Balenciaga Rosabotanica ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 4 November 2013 13 Comments

Balenciaga Rosabotanica

Balenciaga will launch Rosabotanica, a new floral fragrance for women, this December. Rosabotanica is a flanker to 2012's Florabotanica.

Rosabotanica, the second rose in the enchanted garden. The fragrance unveils a fresher territory, with a sheer, enveloping second skin character.

The fragrance opens with crystalline floral accents of hyacinth and creamy green notes of fig leaf, refreshed by the natural green character of petitgrain. The experimental rose offers bright vegetal notes while sparkling, slightly bitter drops of grapefruit and fresh spicy notes of pink pepper and cardamom enhance its personality. The white ambery dry-down is cleared by a structure of vibrant and luminous white woods, made of cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli with clean woody notes.

Balenciaga Rosabotanica can be pre-ordered now at Neiman Marcus, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum for $100.

Rose flankers are de rigeur for 2013, apparently.

They are! Works well with the name though…& glad they didn’t call it “Florabotanica L’Eau Rose”.

Funny thing: went into the Body Shop to try White Musk Smoky Rose, and the main selling point from the SA was that it didn’t smell very strongly of rose. Ha. That’s undoubtedly true of this one too.

I have yet to find a Balanciaga perfume, I adore. I liked the “Paris” one (or whatever it is called) but it wasn’t a love at first sight :/ Meh

I liked Paris but didn’t buy it, ditto on the L’Eau Rose. Florabotanica was a complete meh for me though. Love the bottle!

We never got the L’eau Rose, here in Denmark, but from what I have read, it doesn’t seems like I am missing something out 😉 I am not a fan of the Florabotanica bottle, I find it very cheap looking 🙁 Sigh…I am in a perfume vaacum at the moment, any I smell, just doesn’t move me or makes me feel like…I wanna buy that! That is so me. 🙁

Oh now that’s funny – I don’t think the bottle is cheap looking. I almost don’t care what it smells like & I suspect I actually won’t like what it smells like – but I covet that bottle something fierce.

Ditto. Love the bottle. Wish they’d put something else in it.

Florabotanica is the only Balenciaga that has made its way to South Africa. Very sad!

Oh, odd that they’d skip the 1st one!

Has anyone else had a skin reaction to Florabotanica? I made the mistake of spritzing my neck with it at a department store and before I even made my way out of the store a bright red rash in the pattern of the spray droplets appeared on my skin. I itched like mad even after I used rubbing alcohol to remove most of it. I won’t be a reckless sprayer ever again!
