got my bottle in 2007 or thereabouts so dont’ know how close to the original it is. I love it and it always lifts my spirits.
Calyx never liked me, but it always smells so good on other people!
I went with Chanel 19 Poudre today (I’m using just samples this month so this choice was a way to hit two themes with one spray). I don’t know what to think of this one…I’ve worn the original 19 for too long to detail here, and the Poudre is definitely related, but is a bit like looking at a familiar face but their nose is in a different spot. Comforting and disturbing all at the same time.
# 19 Poudre seems like a cross between #19 edt and Infusion d’Iris, to me. It’s not a bad fragrance at all, but I think I was disappointed in the lack of character – it seemed second generation to me. Compared to a lot of other things available, it’s quite nice. Compared to the original, I felt it was pale.
That’s a good comparison. I get some of that powdery Infusion in the 1932 as well. It seems like Chanel is adding dry musky iris to their modern palette.
SOTD = Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt
What a nice fragrance – smooth bergamot, airish / waterish but not the dreaded calone and salt, and I’m getting a little bit of herbal spiciness which could be the sage. Some reviews mentioned caramel but I got none of that. I spritzed 4x from my sample spray and I can still detect it. FB-worthy for sure and this will probably be the first Jo Malone available in 30 mL that I will opt to buy 100 mLs instead!
Wow, that is an endorsement! I just got a sample of this and it will be next on the list to try.
It’s an easy fragrance to wear. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Fig Tree by Sonoma Scent Studio–a fresh, bright green milky green, I love it!
I almost picked that one today!
I am glad you are wearing it and loving it!
This sounds great – recently discovered I love fig!
Wearing Jammine White Moss. Almost went for Trefle Pur, as I can’t imagine anything much greener than clover…
You smell great! Jasmine & White Moss is an underrated wonder. I have to admit, here in the heat, Trefle Pur was my first thought this morning. I’m scentless so far, but may stick that on.
Oooh, do it, Trefle Pur is wonderful.
Did not wear a green perfume today (Bronze Goddess instead) but just realized why I had no problem picking out my outfit this morning – a green dress I haven’t worn so far this year 😛
After much mulling and vacillation (Chanel 19? Le Temps d’Une Fete? OJ Woman?), I retrieved my bottle of Cristalle edp from the wine-erator, removed the cap, and took a sniff. Decision made! I always forget how green and gorgeous the edp is … until that next sniff, when I fall in love all over again.
Cristalle edp is my preference over the edt. You smell great!
Thanks! So do you – your description of Encre Noir is tantalizing!
Bel Respiro today, because it’s still really hot here.
Not green, but was just in the mood for L`Eau Ambree..
I wasn’t sure what to wear as I don’t have any traditional green-type fragrances, but a few fres florals or citrus/mints that could be seen as “green.” But then I remembered by decant of Aterlier Trefle Pur. So green! It really is nice, though I wish it was a teeny bit sweeter.
I love Trefle Pur.
SOTD OJ Woman- just finished a sample vial that I purchased about two years ago.
The first time I tried it I hated it so much I was tempted to throw it in the trash, but instead buried at the bottom of my sample stash drawer.
Now I am wishing I had a FB or at least a decant.
I must have had a nose transplant within the last two years and was completely unaware of it. 😉
I should try it again. When I tested it before, I got three seconds of violet, thirty seconds of something coniferous, and then AMBER AMBER AMBER. Not that it smelled bad in the least, but I felt cheated by it not smelling hemlocky for very long. Possibly my nose has changed, but possibly not.
I don’t get amber but if I did that would fine with me as I have a BIG love for it 😉
I love it when that happens! (my bank account however, does not)
Over the last few years I’ve had quite a few 180° turns, and have been amazed at how I could suddenly be craving a scent that had not so long ago repulsed me.
I know! It’s so crazy- if the day ever comes that I LOVE big white florals I will know someone has preformed a bilateral frontal lobotomy on me without my knowledge or consent 🙂
Big white florals was my biggest surprise! I HATED them. Loathed Fracas. Then one day- bam! everything smelt different. Very weird. I’m still waiting for my nose to like old school chypres though…
Today I’m wearing Balenciaga Paris L’Essence with a little TVP Enchanted Forest spritzed over it. It’s a really lovely combination and while I wasn’t sure how the blackcurrant would work with the violet leaf, it is a really pretty discovery I’ll be repeating this fall.
