I am so glad that the interview focuses on the essentials of the artistry of fragrance; just what every fume head wants to know: the height of the lady who has tatooed the nose!
I am also so glad that the once the Nose stated that he felt that the casino/night club (Rick’s) from the movie Casablanca was an inspiration for a fragrance; the interviewer follows up by asking what is the primary difference between a Pefurmer and a basketball player. How about, instead, askng which Byredo scent one should wear to Ricks?
By the way the chief difference between a real perfumer and a basketball player is that both got in bed with the Kim Kardashian but only had a real relationship with her that has lasted for years; the other one just married her.

It’s really a ridiculous interview — Simon Doonan should not quit his day job.

I am a fan of Simon Doonan, but this is almost an absurdly fluffy, pointless “interview” – Byredo has done a *lot* of really innovative things in a very short time; even a person casually interested in fragrance (i.e. not a perfume geek like anyone on this site) deserves a little more substance.

Simon’s not an idiot though – maybe this was intentional? dunno.

It’s so bad it’s fascinating, which is why I posted it. Two almost certainly interesting people, managing to have a dull, pointless conversation, and then Barneys throws it online to sell perfume.

Well, this was not very insightful at all. Intothegloss.com has a wonderful interview with him, if you’re interested.

Does anyone know if the travel sizes are out yet? I can’t find them online. I suppose I should call Barney’s?

in a similar vein (perfume interviews, at least), did anyone see the interview Book Riot did with Christopher Brosius of CB I hate Perfume. Ah, the marriage of my two loves…