Today is the second day of 52 degree weather, cloudy, chilly, damp, raw, with rain showers off and on all day and tonight, end of October weather that should be 6 weeks away. Brrr – I’m cold and crave a warm, comforting, spicy scent, not a green one (usually one of my favorite scent categories). But I wanted to play the game so I tried my recently purchased mini blind-buy (because I’d heard so much about it), Silences. I love it! It perfectly mirrors the day – but it’s a cold scent and offers no comfort to me now; I would much prefer it in the spring and perhaps even in the summer to conjure up the life within that magical, deep, dark forest.
Tonight I’ll be freezing at an outdoor baseball game. I’ll be wearing clothing I haven’t worn in months: socks, jeans, long-sleeved mock turtleneck, a hoodie, and a coat! (with gloves and knit cap in pocket, no less). Underneath it all I will wrap myself up in a layer of my favorite body cream for comfort and warmth – Le Baiser du Dragon. I think I’m one of the few people in the world who adores this scent – it’s so complex and, to me, defies categorization, I have it in parfum form but the body cream is my absolute favorite. The vetiver and patch will continue the green theme, but the amaretto and amber and spice and cedar (my favorite woody note) will feed my soul and, hopefully, the dragon’s fiery breath will keep me warm!
Vent Vert. I feel like a movie star!
I went with vintage Ivoire today. I was all set to wear Silences, but I was looking at my perfume shelf in the closet this morning, and I saw my vintage Ivoire travel spray and realized I’d probably only worn it once. It’s soapier than I normally like, but the galbanum slices through it and I don’t mind so much.
I feel that way about Bas de Soie, soapy but with a lovely dose of hyacinth.
I’m doing a wrist by wrist comparison of Chanel LE Sycomore and Lalique Encre Noire (thanks Deva!) for green day. They are just so similar, but now that I’m wearing and sniffing them both I do smell some nice differences. I think Sycomore has more “body” in the opening and trounces EN, which becomes transluscent in character but still very aromatic, if that makes any sense. There is an alluring, sexy transparancey with EN, whereas Sycomore is just monumental, statuesque. They are both radiant and their sillage is nearly identical (a tad more herbs in the Sycomore). But EN has it all over the drydown. It gets fuzzy and warm – it must be the “cashmere woods”. Sycomore stays more austere and green and smokey, with a dash of salt – it never lets go of the crushed root or lets you out of the forest. EN is like aromatic deeply wooded wind blowing by while you are cuddled into a blanket, and Sycomore is like standing in awe in front of a sequoia. God they are both so good. I have a tie – I’ll take them both.
Wow, that’s a great comparison =-)
My favourite green, inoui, I have only the tiniest sample of, so I am going with my slightly more generous OJ Woman with a bit of l’artisan humeur massacrante.
No anger, just peppery on top of green.
Inoui is SO gorgeous. I only have a few mls of it, but it is so graceful.
Also wearing the Miller et Bertaux Greenx4 today. I can’t remember the last time I wore it – I think I’ve been hoarding it because I’m nearly at the bottom of my bottle. This and Mandragore are on a race to see which will be the first full bottle I finish since falling down the rabbit hole. Both are loved enough that they will have to be replaced.
I’m wearing Miss Dior Eau de Toilette Originale is my green for today. I love this and getting to the end of my decant. I am definitely considering buying a full bottle.
Big shout out for vintage Estee Lauder Private Colletion parfum. Green with a capital “G”. So lovely and deep. It is cold here in Alberta, Calgary getting 20 cm. of snow!
I love Private Collection! You smell great
Thanks!
I’ve been considering seeking out some vintage Private Collection. Have you tried any concentration besides the parfum? Thanks!
I have them all and they are all great! Parfum, eau de parfum, cologne, dusting powder, body creme,if you love green it is all good. Even the reform sold at most Lauder counters is good.Just ask for it, they often hide it.
I don’t have that many green scents in my collection, but a few green chypres. I went today with the original Scherrer EPD, very nice I should remember to wear it more often.
I started the day with a sample of Cristalle Eau Verte, but then at the end I spritzed on the original Chanel Cristalle EDP. They both smell equally as “green” to me.
I’m so not green, I’d be red if I wasn’t wearing white flowers galore. Am testing Fracas on one wrist, and Kiss My Name on the other… Woe to the person who must stand in close quarters with me! The delivery guy who dropped off a package definitely had a funny look on his face when I thrust out my hands to take the box. I am not much of a tuberose gal, so this is a bit of smell therapy for me… The KMF has hints of citrus and pencil shavings, while the Fracas is sweeter and creamier–but to my nose, they are remarkably similar.
Late to the party and wearing Gucci Envy from my original bottle, still almost half full. It is GREEN.
Wow – I envy you 🙂 I love Envy and I still can’t get over it’s discontinuation.
🙂
SUCH a bummer!
I’m wearing Silences. I love it. Lately, it’s the one I reach for when I don’t know what to wear. For me, it goes with everything. Greens are one of my favorite genres. Has anyone tried the newer Silences…the Sublime?
It’s very nice. I love the old Silences – have two big bottles of the parfum de toilette, which is maybe 1980s, not more recent. But really, Silences eau de parfum Sublime really reminds me a lot of the current version of Chanel No. 19, instead – it is cooler and more iris focused, less rosy than Silences, less of a galbanum bite. More of a summer weight eau, maybe? Hard to find, but worth sniffing.
I had an appointment this morning so wanted something light. I’d thought of Thè Vert but then I saw the Un Jardin Sur le Toit which I bought super cheap at the beginning of winter and haven’t worn yet. Today was a sunny but still coolish spring day and it was a great choice. It’s my least favourite of the Jardins, but I do like them all..
A little late to the party but I’m wearing Y by Yves Saint Laurent. I really like it but I’m not sure I feel quite ‘me’ when I wear it. Less in a ‘pretend dress-up’ way….maybe a bit more like I’m a spy in disguise 🙂
Oh, “Y” makes me smile. It was my first blind buy, after reading about here at NST. Angela’s review, describing it as ” silky, moss green ribbon tied around your wrist” stuck in my head. I split the bottle with my mother. I had truly fallen down the fragrance rabbit hole. You smell lovely!
I’m even later, but I’m wearing Chypre Mousse by Oriza L. Legrand and I think it’s worth shouting about, although it’s well after midnight here. I loved this dark, moist forest perfume from the beginning, but now I think it’s fabulous. It also has great sillage and extraordinary longevity.. Happy weekend to you all!
Andrea Maack Coven
Yes, there is also dirt and whiskey, but on me this is very much about grass too so. Green 🙂
Ooh, I had forgotten I really want to try Coven.
SOTD was (stil is, actually almost 12 hours later!!) Jo Malone’s White Jasmine & Mint.
Wearing a spritz from my Le Labo (x Anthropologie) Belle du Soir decant, which a lovely NST-er gifted to me! The notes, upon further research, don’t sound green, but the scent smells green to me. Anyone know this one and have something to say (sorry I’m so late to post!)?
I have the solid of this (won it a few years ago on NST) and love it. The classification and notes on Fragrantica do make me think of an oriental rather than a chypre – but my nose, like yours, says green chypre! And interestingly its voted as most similar to Katherine Deneuve perfume which is itself described as a green woody chypre…
Thanks for the input, Merlin. I don’t reach for this too often, as I only have a little spray sample, but it is enjoyable once in a while.
I don’t wear it frequently either as I won the solids in a competition but really prefer spraying. Of the set this one and the woody one were my favorites 🙂
Motivated by AnnieA, I spritzed Trefle Pur this morning before heading to the office to do administrivia. It is wonderfully green and cheerful, and worked well for a grey, bleary day.
It faded, and after work, I went to the mall and tried current No. 19 on skin. Wow. It is GREEN, green floral. I think it could be a Swiss army knife fragrance–perfect for about any occasion. I think it would be a great power scent for me, as there is a touch of steely vetiver in the base, beneath the green florals, much the way Infusion d’Iris is for so many here. (Id’I turns to weird hairspray smell on me) I see a decant, then probably a FB in my future
Yay, you tried the 19! Which concentration? I love the edt, and haven’t yet tried the edp.
I hate that weird, screechy hairspray thing! I get it from Bottega Veneta, but thankfully the Eau Legere on me is what I expected BV to be. That tiny bit of scratchiness reminds me of a ballerina’s tutu.
I am super late! I wore Jacomo Silences today, with a squirt of Issey Miyake A Scent on the midriff and because I was drowning in green, a petit spray of Lush Lust at the neck. Silences smells so much better on my Husband, it just never really opens up on my skin, just hissy green and no flowers……..
